I also won't evolve Kyle until after Wattson, because otherwise all my pokemon would probably be OHKO'ed by thunder. But it won't matter anyways--he's only level 16 right now, I'm close to Wattson, and he evolves at 22 so I don't think I have much of a choice anyway.
Buy a pokeball, make sure you have a spare spot in your Party, and when it evolves, you will see shedinja in that empty spot, and he still won't get hit by thunder. Alsoi, make sure you buy a POKEBALL, Great Balls and Ultra balls and any other kind of pokeball won't work. It has to be a regular old pokeball.

Well, I started the game. Nothing interesting there… My name is now Rory, and my rival is Ike, which has been my Name/Rival since Pokémon Yellow. So, let’s get down to business.

Water MonoType Challenge #1

Spoiler:

So, I woke up one morning, a Saturday I believe, and watched “Let’s Ask Prof. Rowan!” I’ve been watching it for a while, and it’s pretty good. Well, after it had finished, Ike burst into my room, rambling on about the show. And he thought up a brilliant idea, we could go ask him for a starter Pokémon! He rambled on for a little longer, and we headed outside.

I talked to mum for a while, and then headed on out, but not before warning me about the tall grass, oops… Anyhow, I headed on up to Route 201, but was told by someone that he was at his house, so I checked there. He ran into me as I opened the door, and was about to leave when he forgot something. I headed in with him, and turned out he’d forgotten everything. Then he yelled about fining me £10 million or something. Finally I and Ike were on Route 201, and now I owe him £10 million, it’ll be a while before I can pay him back.

We were about to hop across the grass to Sandgem Town, but guess who stopped us? Prof. Rowan! He seemed a little annoyed that we tried to cross the grass without Pokémon, but he started to mumble amongst himself, and then asked if we truly loved Pokémon. Indeed we did, and we convinced him so. Soon we met his assistant, Dawn, but that’s not important. So guess what? He gave us Pokémon!

He had three with him; a Turtwig, a Chimchar, and a Piplup. Ike instantly chose a Turtwig, and I fell in love with Piplup. And we were instantly thrown into a Pokémon battle.

xxx

Piplup vs. Turtwig

Piplup started with a Growl, in an attempt to weaken the Turtwig’s strength. Luckily it was faster, so it hit first, but Ike countered with Withdraw. Piplup followed up with a pound, but the Turtwig tackled too. I pounded again, but was weakened by Withdraw. The attacks went on, with not much interesting happening. That is until Piplup delivered the final blow, woot!

Result – Win

xxx

We headed home, and explained the story to our parents. Mum was a little worried at first, but soon realised that this was a once in a life time chance. So I headed to thank the Prof. for the Pokémon, I’m going to miss Twinleaf, but there’s so much more to see in the world. I ran into Ike on the way up, and he proposed catching a legendary Pokémon. I thought it was a little too hasty; we’d only just gotten our first Pokémon. But I humoured him and headed up to Lake ---, where we saw this weird guy, going on about time and space, we managed to work out his name was Cyrus, but that was about it. Soon after he left, we heard a strange cry from a Pokémon. It was coming from the island in the centre, but it was impossible to get to without swimming, so we left it to another time. And we didn’t have any Pokéballs, which would have made catching it much more difficult…

He left, and I headed on up to Sandgem to thank the Prof. I ran into a couple of Pokémon, who were easily dealt with by Piplup. Soon I ran into Dawn again, and we walked up to the laboratory, and we ran into Ike again, who had just been to see the Prof. Us three chatted for a while, and Prof. recommend that I try and find every Pokémon in Sinnoh. I fell in love with the Idea, but then he mentioned Nicknaming my Piplup. I like the idea of making him feel more personal, but I declined. Next, he gave me a Pokedex for recording Pokémon. Finally, Dawn gave me a run through of useful buildings like the Pokémon centre and the Pokemart. I spent some money on Pokéballs, because I wanted to build up a team.

I checked Route 201 for a Pokémon, and I ran across a Bidoof. Which after a short battle, I caught. I taught it the Return TM, because it receives a STAB bonus, and I plan to use it often and gain its trust. I headed home to tell mum of my plans, training along the way. Everything was sorted with my parents, but Ike hadn’t said anything to his, but his parents gave me a parcel for him that I had to deliver. It was fairly small, and fit in my backpack with ease.

