erm , there is a problem and I cannot complete the challenges because I lack of a DS game and I don't know if there is an emulator for one , so I guess I can't keep up with it.

I'll start this challenge with the Spherical caategory, on Red version.

Quick Question though. If Gulpin goes under the Spherical category, what would Swalot go under, if it can even be used under any category?

Well Swalot is Gulpin's evolution, but these Pokemon are sorted strictly by their apperance, not by their type or evo connections!
Gulpin looks like a small ball, therefore, it's spherical, Swalot on the other hand looks like..., well I don't know what it really looks like *scratches it's head* :), but whatever it is... it's not spherical!
If you check the list of Pokemon, you'll notice that there are a lot of Pokemon in each category that has their evos or preevos, but not entire evo lines!

Now my update... finnaly!

Little by little I climbed my way to Fallarbor city. Caught my Skarmory along the way, and I trained it on route 113. Also gathered enough ash along the way to get myself 3 flutes!
Got through team aqua event and then caught a Swablu! Then through Rustaboro and Mauville went to Mt Chimney! Defeteated them idiots there too, while training my Swablu through the whole time!
Went down the mountain and finnaly got to Flannery's gym! The battle was pretty easy due to my Swablu evolving to Altaria!
After that I got the Go-gogles and dealt with the desert!
Now off to Petalburg!
My team:
Blaziken lvl. 36
Quick Attack
Double Kick
Bulk Up

Alright, I understand, thanks for responding. Time for an update on Red!

I had to start the adventure with a non-spherical starter, so I decided on Bulbasaur, so I could use it as a Cut slave later on. However, I had to use it up until after the first gym, because the first spherical pokemon were Geodude, in Mt. Moon, and Jigglypuff, right before Mt. Moon, and both of which I caught.

Since Jigglypuff only knew Sing, I taught it Water Gun by TM, and fought all the trainers I skipped with Bulba to get Jigglypuff and Geodude some experience. I wanted to get Geodude to Lv16 before anything so it'd learn Rock Throw, and since I'm not planning on getting any of Jigglypuff's natural moves, I decided to evolve it with the first Moon Stone I got.

I got out of Mt. Moon by Lv18/19, and leveled Geodude to Lv21 before fighting Misty, so I could Selfdestruct Starmie. I traveled the northern cape battling as little as possible as to save any trainer experience for other pokemon I caught along the way, and got my SS Ticket. I also fought as little as possible on the way to Vermillion for the same reason as last time, but I fought every last trainer on the SS Anne, because it leaves after you get Cut anyway. By that time, Geodude had evolved, and they were both around Lv28 or so by the time I beat Lt. Surge.

I backtracked to Cerulean to get to Rock Tunnel, but before I went in Rock Tunnel, I caught a Voltorb outside and used all the unfought trainers to level it up some. I went through Rock Tunnel fighting as little trainers as possible, but used some of the trainers outside of Lavender Town to get Voltorb the levels it needed to evolve.

Current Team:

Electrode Lv30

-Thunderbolt
-Teleport (because why not)
-Light Screen
-Selfdestruct

Graveler Lv30

-Tackle
-Defense Curl
-Rock Throw
-Selfdestruct

Wigglytuff Lv30

-Sing
-Bubblebeam
-Mega Punch
-Disable

Well, I kinda went from Lavender Town all the way to beating the final boss without updating, so I'll try to remember and post as much as I can.

Spoiler:
Anyway:
I had to play through the game with just Electrode, Graveler and Wigglytuff for a while before I could get the other 3 pokemon I wanted (to be specific, I had to beat the Rockets in both Celadon and Lavender, catch Snorlax for surfing, and beat Koga and his underlings, skipping Erika in the process).

Once I could use Surf outside of battle, I went back to Pallet Town to surf down to Cinnabar to buy some Ultra Balls, catch Koffing and resurrect Omanyte. Once I bought Ultra Balls, I went back up to South Pallet Town to catch Tangela, my final member. Once I had everyone, I went back to Cinnabar for a little leveling to get my new pokemon into the groove.

Once the new pokemon were all Lv32 or so, I took them to Erika's gym, taking the Seafoam route from Cinnabar to get back inland. Erika's Victreebel was the only real hindrance, being faster than most of my pokemon and constantly putting them to sleep, but Omanyte was able to take her team down (...) once Victreebel was hindered. After that, it was time to take down the Rockets in Saffron, which gave me enough experience to evolve Koffing into Weezing and almost enough to evolve Omanyte, who ended up evolving into Omastar after the combined efforts of both Saffron gyms, speaking of which, Sabrina's probably the easiest gym leader in the whole region to beat (save for one BIG flaw/glitch with Blaine I'm about to explain), and this run really proved that. Cinnabar Gym, I would say isn't the easiest gym in the region, if it wasn't for the fact that Blaine will constantly use Super Potions on his pokemon when they're at full health!!! Giovanni wasn't too bad either, given I was able to beat his whole team with Wigglytuff alone. Since I had all the badges, it was time to head to Victory Road (and rival battle) to boot out the Elite Four. By the time my pokemon were Lv42-43, I decided I was ready.

