Guys, relax. It's up to the challengee how challenging they want to make their game. It's not anyone else's place to say, "well, mine's more challenging, you suck," because then we all sound like football players who stand around in changerooms looking at each other's junk and trying to figure out who's biggest. It doesn't matter, actually, who's doing a more challenging game. Be nice.

Chose Torchic, since I've never used one before, named Ghonneria.

Battled May's Mudkip and WON =D Went straight from level Five to seven =DD
Did some grinding in the route you find May in, all the way to level 10 ;P

Worms evolved into Cascoon >.>
A wild Zizagoon scored TWO critical hits in a ROW against Worms, putting her straight to 3HP! I managed to Jet away in time though =D
That's two close encounters, and both times luck has been in my favour ;D
In grinding Worms poisoned a wild Ralts, what? Synchronize? Dx

I actually based my rules off Ravesage's rules to make it challenging, as well as fair. The challenger can change whatever the hell they want, its not bad or anything, the rules were just to set a guidline.
Dude, just edit the rules and state that some of them are optional. And don't be a dick about it.

The nicknaming Pokemon aspect is not a required rule, it just makes it more fun.

The comic thing is not a required rule. People who think it is might be put off and decide not to take the challenge since they can't draw, or don't have MS paint. And to be quite honest, those Nuzlocke comics (from the website you posted) aren't funny.

Will update my Red challenge tomorrow.

I agreed with every you said up to here, are talking about the orignal Nuzlockes?
Indeed I am. Packed with recycled memes and too many references to unrelated things (key words there are 'too many'. Making some references is fine, but I read one with at least 5). Just lacks originality, as far as I'm concerned.

^ That's fine. I just think you should edit the rules and clearly state that it's optional to avoid misleading some users.

Just giving my advice.

Edit: Nevermind, you have already.

Cort's Nuzlocke Challenge Ep. 1

Spoiler:
My name is Cort and today I started my Nuzlocke challenge. I named my rival Dick. You know, like Richard, just shorter. Anyways. Dick. Yeah.
The first addition to my team was Emerald, a level five piplup. We destroyed Starlys and Bidoofs all the way till level 10. I missed my chance to catch a starly on route 201 - DAMNIT - but I caught a Shinx on route 202, and named it Felicity.
Finally, we arrived in Jubilife city. I went to the trainer's school and kicked some ass - two Abras, despite their super effective hidden powers, lost to Felicity.

I was further than this. But. The old DS has an exceptionally inconvienient power button, that can be accidentally pressed when the UP control pad is depressed. FML. FML FML FML FML FML FML FML FML FML FML.

Team so far:

Emerald [Piplup LVL 10]
-Bubble
-Growl
-Pund

Felicity [Shinx LVL 9]
-Charge
-Tackle
-Leer

Until next time.

^I'm not criticizing you or anything, but Nuzlocke isn't ABOUT dumping Pokemon for their natures, even if its Adamant Abra, I wouldn't dump it early in the game, it can't be that horrible.
I'm just saying, you can do what you want, but just remember you don't try to get the best Pokemon in Nuzlocke.

Oh, obviously. I just already had a Shinx (Felicity), that was level ten, with a good nature, so it seemed dumb to raise another one.

EDIT: Doesn't matter now, because I lost my F***ing game up till the Trainer's school. ERGH.

I just realised that if I'd switched my Swinub out to fight the Kimono's Jolteon, my Slowbro, Feraligtr and Swinub would probably have survived. Oh well, **** happens. I'll be less rash next time.

My new and improved (in a negative way - y'know, like, downwards-ish) team:

Gyarados (Naughty, Lvl 23)
Machop (Lonely, Lvl 23)
Dratini (Hardy, lvl 23)

I almost got killed by a Level 32 Raticate in Mt. Mortar, and then by refighting the Fisherman along the route above Union Cave. How the hell was I know he'd grind his little Goldeen into a Level 40 Seaking monster and almost kill my new and not-so-improved team?! Argh. Luckily my new Gyara tanked two Waterfalls and KOed with Dragon Rage, or I probably would have cried. And restarted for good.

And a final note on Dratini: how the hell do you people find the patience to train that little piece of crap? Its attacks don't have the power to punch through damp tissue paper. Coincidentally, that tissue paper can also be used as an apt depiction of its immense defensive capablities. Seriously. It could die to two Karate Chops from a Machop like, 5 levels lower than it.

I wish I still had Tim (my Feraligtr) with me. Boohoo.

But at least I grabbed a Macho Brace from the traded Machop. I'm seriously considering training my Pineco up (it's Adamant) and attempting to rape the world with Gyro Ball. Eh. I'll see.