Back in Sandgem, Dawn taught me some Pokémon catching tricks, which could help a lot in further fights. After that I trained a little, then made my way to Jubilife, at which point I met up with Dawn again, and then we met a man called Looker, who was a Police Officer or something. Once Dawn and Looker had left, I headed to the Trainer School to check up on some battle information, at which point I ran into Ike. I gave him the parcel, which contained two maps, and Ike gave me one to help with my travels.

Afterwards, I won a Poketch, and trained some more against trainers and Pokémon. I check the map, and it said that Oreburgh was the location of the next gym, so I headed there. But on the way, I ran into Ike again, and we battled.

xxx

Piplup vs. Starly

This fight was won easily. A bubble or two managed to lower Starly’s speed, and was soon followed up by a Pound, which knocked it out. And with Piplup taking minimal damage.

Piplup vs. Turtwig

Piplup struck with Pound, in an attempt to weaken it. Unfortunately, Turtwig managed to strike back with an immensely powerful tackle, weakening Piplup. I took a final strike with Pound, but was taken down swiftly by another tackle.

Bidoof vs. Turtwig

This is where Bidoof really shone. Due to no reason at all, Return came off ridiculously powerful, despite Turtwig’s attempt to dampen the power with Withdraw.

Result – Win

xxx

Afterwards, I headed on to Oreburgh once more, fighting the odd trainer and the occasional level up. I entered Oreburgh gate, only to greeted by a Hiker, who kindly gave me the RockSmash HM. I was grateful, but not as much as when I ran into the third member of my team, a Psyduck. Piplup was first up, and weakened it with Pound, but due to its currently low HP, it was finished with a Scratch. Bidoof was up next, and used Tackle, which lowered the foe to a fraction of its health. Psyduck used WaterSport (Useless at this point), and I threw a Pokéball, which worked!

Ok, time for my next update on my Ultimate Normal Type challenge.
Preview
This one is a Biggun, with two gyms, some team rocket fights, like, about two rival fights, and a third team member! I'll seperate it into two sections by gym.
Also, due to the length, it will be in Spoiler Tags.
Cerulean Gym
Spoiler:
After Beating Brock in my last update, I headed toward Mt. Moon, battling the trainers along the way. Somewhere in there, Rattata learned Hyper Fang, which so far has been domination and ownage. When I finally got into Mt. Moon, battling several trainers along the way, I found *Drumroll* a Team Rocket Grunt!!!!!! His hacked level 16 Raticate (Rattata doesn't evolve until level 20!) owned my Rattata, and after being sent back into the pokemon center, I headed back into Mt. Moon to train, and caught a Clefairy!!!! And caught it, of course. I would've evolved it immediately with a moon stone I found in Mt. Moon, but after looking up it's moveset, I decided to wait until after level 31, when it learns Metronome. Otherwise, I would have to relearn Metronome. While training it, I found other great items, like Watergun TM, Mega Punch TM (both of which I taught to clefairy), and an HP up. There were some others too, like potion, but obviously weren't as useful. So anyway, after beating all the Rocket Grunts, Pidgey evolving along the way, I found some Fossils. Unfortunately, some dude wanted them and battled me for them. After he got owned, he let me have one fossil. That's okay, because if I was playing through the game regularly, I would've only wanted one fossil anyway.
After getting through Mt. Moon, I healed up and battled Misty, also, Rattata evolved in the gym. Anyway, I lost to misty, I took out her Staryu, but her Starmie destroyed me. So, I go to grind, getting the whole team up to level 20, then I owned Misty. I got bubble beam TM, taught it to Clefairy over water gun, and that's the end of this section!

Vermillion Gym
Spoiler:
After Healing up from my Cerulean Gym Battle, I headed up to Nugget Bridge. On my way, Bruno shows up (He's my Rival, if you don't already know)and challenges me to a battle, I own him, again, since my team is a few levels higher than his, thanks to grinding. So then I challenge the Nugget Bridge, get my Nugget, beat the Team Rocket Grunt, and got the SS Ticket from Bill.
Next I healed up in Cerulean, and headed south, through the underground path, and ended up in Vermillion. Got on the SS Aqua, didn't battle any trainers, except for my Rival, which I owned, again. Then I got HM01 Cut after curing the captain, and left the SS aqua.
Then I got my level 6 (from travelling back and forth from Pallet to Viridian) and taught it cut, then went into the gym. After battling the trainers and solving the puzzle, I went on to fight Lt. Surge, the Lightning American.
He was owned by Raticate's Hyper Fang, simple as that. I don't think Raticate even took a hit.