Lorelei wasn't too hard to beat. Her first three pokemon went down with two of Electrode's Thunderbolts, and its Light Screen helped a to as well. Jynx, I had to put asleep with Wigglytuff so I could KO it with Graveler's Rock Slide without getting Ice Punched. Lapras was possibly the most annoying pokemon of the entirety of the E4! It's not that Lapras was hard to beat, but I just got SO unlucky, getting freezed by almost every Blizzard, getting paralyzed by the only Body Slam (which was critical), and I couldn't pull off a single move under confusion.

Bruno was easy. Onix went down to Tangela's Mega Drain, one hit a piece, and neither Hitmonchan or Hitmonlee had any fighting moves to KO Wigglytuff with, which easily allowed them to fall victim to its Sing and Psychic. Machamp, however, took quite a few hits, but I was able to paralyze it before Tangela went down, and even then, Wigglytuff's Psychic wasn't enough to overpower it, but when Graveler came along, things took a turn for the better. Machamp's first instinct was to keep using Fissure, which didn't work due to the paralyzation, so I decided to see what Metronome could conjure up, and I eventually got Mimic, so I stole Fissure for myself and used it effectively to defeat Machamp and earn my win.

Agatha was mildly annoying, because she has the ability to withdraw pokemon. Her first Gengar and her Haunter fell to Graveler's Earthquake move, and Golbat to Electrode's Thunderbolt. I tried to use Wigglytuff's Sing on Arbok after trying Psychic the first time, but she switched to Gengar, who got put to sleep instead. I just decided I was fed up and switched to Graveler to finish the fight, which worked after a few more needless switching on her part.

Lance is just kinda high-leveled and defensive if anything. His Gyarados just barely survived Electrode's Thunderbolt, getting let off with a paralyzation, right before KOing me with Hyper Beam. Taking advantage of the paralyzation, I decided to finish Gyarados with Omastar's Seismic Toss, and leave him out to Ice Beam the two Dragonairs, who both Dragon Rage'd me down to 39 HP. Aerodactyl was easy to beat with Graveler, who resisted all of Areodactyl's moves while delivering a deadly one. Dragonite went down with two of Omastar's Ice Beams, and Lance was beat.

For the battle with my rival, I decided to keep my personal tradition of choosing one of my pokemon to use for each of his, which I chose suprisingly well. Even though Omastar could easily beat Pidgeot with Ice Beam while brushing off its moves, I decided to add insult to injury by using Withdraw at least once this run, for 6 damage Wing Attacks! Wigglytuff took Alakazam's Psybeam well enough before putting it to sleep and Mega Punching it to bits. Rhydon just barely survived Tangela's first Mega Drain, only to fail using Horn Drill and faint to the 2nd Mega Drain. Exeggutor was obnoxious beyond belief, putting Weezing to sleep about 20 or so times before I could pull off a Toxic, which I used only because of the constant Hypnosis onslaughting!!! Gyarados went down instantly to Electrode's critical Thunderbolt. Charizard couldn't damage Graveler too hard, but Slash did leave a bit of a....scratch!!! I decided I wanted to go out flashy, which I was able to do because of a poor moveset choice on my opponent's part, so I just Metronomed Charizard into submission, and beat the first segment of my Class Challenge!!!

Why I won:

Spoiler:

Final Team:

Omastar Lv44

-Seismic Toss
-Withdraw
-Surf
-Ice Beam

Tangela Lv44

-Mega Drain
-Bind
-Stun Spore
-Poisonpowder

Electrode Lv44

-Thunderbolt
-Teleport (still)
-Light Screen
-Selfdestruct

Weezing Lv43

-Fire Blast
-Toxic
-Sludge
-Explosion

Wigglytuff Lv44

-Sing
-Bubblebeam
-Mega Punch
-Psychic

Graveler Lv44

-Strength
-Earthquake
-Rock Slide
-Metronome

Next up is Silver.....or Gold, or Crystal, I'm not sure yet. A quesion though. Mankey and Primeape are pretty much as spherical as pokemon like Poliwrath, so would they count? If not, I could probably find replacements anyway, so it doesn't matter too much.

