Who here knows how to cook? How long have you been doing it and do you like it? What is the best meal you can cook and does it taste better than your parents'? And do you cook for fun or some other reason? Who taught you?

As for me, I can cook, but simple things, such as pancakes, eggs, hot dogs, and the such. I really like to cook and I've been cooking for almost 3 years now. My mom used to teach me a lot back then. My meals usually do not taste as the ones my maid or dad makes, but they are okay, at least to me.

I can cook three things: Mac n' Cheese, Ramen, and Grilled Cheese (on a frying pan). :3

Oh, and Quesadillas I guess.

Usually I just stuff things into the microwave though. >_>

Cooking is a neccesity in life really. I can't stand the thought of spending money for fast food or waiting to find that perfect women...who can cook for me.

So yes I can cook and I do the majority of the cooking in my house. Not to say I'm the best cook because I am not but I sure can whip up something tasty and delicious though :P.

I've done food tech as a subject since year 7 (5 years ago) but I could cook even before that

I can cook well enough that I'd easily be able to take care of myself when I get out on my own. There are some things I've never cooked before, but if I follow instructions or a recipe in that case it usually turns out fairly well.

Who here knows how to cook?
I do know how to cook.

How long have you been doing it and do you like it?
I've known how to cook for about 10 years, but I do not enjoy it at all.

What is the best meal you can cook and does it taste better than your parents'?
I honestly don't know or care. I prefer not to cook things that take a lot of effort to make.

And do you cook for fun or some other reason?
I cook out of necessity, and nothing else, except maybe to satisfy a craving.

Who taught you?
My parents taught me how to cook, as well as some classes in our school.

I make a mean bowl of cereal =P.

I can cook most basic things. And if it's something out of a box with the recipe on it, or if it's something I can find a recipe for, I most definitely can cook it.

It takes a certain mood for me to be in to actually want to cook, like if I'm really bored or something. Otherwise, I cook because I have to. And if I only have to fend for myself, and not worry about making something for others, I do something easy... like PB&J.

No one really 'taught' me to cook, but my mom always wanted to. I was just too lazy to learn.

I've been cooking since I was a young kid, so I'd like to think I'm a decent cook. I'm not a whoamygod expert or anything, but cooking is one of the areas that I think I'm fairly proficient in. I like cooking as a way of killing time and just having something relaxing to do, so it's easy enough for me to make basic junk.

I cook relatively well, I'd like to think. I can at least follow a recipe well. Not really good with what flavors go with what on my own, but if I have a guide to follow, things turn out good. In the end that's all that really matters to me. Throwing stuff together, 9 times out of 10, isn't as great. ^^;

Honestly I think my best food is when I make the awesome Japanese curry mix. Weird I know. But it's always so tasty afterwords!

You'd think that with my stepdad and stepbrothers in food service that I'd learn most of my stuff from them, but honestly, I learned the basics from cooking classes in school. o__O; When they cook I let them do their thing and don't usually watch.

I watch cooking shows on TV and then head off to the kitchen, just to set the smoke alarm.
I can cook a few things, though I'm not much of a cook. I can't remember how long I've been doing it, but I used to have a lot of interest in cooking when I was younger. The best meal I can cook is ramen and omelet, yay! XD; It tastes pretty good, but I doubt it's better than my mom's. I cook for fun, and sometimes when I'm hungry XD. I experimented with cooking myself. ;3

Growing up with my parents, it'd be weird if I didn't know how to cook. My mom owns a bakery and my dad is an experienced barbecue cook-off contestant. When I was in high school, my parents made it essential for me to learn how to cook for myself for when I'm on my own. As it is, I can cook a variety of meals, including macaroni & cheese, pork chops and rice, all kinds of pasta and potato dishes, enchiladas, and chicken mole.

Of course, taking after my father as much as I do, I occasionally just prefer to barbecue whatever slab of meat I have available, pair it with canned beans and call it a meal. XD

I can cook some things. My arsenal is limited, but I can a microwave, toaster oven, and stove properly. The only thing I don't really touch is a regular oven.

I can cook relatively well. I can make all sorts of pasta, pancakes and grills. ;D

My mom used to teach me a fair bit, after which I learnt from online recipes and cooking shows. I have been cooking for 2 to 3 years now. I have no best dish and I mainly cook for fun! ^^

I've been cooking since I was just about twelve or thirteen years old. Spending a lot of time in the kitchen with my mom, I just naturally grew to liking it. Although, I more lean to baking than cooking, so I wouldn't say I'm the best at it. While I am pretty good at cooking a few meals - mac & cheese, mashed potatoes to name a few, I can't beat my mom at it.

Positive. I can cook for myself or for family. I'm just too lazy/don't have a chance to cook, because my grandma always cooks.
I can cook many things. I can make Italian food, my own Polish food, American food and so go on... (My speciality is Spaghetti)

I can only cook the most basic of things that I need to eat (hamburgers, fries, and ramen). I'm not particularly fond of cooking, especially since I have this fear of burning myself on the stove :/

I can cook. I chose not to.

Today I forgot that I put toast in the toaster. :( Smoke alarms around the house had seizures.

I think it's safe to say that my parents taught me how to cook. Although, my Grandma also taught me some things too. The first thing I can really remember cooking was eggs in a bread. I used to eat eggs almost every morning so my dad ending up teaching me how to do it myself.

I find cooking really easy and I don't particularly understand people who say they can't cook. If you can read and move your arms then you're 100% able to cook anything. Actually just the other day I made a banana bread from scratch. All I had to do was follow the directions and it came out great.

I'm not ecstatic about cooking, but every once and a while I'll just feel like it. So I'd say I cook for fun. The best types of foods I can cook are sweets. Such as cakes, cookies, and breads. Although when it comes to the absolute best dish I think I make a pretty good broccoli casserole.
