It varies.
DRRR!! is immensely popular and it's dub is coming out this month. Took about a year.
K-ON! is as well and its is coming out in like April. That's about like a little less than 2 years.

Also, someone mentioned Milky Holmes. Most underrated gem of the Fall 2010 series.

Fair enough i guess, you're missing out on some pretty epic series though. I mean Clannad After Story isn't dubbed yet (i think) and that's the best thing ever.
Sentai Filmworks is already several steps ahead of you. As for After Story being "the best thing ever," I sincerely doubt that.

Well it's the best anime i've seen in almost 52 days worth of viewing, and a lot of people share the opinion. Then again that's all it is, an opinion.

I just had a look on Youtube at Milky Holmes, it looks like it could be pretty fun. I am a fan of random as hell shows like that.

You won't be saying that after you've actually watched it. Or maybe you will. I might just be underestimating your stubbornness.
Kevin, I think you just scared me away from Milky Holmes.
Derp. What were you expecting? Cute girls doing cute things? Loli detectives solving mysteries? Nope. This is lolrandom comedy done well. Of course you can drop it after watching the first two episodes, or you can get through three and realize that this series is amazingly hilarious.

Although you didn't mean it you may have just raised a very good point, anime NEEDS more cute loli detectives doing cute loli detective work. Victorica shall be that one loli detective that paves the way for generations more cute loli detectives. Victorica will be that one loli detective that leads us to a better, cuter and less crime ridden tomorrow. Viva la revolution.

Jesus Christ i need to find something more productive to do with my time.

On the first point, you're only partially right. Anime does need more cute loli detectives, yes, but it would be far better if those cute loli detectives torture suspects, plant evidence, commit theft and extortion, and perform extrajudicial killings.

The second point is probably the only other thing we can agree on completely. You really do need to find something more productive to do with your time.

Do you not think that sums up a few of the arcs in Higurashi? lolis, investigating, torture ect.

After a busy day i think it's time to put my feet up and watch something, my download to watch rate is out of whack even more than usual i have way over 40 series ready to watch -.-

Edit - Higurashi, serious business.

I don't think it's fair to judge anime by the time period it was made in. Of course, there are lots of good anime pre-2000, perhaps even better than most of what was made after it, but then there's just as many crappy shows as there are now. The only differences being that the good pre-2000 shows have been Cherry-picked to death, ignoring the crap shows that existed, while the post-2000 "crap" shows are used in "killing the industry" arguments while brushing aside the occasional gems that have always occurred every season. Like how you're enjoying Baccano! despite post-2000.

That's my rant on people who like "old anime" exclusively. Of course, this argument is invalid if you've actually seen a decent amount of pre-2000 anime TV series. Then you can go ahead and bash on new anime all you want. You have the credentials. :I

Also, the final arc of Higurashi Kai was pretty dang uplifting to me. Just saying.

So that's what all that was about earlier?

Eugh, don't be that guy Pixy. There's surely a similar amount of crap/not to your taste titles back then as there are now. If you're not a fan of moe, ecchi or whatever suddenly started being produced more at the turn of the decade then avoid those titles, or are you planning on watching them in 10 years time? :L

Anyway, just downloaded the Clannad OST, **** it's more amazing than i remembered. These two give me the chills.

TTGL, and most of the other Gainax anime really do have awesome OST's. I often find myself on youtube listening to Libera Me From Hell or stuff from Panty and Stocking.

Other than that have any of you guys seen Welcome To The HNK!?, Other than Clannad it's probably my favourite, the anime wasn't music related but it was driven so well by it.

My favourite track from Bebop was madly depressing.

Yeah, that's not really a depressing track so much moreso than it is one of rebirth, based on the lyrics. The lyrics are here, though they don't seem to be the ones sang in the song, as the author of that page says. Musically, it may sound depressing, but it doesn't appear that way at all lyrically.