Well, Mankey's and primeape's body is spherical, but their limbs ruin their spherical-ness (or something like that...), but in case of Poli family, their legs and arms are short, so they keep their spherical apperance. So... no.

Okay then, thanks for answering all my questions. I started Gold anyway, and got as far as Goldenrod with 4 pokemon, one of which I just freshly caught.

The basic synopsis is:
Spoiler:
I started Gold with Cyndaquil, because I had to pick someone. I fought absolutely zero wild pokemon with it, and lost the rival fight (and learned that you CAN lose that fight and still progress). The only time Cyndaquil ever fought was to catch Geodude right above Route 29, which was in turn used to catch a Jigglypuff in the same spot, giving me the same two I started with in Red, only kinda harder to raise at first. I gave Jigglypuff the switch for exp treatment until it learned Pound, and conveniently, Geodude learned Rock Throw at the same exact time, so they were both ready to take on the beginning game pokemon.

Once in Violet City, I leveled up at the Sprout Tower before facing Falkner, both of which were moderately easy, the biggest obstacle being Pidgeotto's Mud Slap lowering my accuracy with each hit. Once I got the Zephyrbadge, I went down to Route 32 and caught myself a Hoppip to use for the first time ever, having to do the same thing to it as I did to Jigglypuff in order to get Tackle at Lv10, which took more time and trainers than I would have hoped. Once Hoppip could fight, I took it through Union Cave, still trying to avoid trainers when possible, for the future team members.

I made it to Azelea safely, and gave Hoppip the pleasure of defeating most of the rockets in the Slowpoke Well, with a little help from Jigglypuff, and kind of a lot of help from Geodude. I wanted to get Hoppip to evolve at this point, but Jigglypuff was also a bit underleveled, so I got the team to Lv16 before fighting Bugsy. After netting the Hivebadge, I had to fight that rival guy again, and the combined effort of his three pokemon was just what I needed to evolve my Hoppip into a Skiploom. Once he was down, I got Cyndaquil back out so he could cut the bush in Ilex Forest and I could get my Headbutt TM for Skiploom.

The reason I wanted Headbutt so bad was to get a Pineco for the team, which never ended up happening yet, despite how common it should be to find one, and despite how much time I put into it. With the time I spent trying for Pineco, Ralph the Fisher even called me to alert me about a swarm of Qwilfish, which was my next target for the team, even if I had to go all the way back to Route 32 to get one. Luckily, Qwilfish was MUCH easier to find than Pineco, and I was able to catch it after a failed Lure Ball and a couple Great Balls. Unfortunately, it was at Lv5, so I have to do quite a bit of leveling.

And that's it so far.

My Current Team:

Qwilfish Lv7

-Tackle
-Poison Sting

Jigglypuff Lv20

-Sing
-Pound
-Defense Curl
-Rollout

Geodude Lv20

-Tackle
-Defense Curl
-Rock Throw
-Magnitude

Skiploom Lv19

-Headbutt
-Synthesis
-Poisonpowder
-Stun Spore

Next time, hopefully Pineco.

Well I arrived to Petalburg, and went to the gym straight away!
Beaten all the trainers inside, and went for the gym leader. I was suprised how easy the battle was! Skarmory was pwning like crazy!
After the battle got the Surf and surfed to dewford, and eventually to Slatenport battling trainers along the way!
Got to Mauville and solved the New Mauville event.
After about half an hour later, I was in the weather institute, dealing with team aqua!
Later got to Fortree, got the Devon Scope.
Wynona was a piece of cave, due to my Pokemon being at a higher leven then her.

So, uh, kind of a lot happened since my last update, like for example, switching from Gold to Crystal. So yeah, my Johto run's happening on Crystal now.

Crystal Progress:
Spoiler:

