Tsundere - is a Japanese character development process which describes a person who is initially cold and even hostile towards another person before gradually showing their warm side over time.

Ok, i'm sure that you didn't need the description but meh.

Off of the top of my head my top 3 would have to be;

3 - Kyou Fujibayashi - Clannad
2 - Shana - Shakugan no Shana
1 - Taiga Aisaka - Toradora!

Possibly interesting fact but probably not, numbers one and two are both voiced by the same voice actress.

I would also have to give a mention to misty who ticks a lot of the boxes to get into the category.

I've got a love-hate relationship with tsunderes Eh, in all honesty, they're not my favorite kind of characters since many nowadays aren't written very well and lean towards being abusive. Back on topic, by the original definition of tsunderes, Ryougi Shiki (Kara no Kyoukai) has to be my favorite ever. Hiiragi Kagami (Lucky Star) is also an old favorite character of mine who's part of the new wave of tsunderes who change their minds frequently about which side they lean on.

I'm picky about tsundere. There's a fine line between cute tsundere and annoying jerk.

Misaka from Toaru Majitsu no Index (and its side story) is probably my favorite tsundere.

What about male tsundere?

This thread severely lack Hinagiku (Hayate no Gotoku). Kagami was probably my first favorite tsundere (as well as one of first favorite characters) and I also do like Kyou.

There's a fine line between cute tsundere and annoying jerk.
I agree. Except for the jerk part, since tsundere are, by default, jerks (in one way or another). Although I generally like tsundere characters, I find many of them to be rather annoying (Taiga, Nagi, Shana--hey look, they all have the same voice). *shot*

Actually, I think that may be due to the "urusai, urusai, urusai" thing they all say that I find to be annoying. :x

Kagami from Lucky Star...
Would Rukia from Bleach count as one? (She's pretty cold and hostile towards Ichigo in the begining, then near the Soul Society rescue arc, she seems....nicer towards him) and then there's Haruhi Suzumiya's relationship with Kyon. >.> She hates him at first, but slowly opens up (very slowly).

And apparently Graceful is still alive after a very long hiatus ♥

The only one I really liked was Misaki Ayuzawa from Kaichou wa Maid-sama.

C.C.

Need I say more?

Oh hell yes, I do.

C.C. is perhaps one of the most awesome tsunderes (...does having your mind wiped count as valid character development?) in the history of forever.

First, she establishes herself as totally awesome by being killed several times without dying, taking several bullets for Lelouch, threatening him at gunpoint for the lulz, and, as if that wasn't enough, drawing out one of her bad memories, shooting him in the neck three episodes later, piloting awesome giant robots...

In short, C.C. is the thing everyone should aspire to be.

Additionally, though, she's a great dynamic character, as she slowly opens up, becoming less of C.C. the Witch, and becoming more of C.C., Zero's bittin' awesome homie.

...so yeah.

I saw somewhere that England from Hetalia was considered Tsundere, so...If that's true then I would say him, as I don't know many Tsundere characters XD; /fails

YES! I totally agree with England from Hetalia! I also loved Akira Okuzaki from Mai HiME, who is arguably tsundere as well, but she was a girl cross-dressing as a guy. @[email protected]

I guess I find most female tsunderes annoying, but male tsunderes adorable for some reason....hah, double standard, much? Though I think it also has to do with the fact that female tsunderes tend to win most of the love triangles they're in, often over the sweeter/shyer girls that I tend to root for. -_-

no, there aren't any heroes here...
