Please no "I think its Arceus because hes the God of Pokémon".

I think maybe Mewtwo OR Rayquaza. You don't have to post ledgenderies though, if it wasn't a ledgendery I would say Garchomp (just because Cynthia's pwns~) :)

There was nothing. Followed by everything. Swirling, burning specks of creation that circled life-giving suns. And then we reached to the light.

Well, by the most objective way of gauging things, Arceus would be the strongest by virtue of having a godly BST of 720. XD

Personally, Snorlax is a beast. Not only is he bulky, he can put quite the hurt on nearly anyone with Earthquake and STAB'd Body Slam. XD

I'll answer this question when there comes a day when people will no longer anxiously wait for another generation of Pokemon.

In other news..
Flail Magikarp at 1hp is the strongest.

Gyarados says no.
Tyranitar. It has fantastic attack, great bulk, large movepool... Not to mention Dragon Dance. Only drawback is that massive weakness to Fighting.
Agreed.

I've always thought that Darkrai was the strongest Pokémon. It's more of a personal preference cause by a couple of factors - including its amazing aesthetics and diverse move pool. Furthermore the hero status it held in the Pokémon movie 10: The Rise of Darkrai made me even more impressed with it and its extraordinary powers and it really did lead me to think of it as one of the strongest Pokémon out there.

Wurmple. Bidoof. Zubat. Koromori. Pidgey. And all the other ComMons.

If you look at it simply, why do the weak pokemon outnumber the strong ones? Because the strong ones aren't fit for living at all. The small pokemon have adapted and evolved (in a scientific sense) to adapt to most of the enviornments in the game. Why is Bidoof so abundant? Because it can live on almost any terrain AND water. Evolution has given Bidoof and Bibarel better chances of living than other pokemon.

Technically speaking, the ComMons are far stronger than the other Pokémon everybody seems to prefer.

If one day, an atomic bomb was set off in the region of Kanto and Johto, the less abundant pokemon would go extinct and the more abundant pokemon will at least have some descendants to repopulate.

None. Each and every pokemon is strong, depending on how well you train them. A level 100 Blissey has the natural health of 624hp. Tyranitar's moves are strong as ever. so just think of how you train them and that will be your strongest pokemon in your opinion.

I gotta agree with Tribal Ebony. I was going to come in here saying which pokemon I thought were strong in my opinion, and they were your run-of-the-mill pokes.

I've trained random pokemon here and there. They were able to get me to the end of the games. Currently the strongest pokemon for me is Mamoswine. He took out Clair and almost all of the elite four by his lonesome. I didn't even have to ev or iv or whatever train. I don't do that. Not against those who do though.

But yeah every pokemon is strong if you care enough about them.

I say no Pokemon is the strongest because there is a Pokemon out there that if its trained properly can defeat another Pokemon therefore that Pokemon is the strongest until its defeated by another strong Pokemon until the cycle starts again.

Every few weeks this thread pops up, and every time I post I give about the same answer: The strongest Pokemon is Machamp. Cannot argue that.

The most powerful Pokemon, however, is DENNIS (aka Genosect). Arceus? Going to be obliterated by those laser cannons just like everything else.

It all depends on how you use the Pokémon, whether the Pokémon is on a team or not, what moves the Pokémon has - there's a number of deciding factors. On its own, Arceus is obviously the strongest, with the highest base stats of any Pokémon, the ability to be any type it wants and a large move pool to choose from. However, arguably Wobbuffet is the best for a team, so it all depends on what you use it for.

Magikarp using Flail wouldn't be the strongest, as soon as it uses the move it's defenceless.

I would say Tyranitar because of its stats, its movepool. Everything. Except it has a bad fighting weaknness. Legends would be Mewtwo I think. Garchomp would be close too.

Paul Newman and a ride home.