-Got Cyndaquil as my starter (for Cut), and used it only to catch Geodude.
-I also caught a Hoppip on Route 30, and had to use the switch-exp method of raising it until Lv10.
-Got my HM05 and Zephyrbadge from Violet City and made my way to Azalea under a low profile.
-Once in Azalea, I beat every last rocket, and then every last gym trainer, as well as the leader, using Hoppip and Geodude.
-Once I was able to Headbutt trees, I tried for Pineco again, which went a LOT smoother than last time, as I got him on the 2nd or 3rd try.
-Caught a Jigglypuff on Route 34.
-Went back to New Bark Town (by foot) to abuse the daylight savings time trick until Fisher Ralph called me about a swarm of Qwilfish.
-Caught Qwilfish, and trained against all the trainers I had previously skipped up to Goldenrod City.
-Fought Whitney, who's Miltank only gave me trouble until I brought out Geodude, who learned Selfdestruct upon beating her.
-Fought my way to Ecruteak, and immediately skipped it to catch Magnemite on Route 39.
-Fought Rival, who went down to my new Magnemite and Skiploom.
-Beat all 5 Kimono Girls to get my Surf, which helped Qwilfish immensily!
-I forget who beat Morty, but he was pretty easy (or I got lucky), so it was probably Geodude.
-Fought all the trainers along Routes 39 & 40 and the ones in the lighthouse because I wanted Geodude and Skiploom to evolve.
-Went to Cianwood to fight Chuck and his suboordinates.
-Went back to Olivine because I for got Strength.
-Went back to Cianwood to beat Chuck for sure this time. Primeape went down to Pineco, and Poliwrath to Jumpluff.
-Went back to Olivine to cure Amphy.
-Went back to Cianwood because I forgot the Secretpotion, and Fly, which I will never use.
-Went back to Olivine to cure Amphy and fight Jasmine. I thought it'd be fun to take out her Magnemite with mine, and it was, but then I just surfed Steelix and Magnitude'd the other Magnemite for my Mineralbadge(?).
-Went to Mahogany Town to defeat the fabled Red Gyarados and earn my Magneton. (Forretress too)

And, yeah.

Current Team:

Graveler Lv31

-Tackle
-Selfdestruct
-Rock Throw
-Magnitude

Qwilfish Lv31

-Surf
-Poison Sting
-Spikes
-Minimize

Jumpluff Lv31

-Fire Punch

Well I dashed through the rain route and went straight to the Safari zone! I caught a Xatu there and then went back through the same route to train it. Later on I got to Lilycove City! went to mt. Pyre and flew back to Slaterport City for the Team Aqua event, and late or kicked their butts in their hideout in lilycove. Then I surfed to Mossdeep city whooping a** all the way there! Those twins were very hard to beat, but i managed to pull it off on the third try! now I'll go to Sootopolis...

Will wasn't too hard. Forretress and Magneton did most of the fight, with Qwilfish even contributing as well.

Koga:
-Koga went down easily to Wigglytuff's Fire Punch and Graveler's Rock Throw and Earthquake. Magneton was needed for Crobat, and it did the job perfectly.

Bruno:
Forretress was ideal, since it had insane defenses, and was resistance to most attacks. I pulled Jumpluffout for Onix and Machamp, but otherwise it was just Forretress.

Karen:
Once again, Forretress for its defense, and Graveler for its offense. I used Jumpluff on Murkrow because it's a Murkrow.

Lance:
-Lance was, and always will be, the easiest of them all. Magneton took out Gyarados, Qwilfish froze the Dragonites, Graveler rocked Aerodactyl, and also Charizard.

Yep, the E4.

After the E4:
-Got the S.S. Ticket
-Taught Magneton Thunderbolt (FINALLY)
-Boarded the S.S. Aqua to Vermilion.
-Did the Power Plant mission first thing!
-Got the Poke Flute station to wake up and capture Snorlax
-Replaced Wigglytuff, with Snorlax
-Found Misty at the Cerulean Cape, and fought her back in the gym. I had to resort to Magneton and Jumpluff to win.
-Fought Lt. Surge with Graveler (self-explanatory fight)
-Fought Erika with Qwilfish and Jumpluff
-Fought Sabrina and won with some Forretress and Magneton
-Fought Brock and won with Graveler and Magneton
-Fought Janine. I forgot who I won with, but it happened.
-Fought Blaine with Jumpluff. .........yeah, switched to Graveler.
-Fought Blue with the whole gang!
-Got permission to explore Mt. Silver, so I did
-Fought Red

Red:
Pikachu went down to one of Graveler's Earthquakes, but I also took the time to max out Atk and Def, which helped none against Espeon, who I had to seed with Jumpluff and endure/Shadow Ball with Snorlax. Other Snorlax also needed a seeding, which, when I switched to Forretress, healed me more than Snorlax could harm me. Charizard was tough for the reason that Graveler has such low Sp. Def, and Charizard has such high Sp. Atk, which combine to Flamethrower taking over 50% of Graveler's HP, so I had to use a Max Revive to pull it off. Blastoise couldn't stand up to Qwilfish, who had the advantage with Sludge Bomb, while Blastoise has no moves to fight a fellow water type. Venusaur could hardly even dent Forretress, but it could heal any damage I dealt to it, which wasn't much in the first place, so I threw it into a Struggle fit, and won the fight.