And that's where I stopped. Next update: Possibly another team member? Gotta decide if it's worth not evolving Eevee. A gym leader with a green thumb, and more than likely another encounter with Bruno.

Meh, I'm not talking about the best type, I'm just talking on a favorite basis. My favorite Pokemon is Starmie, second is Milotic, and generally, I like Water Types the best.

To whoever advised Shedinja: I did that for my Ghost Monotype. It proved difficult, as you can still be hit by Supersonic (which Magnemite and Magneton both have).

To whoever has strong feelings about soloing Monotypes: I frown upon using one Pokemon the entire time, but what I oftentimes find myself doing is having like a Nidoking and Nidoqueen for my Ground monotype, training them both until like the fourth gym, and then find myself only using Nidoking instead of both of them for the rest of the game. It ends up being a solo sort of, but not really.

Another pretty big update today. I did get the 4th Gym badge, however, I decided not to use Eevee. Just not worth it. Also, my Clefairy finally reached level 31 and learned metronome, so I used my Moon Stone.
Lets see... after beating Lt. Surge, I went back up to Cerulean, headed West (I think?) towards rock tunnel. After somehow clearing it without Flash, I headed to Lavender, battled Bruno in the Graveyard building, whatever it's called. He was owned, again. Then I headed to Celadon (this is when Clefairy learned Metronome) and entered team Rocket Hideout. While I was there, Pidgeotto learned Wing Attack (finally). I defeated Giovanni, and then shortly after beat Erika, she was a piece of cake, thanks to Pidgeotto, even though it was poisoned like the entire gym. Then I went back to Lavender and climbed the Graveyard place, beat all three Rocket Grunts there, and rescued Mr. Fuji, who didn't really need rescuing at all. Anyway, I got the Pokeflute and that's where it stops.

Coming up next!!!!!!: Sorry, but the only thing I really know about for sure is my 4th team member.

After reading over my first post, I’ve realised just how long it is and how long it took to write. So I’m shrinking it slightly. Here we go!

Water MonoType Challenge #2

Spoiler:

Once I’d caught myself I shiny new Psyduck, I did some mild training, even though I wouldn’t really need it since the next gym was a Rock-type one, but I got my team up to about Lv10. Anyway, I passed through Oreburgh Gate, and battled two trainers, who posed little threat to my team. Once I’d entered Oreburgh City, a kid showed me around, but we were stopped by Ike, who said the Gym leader wasn’t here. I was a little disappointed, but that’s just something I’ll have to deal with, but then he said I could talk to him at the mines. They’re open to the public, so I thought “Why not?”

After some battling against some Miners (Bidoof took a beating here), I finally found the Gym Leader, who was called Roark. He seemed like a nice guy, and we headed back to the Gym for an official Gym battle. Here’s how it went!

xxx

Rory vs. Roark

Psyduck vs. Geodude

My first important battle with Psyduck, and it was a cake walk. One WaterGun brought it down, nice and easy.

Psyduck vs. Onix

This battle was just as easy, but my team didn’t fare quite as well. Psyduck went for another WaterGun, but Onix beat him to it with a StealthRock. Although WaterGun still OHKO’d Onix.

Piplup vs. Cranidos

I swapped out Psyduck for Piplup, to ease the flow of EXP, but it didn’t go as well as I’d hoped. Cranidos hit first with Headbutt and hit about ¾ of its health. Piplup’s Bubble did minute damage, but lowered the foes speed, and I managed to hit it with another Bubble, which once again, lowered Cranidos’s speed. But another Headbutt knocked out Piplup.

Bidoof vs. Cranidos

None of Bidoof’s moves will do much to Cranidos, so I overused Growl. Bidoof was faster due to the Bubble after effect. Each Growl lowered Cranidos’s attack, but he was eventually beaten by another Headbutt.

