Half an episode.

That's all it took for everything I know about Angel Beats! to be flipped inside out.
This is not the first time it will happen. This is only the beginning.

Ooh, so the reviews spoke the truth...

Anyway, I finally watched FLCL, all the way through. I had tried a few years back, but...

Anyway.

WHAT THE HELL DID I JUST WATCH?

And why was it so awesome?

Because a pink haired, moped riding, guitar wielding alien smacks a kid round the head causing random mechas to come out of his forehead. That is why it is awesome, well that and the OST.

More Hangyaku no Lelouch for me this afternoon and really enjoying it for the most part. I bet the yaoi fan art/fic girls had a field day with Lelouch and Suzaku. ^_^

You know, being a... Yes, I'm about to drop the dreaded C Word...

CASUAL anime fan, I can't help but feel a mixture of awe and shock at you people. I mean...

HOW MUCH FREE TIME DO YOU PEOPLE HAVE? 0_0

*Has free time, but plays Oblivion and lurks on forums for most of it*
Let's see... I wake up at around 11AM, and then go to sleep at 2AM, so I have about... 15 hours of free time. Minus 10-15 minutes for bathroom breaks throughout the day.

All that free time and you think it takes too much time to obtain quality as opposed to streaming subpar compression? YesIAmStillPissedNoIWillNotGetOverIt.gif

BUT I should get on topic one of these days.

Code Geass was an engaging tale of changing the world during the first season and a great comedy in R2 (something to laugh at is more appropriate in this situation). I mean really. R2 is just SO HORRIBLY FORCED AND HAMMED, that you can't help but be amused in hindsight.

Also, just recently finished up Heroman. Dat Saturday Cartoon vibe.
Plus Cowboy Bebop is living up to how amazingly executed it is. Dialog and character backgrounds don't drag on at all, but you still get an amazing sense and feel for what each character's personality is like.

First off,
>Part 1

Why would you even do this? Why? WHY? Now I have to load part 2.

And of course there's better quality steams out there, but none of those compressed files can ever hope to defeat properly encoded releases. Here's a comparison between two screenshots (upscaled to fit my 1440x900 monitor) from the same 720p encode:
Uploaded to Youtube
Original

Both HD files, but the quality on the bottom is superior. The Youtube screenshot for some reason decided to darken the original colors and add some artifacts most notably to her gloves. The original color is preserved in the original and there are less artifacts present.
Also, can you show me where I can find EVERY SERIES with HD quality? Didn't think so.
Well, I have a much higher resolution monitor, and the video I linked looks much better than either of those, to me.

Not so. I took time to carefully research the best possible group for Disappearance.

I was not disappointed. I now see why quality is such a big deal to you people. :D
Also, streaming VS downloading only works when you're not watching low-budget anime from the 90s.

Actually, you can't help but cry in hindsight, when you realize that, like Angel Beats!, executives royally screwed the show out of what it deserved.

Different time slot, different show. That's why it was hammed up and watered down. The first season had a later timeslot, hence massacre and masturbation. The second season had prime time, hence... Pillow hats.

Oh! Oh! Oh!

My thought on Disappearance:

<Rant Removed. My prayers have been answered already.>
(The entire rant was pretty much me being angry over the lack of any real depth to the alternate reality.

But no, KyoAni, I no longer hate you. I now love you.

BUT BUT BUT...

You still didn't give Ryoko enough screen time in the movie. Well, I guess you did. But she needed moar. And so did Tsuraya.)
Okay, done. All in all, a great movie. Soundtrack was excellent.

Disappearence definitely makes up for Endless Eight, but it doesn't quite overcome the part where there's going to be a K-On! movie, or that they took Nichijou for spring. /Still no Little Busters! rant

I really should watch the rest of the Haruhi stuff. Do you need to watch the second season to get stuff from the film or is it fine to watch that first?

I'm looking forward to the K-On! movie, the series was one of those that which i really miss since finishing it for some reason.

