I like it better than FO 3 actually. It's pretty fun, doesn't seem as large as FO 3, but I wasn't expecting it to be much bigger if at all really. I like the quests and everything, the return of traits made me rather giddy though I think there should've been more. Wild Wasteland gives the game a very entertaining twist though.
Apparently my old sig was too big or something so I'm just putting this here because I'm too lazy to actually replace it properly right now.

I haven't been a fan of Fallout 3 in the short time I've played it, but this looks much more interesting and more importantly, LIVELY than its horrid little brother. However, I'll still wait for a long time before buying the game. Obsidian tends to make choice games and never actually test them before releasing them from what I've seen.
I agree that it looks way more lively. The last one seemed depressing and scary because it seemed as if you were the only one in the wasteland. When I saw this one, it looked amazing because it had the lights and life that would make this a hit.

Fallout 3 had a very dark and hopeless theme to it. I liked how it was the first Fallout in first person perspective, but I prefer Fallout 1 and 2's theme and plotlines better, they're not as dark and emo-ish as the plot for Fallout 3.
Don't get me wrong, I really like FO3, but I liked FO2 much better.

Fallout: New Vegas sounds like it's the Vice City of the Fallout Universe, which I like.

The ammo isn't really that confusing. I guess it just takes some people a little getting use too.

I am fine with it though...

Not a bad game so far. It is just the skeleton of FO3 and a new body build onto it. Love it.

My friend told me that you can shoot grenades from machine guns and things like that, and that's the part that's confusing. I don't see how, though, but I don't have it.

Got this a few days after it came out, and I'm pretty pleased. Though I haven't been able to play a whole lot due to school (still haven't got to the strip :x), the additions to the gameplay are very noticeable and are a welcome change to Fallout 3. Particularly, the weapon and ammo mods and the ability to ally yourself with different groups within the game is really cool.

However, the overall gameplay is almost exactly the same as FO3. Not that this is a bad thing since I really enjoyed F03, but New Vegas seems like a really huge add-on instead of a brand new game for some reason. Which is fine by me, since my favorite part of the game by far is exploring new areas and discovering locations in the far corners of the map that a lot of people might miss if they just run through the main quest. Overall, a good addition to the Fallout series.

Anyone having trouble with Deathclaws? Even around level 20 I was still getting destroyed.
At one point I was going for a set of Enclave armor that was in the middle of a huge Deathclaw nest. There were easily 30+ of them, I think I maybe took out 20 or so before I finally died. I never got the armor. :|

That's the problem. They usually attack in groups. I can kill a couple of them, but eventually I just get completely overrun, lol. Still haven't been able to explore Quarry Junction.

Deathclaws are easy to kill if you have a high enough sneak and you use the Gobi sniper rifle.

I cleared Deathclaw Pronomotory in 10 minutes.
Gobi? Is that a variation of the Anti-Material Rifle? Sadly, I went with Melee and Unarmed this playthrough so that's making it even tougher, lol.

If you want me to be completely honest, FNV looks like Call of Duty: Fallout Edition. I'v seen only one gameplay trailer, but after seeing a few minutes I was not really impressed. It looks like a rehashed Fallout 3.
I can't really say it's exactly like FO3, but I still have a feeling it would be 70% same/similar. I'm not saying this is entirely bad, but I don't want to see this continue or we'll see rehashed games all over the store. Or torrent website, depending on the way you get them.

EDIT: Half a hour ingame already shows me it's a rehash, but it doesn't seem bad. I'll give it a go.
That's like saying you don't want to see any more handheld Pokemon games. They are all rehashes of themselves, and nobody seems to complain about that.

I am a huge fallout fan, and this game makes me warm inside. I completed my first playthrough, and I plan to do my second on hardcore mode. I agree the unique ammo types are a bit confusing, and I honesty don't see any need for them, but meh. I also like the weapon mods, but there needs to be more of them. All weapons have 0-3 mods for them, most of them having none. I also dislike not being able to mod unique weapons, but it's not a huge deal. I love the game, and I can't wait to try hardcore mode.

I played FO3 to death modded and unmodded, is New Vegas worth getting?

I've not got it yet cause I've been working too many hours to get into gaming, got a week off though so looking into what to get, it's on my list for sure.
I love the game. If you like Fallout 3 + a better story + level 30 cap to start off with + MANY more missions, then you will like this game.

Why thank you, just ordered it today :)

Was looking at a few videos on Youtube for NV, I like the idea that Bethesda let Obsidian make the game too, a lot of the team there were the ones who made the original Fallout games.

I'll give it a shot, bit more of a pc gamer girl type than consoles, should be fun and give me something to do on my week off from work.

Well, Pokemon (outside of B/W) were released on a different system for each generation..
While Pokemon is a rehash of itself, it doesn't really feel much of a rehash like FO3-FNV feels.

Oh, and anyone knows where to find the Enclave?

Sorry, I don't.
I'm sorta playing it here and there.
I've just gone off to shoot geckos, and I lose track of Sunny Smiles. xD
Oh dear.
Thanks to Estai from another forum for the awesome graphics!

Spoiler:
The Enclave doesn't exist anymore by the time New Vegas takes place. They were ultimately destroyed by the Chosen One; whatever remained afterwards was dealt with by the Wanderer.
There are some remnants left, but you won't be able to interact with them until you're near the end of New Vegas.