Rapin' sounds pretty good, though I don't see how something as derpy-looking and adorable as Dragonite could rape everything without remorse. :P I wanted Forretress since I was hoping for a Steel-type, but now that I think about it Steelix may be a really valuable addition to my team. I've always had a horrible Electric weakness, which will only worsen if I pick up a Murkrow, so maybe I really should consider evolving that Impish lil' Onix loafing around in the bocks.

Or maybe I'll just find a Magnemite somewhere and get a Magnezone. Bottom line is that I NEED TO NOT GET RAPED BY THUNDAHBOLTZ.

CHAPTER 12 – Gunning for Victory

Spoiler:
Wallace proved to be a pushover in the end. I was expecting to have trouble with his Milotic due to its high Special Defence rendering my Electric attacks less deadly, but Major cleaned up with little trouble. I’d earned the final badge, and now nothing stood between me and the Elite 4, and success!

I Surfed east on Route 128 to Ever Grande City, the site of Victory Road. For those that don’t know, Victory Road exists in every Pokemon game as the final area before the Elite 4. Victory Road is a long, tough series of maze-like caverns, containing high-levelled wild Pokemon and lots of tough trainers. In short, it’s not particularly easy to navigate when you’re not allowed to heal your Pokemon.

With that in mind, I decided to do some more training before I gave it a go, and cleared out a few areas I’d not yet visited, including the Dragon Trainers at the top of the waterfall in Meteor Falls. I couldn’t catch any Pokemon here – so no chance of adding a super-powerful Salamence to my team before the Elite 4 – but a few trainers provided some valuable experience. I also picked up the Dragon Claw TM, which is one of my favourite moves, but none of my Pokemon could learn it. Darn.

By the time I’d cleared these trainers out, my team were looking fairly handy and I decided to brave Victory Road, leaving Swift in the PC because I wouldn’t be needing Fly. In her place I withdrew Curly, so I had all the HM moves covered in case I needed them all. If all went wrong I had some Escape Ropes so I could flee back to the relative safety of the nearest Pokemon Centre anyway. So in I went, and the first Pokemon I bumped into was… a female Golbat.

Now, Golbat can be very useful, because they evolve into Crobat, which are awesome. But the trouble is they don’t evolve in the normal way – by hitting a certain level – instead evolving when their “happiness level” gets high enough. The happiness level is one of the many hidden stats in Pokemon, increasing every 255 steps by 1 point. When the level gets high enough that the Pokemon loves you, it will evolve when it next levels up.

The trouble is, the threshold for happiness evolutions is something like 250 happiness points – meaning that if I wanted to evolve Golbat, I’d have to walk something like 60000 steps with her in my team. That’s a lot of steps and would take a lot of time, and frankly I couldn’t be bothered. I caught the Golbat anyway (JUST in case) and called her Succubus. And on I went.

On a side note – how to the trainers in Victory Road expect to beat the Pokemon league with a single, lv.40ish Pokemon? The Champion’s Pokemon are above level 55, for God’s sake… How did they even beat Wallace?

Anyway, I realised/remembered a few important things during my time in Victory Road. One – I’d never got this far in a Pokemon game without a Fire-type Pokemon in my team. Fire is my favourite type. Sadly Tiny hadn’t made it, so no Fire for me. Sorry Tiny. Secondly, not being allowed to use Repels is annoying. It would have been very handy to deter all wild Pokemon instead of being attacked every 5 steps. Third, at one point Crash was reduced to 14/161HP because I took a risk and assumed he’d survive another hit. I remembered that such risks were ridiculous, especially with my number 1 Pokemon and so close to the finish line. Fourth, there were rumours of a tough little kid around, who came from Petalburg City. Could it be… Wally?

I reached the end of Victory Road. I could see the daylight shining through the exit door. I was mere seconds away from freedom and safety…

“Locke!”

It was Wally. He attacked.

First out was his Altaria. Major paralysed him with Spark, and finished him off with another.

Next out was Delcatty, renowned for Attract-based annoyance tactics. Major threw everything he had into one powerful Thunderbolt, to finish the cloystercat off in one. It worked.

Third, Wally sent out Magneton. I switched in Crash for his immunity to Electric-type attacks; Magneton used his free turn to fire a Thunderbolt, which had no effect on Crash. Then Crash used a quadruple-effective Mud Shot, and Magneton was no more.

This was going well.

Wally threw out Roselia, which was a Grass-type and therefore had moves 4x effective against Crash. Despite what I said before about not taking risks, I decided to use Ice Beam – super-effective against Grass-types, and Roselia was down.

Wally’s last Pokemon was the first her ever caught, now fully evolved and a Psychic-type to be reckoned with. Gardevoir.

Crash hit Gardevoir with his strongest attack, Surf, which only took about 40% of Gradevoir’s health off. Clearly the Psychic-type had a good Special Defence, especially after it used Light Screen. A change of tactics was required, so Crash hit Gardevoir with Mud Shot for some Physical Damage. It didn’t finish Gardevoir off, but while Wally was using a Super potion I had a chance to switch in Spice. Time for a super-effective Shadow Ball; if that didn’t finish Gardevoir off, nothing would.