Little Busters!, only read a couple of the manga versions of it as i don't really like VNs but it is enjoyable. Just being Key makes me want an anime announcement to be honest. ^^

Edit - Finished the first season of Code Geass and I have to say the last 5 episodes were fantastic, pushed the score up to a 9/10 in fact. Pretty amazing that I liked this so much as it is both Mecha and Military related. Anyway i hope R2 doesn't suck. :)

I've been waiting for your re-emergence in this thread Charry ^^

From that list there are a few that i've seen or want to see. I'm glad you enjoyed my guilty pleasure series To Love-Ru, although I thought you probably would ^^. Also good to see Kimi-Kiss and it's spiritual predecessor Anagami SS rated well, i've had the older title on my Laptop for months now.

I wouldn't say you're bad at rating, you're just a lot less harsh than most people.

This section is what really brought me back here XD

Even tho I'm sort ashamed of saying it, I'm a fan of ecchiness, but it really catches my attention for some reason. Its one of the reasons why I enjoyed Sekirei. But, romance takes the cake for my favorite anime genre.

Amagami is one of my favorite romances, because theres one factor I can actually relate too, but nonetheless its one of the best.

Also I have a question, does anyone here listen to Vocaloid?

Vocaloid is just thie vocal synthesizer app thing isn't it? I don't listen anything produced with it although i did download and watch about half an hour of Hatsune Miku's live performance. Even though it was more out of curiosity than anything it was pretty interesting.

Because "idols" are not moe enough.

You need to watch the Tanabata episodes to get the movie. Other than that... No Endless Eight required. ^^

The one problem, though, is that the "alternate universe" thing follows the exact same pattern of every other thing with a similar plot. So, yeah.

Still, I can't see how they could've deviated and made it relatively realistic, so meh.

Also, it had Tsuruya and Asakura. Yay!

Thanks SA, I guess i'll get on to Haruhi another day then. ^^

I actually feel like i've got the concentration to watch a film this evening, Kara no Kyoukai or Spirited Away....hmmmm. :)

Oh, and does anybody have a clue why Aoki-Sensei (Ume Aoki) is a Metapod?

World is Mine is awesome, but most Miku Pop is seriously boring.

There's a pretty wide range of vocaloid songs though. You should try some of these if you're not familiar with it.

I'm not a big fan of Vocaloid. :U
HEATHEN! YOU MUST BURN AT THE STAKE FOR YOUR INSOLENCE!

What genre of music do you normally listen to, because I guarantee that there are vocaloid songs in that genre. Unless you just don't like the high pitched voices, there's really no excuse to dislike vocaloid as a whole.

Might I introduce you to BinaryPeaches and Roswell aka "The pair who compares things that they find disdain with to Vocaloid". :V

I'm not too big fan of Vocaloid either. Much like Touhou, there's too much retarded fanon speculah, overused memes, and general retardedness which makes the fanbase unbearable. The program itself, character designs, and fanart are pretty OK in my book though. When I do listen to Vocaloid, my favorites are by kz from livetune. Examples being:
Packaged
Spoiler:

and Yellow
Spoiler:

The same guy made the Ore no Imouto ga Konnanai Kawaii Wake ga Nai OP and one of my favorite Touhou Arranges, Sleeping Beauty.

Yeah, those would both go under the boring, overdone, Miku Pop category.

You just keep finding ways to be the most disagreeable person I have ever met on this forum, don't you?

Herp derp. I like generic bullcrap. This extends into my tastes in anime as well. I'm sorry for not having exclusively hipster tastes.

Actually, I believe it is you who is the disagreeable one.

What you like is hip though, what I like isn't.

I'm certainly not trying to be disagreeable though. We just don't seem to see eye to eye on these matters.

There's reasons I don't poke my head in this thread too much. >.>

I think Vocaloid is... okay. The songs are really hit or miss, and it depends on which Vocaloid's voices you can and cannot stand. For example, I have issues with Miku's voice, but less of an issue with Rin's (though I seem to be in a minority in that regard). When it comes down to it though, the whole voice technology is neat, but it isn't "real" sounding enough for me to want to listen to it a lot.