Psyduck vs. Cranidos

This was the final fight. With Cranidos having weakened Speed and Crippled attack, a couple of WaterGun’s beat it.

Result – Win

xxx

I had won the CoalBadge, my first in a long line of badges. Roark also gave me the StealthRock TM as a parting gift. I planned on returning to Twinleaf to tell my family the good news, but I ran into Ike again, who said that there was another Gym in Eterna City, which was just a stone’s throw away from here. I had to head back to Jubilife to reach it though, so I headed there, but on the way I found a lone Geodude (HM slave) who I caught, then I healed my team, and then headed north.

What I found was a little scary. There stood Prof. Rowan and Dawn, being confronted by some strange people. It seemed like they wanted the Professors research, but me and Dawn weren’t going to let that happen. So we fought them with our Pokémon!

xxx

Rory/Dawn vs. Grunt/Grunt

Bidoof/Chimchar vs. Stunky/Glameow

This was my first double battle, and it was great. Glameow went first, using Growl, but then Chimchar followed up with an Ember, severely damaging Glameow. Stunky attempted to poison Bidoof, but the attack missed. Then Bidoof hit Glameow with Return, knocking it out.

Bidoof/Chimchar vs. Stunky

This seemed like an easy fight, and it was. Chimchar used Ember again, and damaged Stunky by about half. The Skunk-Pokémon poisoned Chimchar with PoisonGas, and Bidoof followed up with another Return. Stunky still stood, but just. And the fire monkey hit Stunky with Scratch, knocking it out.

Result – Win

xxx

The grunts ran crying, and Rowan congratulated us on the win, and on my first badge, then the two headed back the Sandgem, and I went north, to Floroma. This was a convenient stop between Eterna and Jubilife. I fought some more, then entered a cave of some sort, but was blocked by a variety of rocks. Lucky I caught the Geodude, as it smashed through the rocks with ease. Soon I was in Floroma town, and took in the wonderful smell of flowers, and the great views.
Unfortunately, for a trainer, there is little of interest in Floroma. So I headed east to Eterna, but met a young girl, who was worrying about her father who was trapped in the Valley Windworks. I headed up there, but it was guarded by a man dressed the same as the ones who had stopped Dawn and the Prof. I talked to him, and asked to pass, but he pushed me back and threw out a Pokémon. It was easily beaten, another Glameow I believe. But he ran back into the Windworks and locked it!

However, he mentioned something about another key owned by someone in Floroma Meadow. I headed there, but I ran into a Sea slug Pokémon, Shellos. I thought its Ground/Water-Type could help with Electric-Types. So it soon joined my team! After a little training I found another person being held up by these men. This time they wanted Honey to attract Pokémon, but the saw me, and I once again battled. Shellos shone here, talking on three Pokémon by itself, but it wasn’t a particularly interesting fight. Once they’d left, the man who I’d saved (Use the term loosely) gave me some honey, but I don’t think I’ve used it…

Anyway, I found the key and unlocked the door, causing the grunt to run. After beating a few Grunts (And teaching Bidoof Rollout) I saw someone else. She called herself Mars, and seemed to be an important member of this group. She was with another who also seemed to be important, but she still bossed him around. Soon I confronted them, and she made me an offer. If I can beat her, she’ll leave.

xxx

Rory vs. Mars

Bidoof vs. Zubat

I swear I heard her laugh at this, but I ignored it. First I used DefenseCurl to power up Rollout, but she beat me to it and made Bidoof flinch with Bite. I tried it again, and was successful. Then Bidoof used Rollout, which lowered it to half health. The next turn Zubat was down by a powered up Rollout.

Bidoof vs. Purugly

Bidoof’s Rollout was still going strong, so I let it run, lowering it to half health. But after that Bidoof went down, but he did well on such a powerful Pokémon.

Shellos vs. Purugly

Purugly hit first with Scratch, weakening Shellos to about half health, but Shellos fought back with Mudbomb, which blinded it, making its moves miss. Another Mudbomb had the same effect, but Purugly’s FaintAttack knocked it out.

Piplup vs. Purugly

Purugly was on low health and was half blind, so you can see where this is going. A Bubble or two later knocked out the Tiger thing, and I had won

Result – Win

xxx

As promised, she left. Along with the rest of her minions, and the girl ran up to the Windworks and burst in. I talked to her father who was being held prisoner, and he said about a Pokémon that appears on Fridays. But it was a Saturday, so I left it, then healed up and headed north to Eterna.

