I don't eat red meat anymore. I tend to eat only turkey, ham, chicken, and pork. And I make sure to eat those in potions. If I want to eat a hamburger I could eat chicken, turkey, and veggie. I been trying to be semi-vegetarian for a while now. If want some meat in spaghetti I can use the meatless crumbles and put a lot of veggies in the sauce. I don't miss eating steak and beef...nope. Depends on what cuts you get beef has a lot more fat and cholesterol than pork. It just depends. That is they way I see it. And the more natural the better. I try not to eat the rest of the meat with artificial favors, colors, and chemicals.

Honestly I fail to comprehend why anyone would voluntarily give up eating meat. With proper portion control you can avoid taking in more than you burn.

I really don't like how vegetarians think quite honestly because there is no rational reason, in my opinion, to stop eating meat. All the reasons I've ever heard for not eating meat are really insufficient.

I love meat, and I'm never going to give it up. Ever.
I tried giving it up at one point, because the thought of eating a living creature is just really disgusting to me. At one point I couldn't eat meat without gagging... I failed at giving it up though, and I've more or less gotten over it.

But for me, it had nothing to do with nutrition.

I eat meat daily and I think it is wrong for people to give up eating meat. People are meant to eat animals, its that simple. And don't even give me any of that stuff where people value the lives of animals and can't eat them, even though when it comes down to it, we all really only care about ourselves. Its not like I take joy in killing animals, just I have learned to accept it as a fact that it will always happen and it is better for the world to eat meat. Without eating meat, the entire food chain would become disrupted. Every single level of the chain would see increases and decreases in the population of specific animals leading to chaos in the animal world. Eating animals, basically, sustains order of all life on our planet, despite the overpopulation and rapid growth of human numbers right now. The fact that people choose to forgo these obligations of maintaining order is mind-boggling to someone like me.

In the end, it's all food. Put it in front of me, and I'll eat it. xD

I could never go vegetarian/Vegan, I like my steaks, plus I like having normal sources of Protein, etc. I do eat plenty of fruits and veggies though.

I eat meat, just not lots of it. I simply don't like it that much. With the exception of Lobster. Lobsters being boiled alive hits a sore spot with me, somehow, so I won't eat them.

You do realise that humans greatly increase the population of certain animals in order to supply humanity with meat? Nature is capable of keeping everything in line. If we stopped eating chicken, we wouldn't suddenly see a massive increase of chickens in the world. If anything, the chicken population would decrease because humans would no longer be breeding them like crazy in order for people to eat them. The food chain is not reliant on humans, humans alter it to suit their own desires.

As you said, there's an overpopulation of humans. If anything, the only thing that is in total chaos is the growth of human numbers. Every other animal on the planet is capable of living in harmony with nature. Humans keep spreading and increasing in numbers and devouring everything. We've messed up the natural order of things, we certainly don't maintain or fix it.

I couldn't go without eating meat...I like vegetables and stuff, but I'm too much of a meat eater to go strictly vegetarian. Giving up chicken, pork, hamburger, steak, seafood...yeah, couldn't do it, even if there are health benefits (along with risks, of course) of going vegetarian.

You made a very strong point and I respect you for that, but here is where I see that you are wrong. Humans dominate this planet, I think we can all agree on that, and yes we have altered the food chain to suit our own desires. Therefore the current state of the food chain is dependent on the things we do. Let's say we did stop eating meat. Each year there are approximately 75 million more people living on this Earth, each requiring food and nutrition to stay healthy. Now lets also assume that you are able to obtain all of your nutrients from plants, which by the way is not true. Now add the increasing amount of people in the world to the number of animals that would be eaten each day, but kept alive due to the fact that the entire planet has stopped eating meat. This is an unbelievably large number of life forms relying on a limited amount of plants in the world. Factor in the lack of nutrients in plants and it all equals world wide malnutrition over a certain period of time. I agree that humans have messed the entire balance of things up. We overpopulate ourselves, thus we are forced to overpopulate the animal world as well. Unfortunately, this is all in the past and at this current time, the food chain most certainly relies on humans.

I'm eating a huge delicious bag of jack links beef jerky right now.
mmmm...

Honestly, the reasons I could never be vegetarian are that meat tastes too good, vegetables are yucky, and I don't care about the cute animals being slaughtered and fed to me.

The current state of the food chain is dependent on what we do in some areas, not all areas, we maintain it in a way that suits our own needs rather than maintain it in the way that it should be. Of course in the world's current state, if everyone suddenly ceased to eat meat and all animals were set free there would be a problem, but that isn't going to happen. If there was a sudden global decision to go vegetarian, I don't think we'd just set free all the animals we've been breeding for consumption. We managed to drastically increase the population of certain animals, I'm sure we could decrease it through various methods as well. We can alter the food chain to suit our own desires, you agreed on that, so we could also alter it to suit the alternative option of not eating meat. So there wouldn't suddenly be a massive population of animals, if we stopped breeding them then they could return to their natural population number in time. There wouldn't be a lack of plants in the world, because all the funding that goes into the meat industry can be redirected to farms that produce different kinds of food in order to feed everyone. Or we could just build ~giant greenhouses~ to replace slaughterhouses, that would be kinder on the eyes too I think.

Vegetarians do not only eat plants. Vegetarians only exclude meat and can eat anything else, there are more things available than just meat and plants. People can follow a vegetarian diet and still remain perfectly healthy, I'm not sure why so many people think otherwise.

I'm not saying this is a viable option though. Obviously there would never be a global decision to go vegetarian, and such a process would be too much hassle. I'm just saying, if the world did suddenly go entirely vegetarian, it would not turn into some chaotic global starvation crisis.

I like meat. <3 But mostly poultry&fish... For red meats, I really only like bacon, steak, and venison.

I could not see myself without meat... but I'd rather not eat something that was tortured to death. When I grow older I'm thinking about raising chickens and pheasant :3

I consider myself a pseudo-vegetarian.
I live on a farm so I have seen some pretty gruesome stuff in RL, which has put me off Mutton, Beef and Pork. Mostly I still eat chicken and shaved ham, sometimes fish but it has to be fish fingers, but other than that, no meat.

Meat isn't something that I don't have everyday, but I do have it often. I freely admit that eating meat isn't something that's too important to me, and it's not due to animal-loving reasons.. it's more of the fact that it just doesn't sound too good to me. When I do eat meat, it's usually small amounts.
