Organizations like the RIAA and the MPAA are abusing intellectual property law for their own selfish gain.
For one, intellectual property laws were not intended to outlaw sharing of works like music and films, rather they were intended to prevent plagiarism of a person's orignal work. File sharing and and torrent downloading is not plagiarism. In most cases, information such as the name of the recording artist is cited in these file's tags.
The RIAA and MPAA are abusing the law in order to make big profits. They lobby the government to pass legislation that distorts what intellectual property laws were originally intended for so that they can make money. Now is the time for the citizens to stand up to these corporate fatcats who falsely spread their anti-1st Amendment propaganda and their unconstitutional lawsuits in order to make sure their profits are guaranteed by law. We must stop this!