Update Time:
K...so I've been busy doing catch-up AP summer work and haven't had time to update, while I've been playing the game still. So this'll be longish...

-Did the Suicune thing and caught it
(Turns out Suicune makes the PERFECT hm slave, so I taught it cut, waterfall, whirlpool, surf)
-Decided to go on ahead and hatch a new tyrogue egg, which evolved into a Hitmonchan. Wanted a Hitmonlee, but what are you gonna do. His name is Potassium
-Went up to Blackthorn and did our dragon-rapin thing
(Beat Clair but she was a b!+ch and made us go talk to some old fart)
-Went back to NB town, got the Masterball, went up to battle the elite4 (after beating rival)
-Was actually cake...Will sucked at first cuz Psychics rape fighting :(, but Poliwrath's ice punch saved me with his Xatus. Koga wasn't a problem because Hitmonchan's firepunch was beautiful, Bruno got surf'd to death, and Karen just pummel'd to a pulp, then lance got ice punched the crap out of too
-Got on a boat (motha pucka don't you ever forget it) and rode it kanto
-Tracked down a thief like CSI Miami and saved a Powerplant
-Proceeded to beat Kanto gyms:
Brock = surf'd to death <- Nancy
Misty = thunderpunch'd <- Potassium
Lt. Surge = dig'd up <- Protein
Erika = firepunch'd <- Potassium
Janice = strengthed <- Muscles
Sabrina = mega punch'd (took a few tries) <- Potassium
Blaine = surf'd up <- Nancy
Green = a mixture of my fighting pokes' beastiality, for his types are all over the place

-And now I stand having to grind up a crapload, because Red's espeon RAPED repeat RAPED my entire team with Psychic in two seconds. Like it wasn't even funny how fast it was. Hopefully I can get Potassium (my hitmonchan) some speed so he can get a nice mega punch in really fast and end it

Current Team:

Nancy (Poliwrath) Lv 57
-Surf
-Hypnosis
-Ice Punch
-Body Slam

Muscles (Machoke) Lv 57
-Low Kick
-Strength
-Earthquake
-Cross Chop

Protein (Hitmontop) Lv 55
-Headbutt
-DizzyPunch
-Triple Kick
-Dig

Potassium (Hitmonchan) Lv 56
-Mega Punch
-Thunder Punch
-Mach Punch
-Fire Punch

SupaSlave (Suicune) Lv 40
FlySlave (Noctowl) Lv 16

So the plan is to grind a few levels up, to the 60s i guess...and maybe throw in some good TM's to my moveset.

^^By the way Dahlia411, I think it said in the beginning description somewhere that if you have psychic, you can use your starter at first because the Abra and Ralts families don't have much going for them attack-wise. So you go do yo thang.

Finally almost done with my Normal Challenge. I've done SOOOOOOOOO much since my last update.
Tried catching Tauros and Chansey in the Safari Zone. Failed.
Beat Koga.
Spent a long time trying to figure out how to get into Saffron, finally find out you had to buy a freshwater from the Dep Store.
Beat Giovanni in the Silph Co. building
Also beat Bruno there.
Got my Surf/Strength Slave Lapras.
Beat the Karate King and got Hitmonchan for absolutely no apparent reason since I can't use it anyway.
Beat Sabrina.
Surfed from Fushcia to Seafoam Islands.
Decided to see what my Glitch pokemon there were, just for fun. They sucked.
KOed Articuno.
Got to Cinnabar Island
Went in the Mansion Place, Got the Secret Key
Beat Blaine
And that's it.

will somebody suggest a type for me to do???

PS: I HAVE A FLYING CHALLENGE ALREADY, and this one i am asking for is HG only

PLZ!!!!!

West, on a plane bound west
I see her stretching out below
Land, blessed mother land
The place where I was born

Scars, she’s got her scars
Sometimes it starts to worry me
Cause lose, I don’t want to lose
Sight of who we are

From the mountains high
To the wave-crashed coast
There’s a way to find
Better days I know

It’s been a long hard ride
Got a ways to go
This is still the place
That we all call home