It missed. Gardevoir had used Double Team to raise its evasion. I feared for Spice.

But there was nothing to fear. Shadow Ball hit second time, and Gardevoir was down. Wally – about 20 levels on average stronger than the last time we fought – was defeated. He said something about how he’d beat me one day, but I wasn’t listening. I left Victory Road and headed to the nearby Pokemon Centre.

I had made it to the final stage of my journey.

The Pokemon League.

Well, I'm sort of bogged down with classes, and thus unable to make the comics, but I finished the Ruby Nuzlocke run. Sentinel, my pelliper fainted in a trainer battle, but as soon as I got out of the trainer battle, I ran into a wild pelliper, which I caught and named Jesus. I had to slightly modify my team because I didn't have Shock Wave any more, so the final team was (something) like this:

Swampert
Ice Beam/Surf/Brick Break/Earthquake

Shiftrey
Giga Drain/Cut/Faint Attack/Strength

MIghtyena
Crunch/Shadow Ball/Rock Smash/Take Down

Absol
Thunderbolt/Water Pulse/Aerial Ace/Flamethrower

Kadabra
Recover/Psychic/Flash/Thief

Pelliper
Surf/Fly/supersonic and wing attack (he turned into an HM slave)

Cort's Journey Part 2
A Journey Gone Awry

This update is quite long, because I had to re-do lots of stuff as I lost my save last time.

Spoiler:

+ After showing the punks at the Trainer's school what's what, and taking their TM, I went to receive my Poketch. Sweet!

+ On Route 204, I found a new addition to my team: Avi, the Brave Starly.

+ We went back to 202 to train Avi against some tough wild pokemon. She has impressive stats, now, even for only being level nine.

+ My battle with Dick was nothing. Cockily, he challenged me, and I defeated his Starly with Emerald and then destroyed his Turtwig with a Wing Attack from Avi. Sorry, Dick. You just aren't hard (I mean good) enough yet. I start to get cocky (intentional pun is intentional). Pff. This challenge will be easy.

+ On route 203, the first Pokemon I saw and caught effectively was an Abra, named Fox. Welcome, Fox. She sucks now, but I'm optimistic that she'll prove useful.

+ Pushed Fox up to level 11.

+ Somehow managed to walk through Oreburgh Gate without seeing anything. I"ll walk back there later to catch something.

+ After finding that the Gym Leader, Roark, is gone from the Gym, I decide to go to the mine. First, though, I heal up at a Pokemon Center and look around town.

+ Some guy gave me a Great Ball because "I have a twinkle in my eye, and he likes it." Eww.

+ I ran as far north as I could to Route 207 and captured a Geodude. He looks promising, potentially, but for now, he's useless. Neo, is his name.

+ I accidentally OHKO'd the first Onix I saw in the Oreburgh Mine.

+ I decided to train in the mine. I can't risk losing anyone against Roark. He's going to give me trouble, I know.

+ Roark went back to the Gym, while I stayed in the mine, teaching my pokemon the rock-hard ways of defense.

+ I also decided that my Abra, Fox, will stay boxed. She doesn't know any moves yet, and I won't put her in unnecessary danger. Neo, level five, will come with me. I may need his defense.

The battle with Roark was a MASSACRE.
Emerald easily OHKO'd his first Geodude with Bubble. Then Onix came out. Emerald smashed it with another Bubble, but it survived. Barely. Then, Onix screeched me, lowering my Defense. I should have switched out, but I knew there wouldn't be anything stopping my Bubble.
Roark healed Onix with a potion, but another Bubble proved too much for it. Not a scratch on Piplup - and Felicity and Starly only know Normal and Flying type moves. No use. So I decide to keep Piplup in.
Then, Roark's ace-in-the-hole: A Cranidos. I froze. He's level 14, like my Piplup. All my other pokemon are level 11. Emerald, you need to come through for me!
Roark's Cranidos used Headbutt. I was screeched. I knew it'd be bad, but... it was a critical hit. Emerald fainted.
I felt a pang of anger, and frustration, for my lost starter, but we were in the heat of battle. No time to lose my head.
Felicity came in with the intent to Leer the **** out of Cranidos. He got four Leers in, and was victim to Headbutt the same way as Emerald was. My teammates were falling all around me.
Next was Avi. Her Quick Attack did much less damage than I had hoped, but she managed somehow to eliminate half of Cranidos' health. Then, a sudden Rock Throw, and it was all over for Avi.
Then, came barely-trained Neo, and I knew it was a death sentence for him. He defense-curled, but to no avail. Roark headbutted him into the grave, mercilessly.

