Yes I agree with both comments above even though I did enjoy the gameplay in ranger, the storyline in dungeon was better
though I really do love the idea of the ranger and it's only improved in tracks of light (I've played it)

Dungeon all the way.

I find using attacks way more fun than breaking your Nintendo screen by circling and circling and circling. The story is also much better in Dungeon than Ranger.
I'll have a signature that's both witty and within the rules when I get reacquainted with Pokécommunity.

Dungeon. I never really could get in to Ranger. It didn't grab me

I'm another who likes Dungeon. The very basic reason as to why is because I really don't like being forced to use the stylus, and since that's what Ranger uses, I don't like playing.

The other reason is the storyline. Not just the fact that a human turns into a Pokemon, but everything else. I cried while playing Mystery Dungeon Red (it's the only one I've gotten far enough in to say that), and Time/Darkness just grabs me. It's a refreshing change from the other plots in Pokemon games.

West, on a plane bound west
I see her stretching out below
Land, blessed mother land
The place where I was born

Scars, she’s got her scars
Sometimes it starts to worry me
Cause lose, I don’t want to lose
Sight of who we are

From the mountains high
To the wave-crashed coast
There’s a way to find
Better days I know

It’s been a long hard ride
Got a ways to go
This is still the place
That we all call home

Shiro

Dad! Or should I say... Big cheese of Hoshido?

PMD, hands down. I enjoyed Ranger enough, but PMD is just so much easier to get involved in. The plotlines were a lot better and more original imo, there was just more to do, and ... It was just overall better.

So yeah, Mystery Dungeon.
