OK, we all agree that vampires are both awesome and cool (even if Stephenie Meyer is trying to **** that up for the world) and well this awesome coolness has produced a fair number of Anime/manga/shows/novels. I was just wondering what's your favourite?

As i said there is a lot on the market so I'm sure there will be a varied response to this thread.

My favourites would have to be the lighter Anime in Karin and to a lesser extent Rosario + Vampire. On the more serious side i really enjoyed Blood+ I guess it just depends what frame of mind I'm in .

I haven't seen a lot of the big names like Vampire Knight and Hellsing but I'm sure some of you have.

Over to you.

There's actually a lot of anime out there that have vampire elements even if it's not obvious by the title or the synopsis of the show. If you've seen sola, you know there are vampire-like creatures even though they aren't portrayed as blood-thirsting creatures, but they cannot step into sunlight, so that makes them a vampire, right? Same with Hakuouki.

But I digress. I don't really have a favorite vampire anime, but the first season of Vampire Knight was very engaging, same with the second season, but I think they made that series too out there or too dramatic. Oh wait. I just suddenly remembered Blood+ in the second slot of my favorite anime list. That would probably have to be my top favorite vampire anime because it had so many elements worth watching even though there were some parts that just bothered me like that one chick raping the little boy.

There are some titles I've watched and enjoyed like Rosario + Vampire, Karin, and Chrno Crusade (I think there were some vampire-like creatures even though it was mainly focused on demons), but I would have liked them more if they were more mature like Blood+ and Hellsing. Meaning, less fanservice. However, what would Rosario and Karin be if there wasn't fanservice?

If the world we dreamed of exists anywhere,
let's go look for it, beyond the wind.

You mention Blood+, but have you tried out Blood: The Last Vampire? I believe that's where Blood+ got it's inspiration.

Gankutsuou has a couple of hints and allusions to vampires, and one of the main characters definitely has the feel of a vampire, but it's not a series about vampires. It's still pretty darn good since it's basically a retelling of the Count of Monte Cristo.

I'll give Blood: TLV a go when i want to watch somethign a little more serious again. I'l also give Vampire Knight and any others a go too.

I liked the plot of Karin and hardly noticed the fanservice element to it. I knew it was there but it wasn't as distracting as say R+V in the battle....battle...*maka's ass* ect.

And yes the part in Blood+ with Diva was pretty disturbing.

For anime I'd say Vampire Knight was decent. I didn't get to watch all of the series though.

I prefer reading mangas to be honest, and there was a good Vampire series I picked up, it's called Millenium Snow. It's a pretty short series, only having 3 volumes, I wish it went on further. ;; But I loved every bit of it.

Rosario+Vampire because I off the comedy and the action also because it depicts vampires as the most powerful race of monsters, something I never seen or read. Also Blood + was really good because sometimes I forget that they are vampires. They don't do to many vampirific things that's why I sometimes forget xD. The action, the characters, and some of the romance was really well done.