+ I withdrew Fox from the box, and explained that we were the only ones left. That she'd have to step up to the plate. "How?" she asked. "I only know Teleport!" Lonely and grieving for our lost team members, we vowed to avenge their deaths.

+ I taught Fox the TM I'd stolen from the kid at the trainer's school. Hidden Power.

+ After some investigating, it's Hidden Power Flying.

+ We went back to Oreburgh Gate, where I previously had not seen a Pokemon. I caught a new Geodude, who I have high hopes in. He has been named Scorpio. Hopefully for his fighting spirit.

+ Then, I went to Ravaged Path early, hoping for another pokemon. A Zubat, this time, named Libra. He will show us balance.
+ Now, to train for the day that I will defeat Roark, without mercy, to avenge the lives of Emerald, Neo, Felicity, and Starly.

I am actually angry at Roark.

My team *gulp* as of now:

I do not care if a completely random percentage of people that you made up use hacks or cheats in their games. I also don't care that you don't use hacks.
I am looking for somone to co-manage a thread with me. PM me and we'll work something out.

Cort's Journey Part 2
A Journey Gone Awry

This update is quite long, because I had to re-do lots of stuff as I lost my save last time.
Aw man that's rough. Keep at it though; when you've got an Alakazam, Golem and Crobat things will look a lot rosier!

Cort's Journey Part 3
Vengeance Against Roark

Just a quick update. Thanks for the encouraging words. By the way, am I allowed to evolve my Kadabra at the GTS?

Spoiler:
After intense training, Fox knew she needed to step up to the plate and evolve. She learned a powerful new attack. But I didn't want to be hasty, no, sir. I needed to train just a little more. And it paid off.

Roark laughed at me, mocking, as I came back to his gym. Fox and I, still infuriated by the death of Emerald, Avi, Felicity, and Neo, were ready to fight. And, we did.
Roark sent out a Geodude. Hah, he said. You have no super effective attacks anymore! But super effective doesn't matter when you have STAB. Geodude fell to Confusion, as did his Cranidos, and finally, his Onix. Fox wasn't even scratched.

My fallen comrades, you have been avenged.

So, my new team:

Spoiler:

Fox [Kadabra] LVL 18
- Confusion
- Hidden Power Flying
- Disable
- Teleport

Scorpio [Geodude] LVL 12
- Tackle
- Defense Curl
- Rock Throw
- Rock Polish

Libra [Zubat] LVL 6
- Leech Life
- Supersonic

Those whose deaths have been avenged:

Spoiler:
Emerald, my Piplup. Passed to a critical-hit from Cranidos' headbutt. Met at Lake Verity.

Felicity, my Shinx. Passed to Cranidos' headbutt. Met at Route 202.

Neo, my Geodude. Passed to Cranidos's headbutt. Met in Oreburgh Mine.

Avi, my Starly. Passed to Cranidos's heabutt. Met on Route 204.

Update sorry for the lateness Schools started so there will be a few gaps between updates

I made it throught the rock tunnel and went to lavender town went to Route 8 where I saw Kadabra but Larry decided against adding it to the team by OHKOing it.I got to Celadon City once a beatiful city now a center of crime and gambling.I got a call from Officer Jenny about Gym Leader Erika when her father died of "Mysterious Causes" she took over his gym using it as a growing ground for "Happy plants" as she calls them and tricks girls into labor by calling it a female empowerment center. I couldn't stand for this so I first got my Eevee Eva evolved her into Flareon and trained all my pokemon espeacially Eva so she'd get Fire Spin and headed off to the gym taking out Erikas minnions first I finally got to her Defeating using a mix of Digdug and Eva.Upon her defeat she revealed she had let Team Rocket Set up a Casino and base used for traphicing stolen goods and pokemon so I picked up the Rainbow Badge and tossed the T.M. on my way out and the destroyed Happy plant crops. I went into the base and met the Mastermind of Team Rocket and Defeated him but he escape but Left the Silph Scope picking it up I headed off.Back in Lavender town I decided to go to the Pokemon Tower visit my old Freinds the young Fury and Dracula the one taken in his prime of course Sparky still in the Crypt Box 12 but I also met a new freind Cynthia the ghastly who became the sixth Member of my team who soon evolved to a Haunter. We journeyed higher into the tower and found Marowaks ghost I defeated her and set her soul free. Then I found them treading upon these holy grounds Team Rocket me and Cynthia sent them blasting off and rescued Mr.Fuji who thanked me with a Pokeflute I thanked him and left for the Snorlax blocking the Cycling road after getting Fly and Catching Doubltrobl the Doduo boxed then beat Snorlax I'll catch the other one. On Cylcling road I caught Biekie the Fearow boxed.I got to Fuschia City and in the Safari Zone got Eggy the Eggcecute the gold teeth and Surf then returned the gold teeth for strength then saved at the Pokemon Center
