I know here in America, there's a pressure sometimes that if you don't go to college, you're not going to end up very far in life while I hear in other countries, it's not much of a big deal if you go to uni or not.

So, how many of you plan on (or are attending) a college or university in hopes of getting a degree? Do you plan on going on to get a Master's or Doctorate in a certain area?Or is college something you don't plan on doing or not something you really need?

I'm currently in a slow period right in the middle of my collegiate career, and I certainly hope that I can eventually afford to finish it one day. I'm studying Civil Engineering and Architecture. I wanna get my masters eventually, but for now, I just wanna be able to finish. XD

I don't know how universities work in America, but over here I'm planning to get a Bachelor of Journalism or Bachelor of Arts by going to uni over the next three years. I don't know what I want to do once I finish uni, so I might go from there straight into the workplace or I might do a Diploma of Education on top of that and become a teacher, or something.

Oh man, I would go to college if I could afford it! :( I was in college for three semesters but I wasn't getting enough in loans, and I still owe my old school money... I don't want to even look into another school until I can get that paid off, because if I can't do that, how can I afford school??

I hope that someday when I get that sorted out, I can return to school somewhere, even if it's just a community college. I want to get a degree. In what, though, is the problem...

...I love college but college and I just don't work out, do we?

I'll make a proper signature when Pokecommunity gets a proper slogan

I'm currently attending a technical college for my Associate's in computer network administration. I'm not sure as to whether I want to continue on at another school for my Bachelor's after I graduate in May, or just jump straight into the workforce.

I've just started college, hoping to eventually get my Associates Degree in Environmental Science, and then moving to a University where I can eventually pursue the study of Meteorology. That is if money supports, aye.

Here, it really just depends.

Tradies can live a really good life and have a much higher income than say ... for example, Teachers but at the same time, they don't get the same social status.

I think australian culture is more based around having a good time than making money owning a house and a car and all that american dream crap. Which is good as it gives everyone equal chance to live that dream.

Also, there's an ex-student from our school who dropped out at year 10, did food technology at TAFE (its like... err a govt-run college?, anyways it sucks overall) and he's now working for masterfood with a low-mid six figure salary. :|

I personally love learning things but I don't like the stress of tertiary education and higher secondary education ... Sadly, I've got Asian parents so yeah. D:

I've already been to college and managed to get myself qualifications that are comparable to three A Levels, and am going to start another course in the college that will net me a good degree. I was pining towards University until I found out the college I attend will give me the same kind of qualification anyway, and the course I'd be doing would be half the tuition fee of that a University course.

Though I don't suppose it matters a lot whether I come out of Higher Education with a plethora of qualifications since it's near enough impossible to get a job here unless I had connections. Britain's employment is on a rickety boat, which is making me think about working somewhere abroad, perhaps in America or in Canada.

I am already through two semesters at a university. With the tough employment market, I do think it is important to try and get a degree, no matter what college or university you go to. I think employers are going to be looking for people who have tried harder with their education. I don't think I'll be going for my Masters though. I've heard that some employers will pay for you to take part time courses in order to get your Masters, and I am just going to hope for that. I don't want to end up with too much debt when I graduate.

I'm going to get my Masters or Doctorate's in either Psychology or Biology or something that will either land me big in the medical field. I really want to be a surgeon, since I want to play a big part in saving people's lives. Though that may take a lot of schooling, it's going to pay off in the end, and I know its going to be worth it.

...In other words, yes, I'm going to college.
I want to be a physcaitrist, yet I feel like people with as many problems as me shouldn't be one. It leads to hypocrisy.
