    So this is here to discuss the progress of the Animsummer tournament. Talk about how you voted, how it's unfair that ____ got paired with ____, etc.

    I abstained exactly half of the list because, to be fair, I don't like to vote for something just because I've watched them and not the other. @~@;

    Fifty bucks say I'm the only one who votes Aria in #48 and Mushishi in #33. Actually, I'd be surprised if Aria got any votes through a genuine appreciation and not just a particular dislike of the other series it'll be paired with. Not that I'm complaining

    I abstained a lot too. Mainly because I haven't seen them, but 10 of them because I don't like either of the anime :/

    Hopefully something I voted for wins :D

    Yeah, I haven't seen most of them, so I didn't vote on a lot of the ones that I have seen, because I didn't know if the other was better or not . =/
     
    I honestly feel bad for Sonic X for being paired to AB! XD I mean, I'm a closet SoH fan, but I grew up with the Sonic X dub, so yeah.

    It was also kind of hard with Azumanga vs. Shaman King, because I love both. But like my current obsession with FT, I had a Shaman King obsession way back when the dub came out. I finished the dub, and now I'm trying to get through the original with subs. I never had that kind of feeling for Azumanga.
     
    Poor Sonic ;-;. If I knew it was going to turn like this I would have never put the anime into enter, although I knew the chance of it progressing to round 2 was slim to none.

    I had to seriously think on Cowboy Bebop vs Full Metal Alchemist and Trigun vs Dragonball series. They are all awesome and it took me a while to decide between them. I can't wait to see the mess that is round 2 xD. Why haven't anyone besides me voted for Nagasarete Airantou its an awesome anime

    Most probably Bleach, Naruto or the other 2 big ones. :/

    I'd like to reassert that there are no actual elimination of series. [AKA post on "this is how the tournament works"]
    The tournament is run swiss-style, so there are no actual eliminations. The winner is determined by: Wins/Losses, Total votes for/against, Standings of beaten opponents, Standing of opponents lost to. at the end of the tournament. The first round matchups are essentially random, though matchups after that are based off rank [1 vs 2, 3 vs 4, etc.] for each round. There are 7 rounds because that's the minimum number of rounds it would take to get a winner in a normal single-elimination tournament [2^7 = 128 > 100 > 64 = 2^6]

    It's much too early to tell. 19 voters have had their say so far and Naruto has just 6 votes to Eyeshield 21's 5 votes and Hetalia Axis Powers's 11 votes are more than double Bleach's 5. Gurren Lagann is off to a good start with 13 votes (against 2 for Durarara!)

    I think Cardcaptor Sakura has a good chance of coming out on top. It has a whopping 14 votes against only a single vote for Ichigo 100%. I don't think anything else has gotten as many so far.
     
    Wow, didn't expect Fullmetal to get as many votes against Cowboy Bebop. Then again if I remember correctly, this community doesn't really watch Cowboy Bebop does it? More likely than not due to Hype Aversion.

    Ah ok I understand now, I thought it was elimination but still Sonic X has a low chance of being at the top :[.

    I honestly don't want them to win they are so overhyped as it is :[. I like Naruto and Bleach but there is WAY more anime that is better. And the fillers ruin the anime anyway ><.

    Think back I feel stupid as I just remember that I forgot to edit and nominate Konjiki no Gash Bell[Zatch Bell] and Ruroni Kenshin :[. Oh well...this tourney is exciting :D.
     
    Actually, my stepdad owns quite a few Cowboy Bebop DVDs, they just never seemed interesting.

    Not to mention a good portion of the community seems to be into FMA anyhow.

    Now, what I'd like to know, is, what Hanamaru Kindergarten is about. /sure I can look it up on Wiki or MAL, but I'd rather get a member input

    And I'd love it if FT or Shaman King wins, but I'll be satisfied with one of the Key/Visual Works or TTGL winning, too. I'm also really glad this isn't elimination-style, because I feel really bad when something I liked/voted for gets eliminated.
     
    My money's on Card Captor Sakura or Spirited Away. Those two have almost no hatedom as far as I can tell. If Bleach can't put up a good fight against a light-weight like Hetalia (sorry, NEETo), it shows that notability alone wouldn't win the vote for a show.

    Also, 100 series and no one vouched for Pokemon? On a Pokemon forum?

    nah, pokemon is a cartoon not an anime *shot*

    I also forgot to mention a favorite of mine, Detroit Metal City. ah well im hoping for One Piece in the end, or FMA.

    Pokemon is an Anime. It was made in Japan :/

    One Piece isn't as popular around here as in other places :/
     
    I wouldn't call all cartoons made in Japan "anime", but still. Pokemon is, in fact, anime. Much like Digimon, which I'm surprised no one else brought up.

    Same with Megaman's anime. It wasn't half bad /again, watched dub though

    Oh right, and Medabots (anyone remember that one? :B) and Beyblade. Those two totally being there for nostalgic purposes.

    Hanamaru Kindergarten is about a guy that starts working for a kindergarten. He immediately falls in love with one of the other teachers. Unfortunately, it seems one of the kids has fallen for him too and has vowed to make him her husband. The problem with that [besides just being an innocent-ish love/admiration] is that her mother is a friend of that guy, and married one of her teachers while she was still in school, and totally approves of this. A lot of it deals with her trying to get his attention, but it's generally a comedy series. Um, if i would describe it, and trust me, i don't want to describe it this way, I would say it's along the lines of Kodomo no Jikan except with all the ero, ecchi, and sexual inuendo replaced with cute kids doing cute things. It's really enjoyable IMO.

    Also, if you're looking for series to watch, check out Tokyo Magnitude 8.0. "This work of fiction is based on the hypothetical situation of a giant earthquake occurring in Tokyo, and has been produced after extensive research and inspection of facts."

    Ya, Pokemon and Digimon ended up not being nominated XD

    its a joke gaiz!

    but on a slightly serious tone, since this is an swiss style tournament, im kinda glad pokemon wasn't nominated. since it is an anime tourney and we're on a pokemon dedicated forum, i would assume pokemon would DEFINTIELY get a lot of votes, this gives a chance for lesser known anime to shine in our tournament.

    In the end, this doesn't dictate anything, just a popularity contest JA KNOW!
