Why make a poll about Grass Poison? Because it's my favourite typing ever, and I'm sure less discussion-creating polls have been made in the past. But anyway, what do you think of Grass Poison pogeys? And which one out of the fives we've got is your favourite? (I only count final forms per family, sorry!)

To be honest, I've never understood why some people hate Grass Poison, considering how much they've improved since their sucky days in RBY.

Seriously! Look around in this gen with all these Dream World abilities: you've got a bulky starter with Sleep Powder that can Chlorophyll his way into oblivion (Venusaur), a cool giant flower with decent defenses and good special attack and Effect Spore (Vileplume), a scary flycatcher that makes incredible use of Chlorophyll thanks to its offenses + Weather Ball (Victreebel) and a very bulky toxic shroom with access to the best sleeping move in the game and the ability Regenerate (I call him Toxishroom but his name is Morobareru).

And of course, the best Grass Pokemon of all time - Roserade! It is both overused (for a Grass type) and underrated (for a sweeper). Forget being immune to Poison; she's immune to all status, period, upon switching. I am of course biased because she's my favourite pogey, but whether you care about her or not, you better recognize her skillz (there's a reason three top trainers in Sinnoh use Roserade [Gardenia, Barry, Cynthia]; four if you count Drew's from the anime, although he isn't from Sinnoh nor was featured there except for this one cameo, lol).

But really here's why it's my fave typing ever:

Adding Poison to Grass is almost always a boon both defensively and offensively. It only sucked in RBY when Psychic was the dominating type. In fact, Poison is one of the best types you can add to a Grass Pokemon to make it better. Defensively, Poison takes away your ground resist, which is unfortunate, but only adds a mostly negligible Psychic weakness. Meanwhile Poison adds a resistance to Fighting and 4x resist vs. Grass, and shores up the Bug and Poison weaknesses. Perhaps the most useful thing a Poison typing does for Grass is make it immune to Toxic and absorb Toxic Spikes. Offensively having a second type is always useful as it adds a second STAB. Poison happens to be one of the worst types offensively, but it still lets you hit fellow Grass types with a super-effective STAB move, which would otherwise resist your STAB. Finally, Grass/Poison types almost exclusively have better move pools that pure Grass types.
So vote away, and discuss. >:3

Also, if you must know, I'll battle ANYONE who dares to challenge my self-proclaimed status as Best Roserade User Of All Time; there's a million people out there who love Roserade, but can they use her as effectivel as I can? No! I remember a long time when the first pic of ever was a crappy leaked one, and I was like "Oh no they didn't!" and started foaming at the mouth; I just KNEW this thing would be popular and powerful and I was right. >:3 Even one of my friends, who NEVER uses Grass types, period, used Roserade in her Diamond game, hah!

Anyways, our new Grass Poison deserves love. How can you not like it? He tries to lure food with his pokeball-hands, and he has this "Haters gonna hate" look in his face that's just lolo. Not to mention he's got some nifty options and is our first Grass Poison type to have access to Spore.

EDIT:

Grass type unfortunatelly has a lot weaknesses, so other poison type is the best thing it could possibly get!

Victreebel is by far my favorite by design. The thing is just about as intimidating as a fully sentient plant can possibly be and I love its habit of om-nom-noming everything that's fool enough to get too close to it. :D

I do have to admit though that Roserade is one of the best statistically. Perhaps not as strong as Venusaur but miles more versatile. I plan to use one in my poison monotype team as a Toxic Spikes/Sleep Powder/Leech Seed/Leaf Storm lead. :P
Well out of your list I'd go with Victreebel, but my absolute favorite Pokemon of all time is BELLSPROUT<3333333

Spoiler:

Still makes me laugh<3

Anyways being a big grass type fan means you also sort of need to have an open mind for poison types too since they tend to be paired together. Especially when dealing with the first generation of grass types. Although I should mention that I think a dual grass and water type can be a little more helpful.

As for Roserade I agree that it's a great Pokemon. I think it has the highest special attack out of all the grass types (not counting legendaries) with Exeggutor, but I'm not sure if that's changed yet.

Also I love Tamagetake and Morobareru! Unfortunately though I'll be using Mubukijika during my first play of Black and White and then after that I'll probably move onto Churine so Tamagetake might have to wait a little while. :)

Roserade easily takes the cake on this one. It's good in terms of battling (good at setting up (Toxic) Spikes, as well as sweeping when necessary) and I also like how it looks; that mask is what strikes out to me most.

Victreebel is my second favourite Pokémon but the main reason I find it hard to use is the Grass/Poison typing. I'm constantly getting hit for 2x by psychic, fire, flying and ice attacks and not surprisingly attacks with those types come up quite commonly. I'll admit being resistant to poison is handy, but not while simultaneously having a grass typing.

I don't think it's the typing, but the Pokemon itself; I think the skills given to Victreebel by GF is the real problem.

Tyranitar's typing is horrible defensively and pretty good offensively, but still horrible with lots of weak, yet he sees plenty of usage. Likewise you have Pokemon like Venusaur and Roserade which dominate UU (and the latter sees lots of use in OU as well), yet their typing is the same as Victreebel. So I don't think the typing is the problem. I mean, even Vileplume got Effect Spore this gen... what does Victreebel get? Gluttony. Heck, even Abomasnow and Exeggutor/Celebi see more usage than Victreebel and they have the worst typing in all history of Grass types. :P

So the main reason you and everyone else (including myself) find Victreebel hard to use is not because it has a Grass Poison typing, but because of the way she works (without sun support she can't do much, and Swords Dance is hardly an option despite it getting Power Whip because it has no physical Poison move to make use of). That and her design make it the Grass Poison I like the least, albeit I don't hate her at all; there is no such thing as a Grass Poison Pokemon that I dislike. XD That just does not exist, not in my world at least... ;P

I really don't use the type combo as much as I should, but I'm considering giving Roserade a try as she seems to have pretty solid stats and a nice movepool.

My favorite by far is Venusaur. It could have some useful moves and stuff, but the major reason why I like it is because it evolves from the Bulbasaur family.

Grass and Poison are like the two worst STABs in the game, both walled horribly by Steel. :|

Anyway, Roserade is cool. What set do you use with it? >D
Everything ends,
and that's always sad.
But everything begins again, too,
and that's always happy.

For the sake of the poll, I'm going to have to say Venusaur as Bulbasaur is my second favorite starter, and thus my favorite Grass/Poison type. It's followed a bit closely by Roserade, though.

As for using them... I haven't exactly done that. I choose Bellossom over Vileplume, and I just haven't found space for a Grass/Poison type on my team in general. Perhaps it'll change in the future, I don't really know.

I've also always liked the Grass/Poison type, just because I find they always come in handy in battle (especially as support for team-mates). My favourite Pokémon that comes under the group is Roserade due to its design, battle ability and portrayal in the Pokémon animé.
