@King do you have ruby/sapphire/emerald? You can find nosepass there, but if not that's cool. Take Swampert and Dustox
Spoiler:

@koboraX surprise, eh?

Take Dwebble Foongus and Cubchoo, yes unevolved. If it really irks you, feel free to evolve em up!

Sorry I was being dumb xD Swampert and Nosepass I can do. Just I'll have to decide when to trade Nosepass back over to Diamond to evolve it real quick. Any ideas?

I'll be starting as soon as I can. First I need to make all the eggs, then trade them over and blah. Lots of work xD But I'll get at least that much done today! My team in the end will be this:
Arbok
Swampert
Probopass
Ambipom
Salamence (which, I decided, doesn't really count as a flyer cause it cant even learn it until 50 but whatever -.-')
Sunflora

.___________. let the games begin ;;

right after I hide GolurkIsDaBomb's body

^^lol, good luck! Maybe evolve nosepass after the 6th gym, as a tribute to Jasmine?

NEXT FIRERED UPDATE! This is the second to last one, after this it's all elite four, which may end up just being in an edit to this post

So, I decided against kabuto, too much work. I took on Erica with Emile the tentacruel, to gain him some levels. This turned out to be harder than I thought, since emile only had acid and surf... but I won it. I modified his moveset at the gamecorner, and went to silph co. Not much too say except for how easy Goivanni was to beat, I mean isn't he supposed to be the toughest gym leader AND a boss of an evil organization? sigh... I headed back to cinnabar and soon discovered that route 21 is MY LEAST FAVORITE ROUTE IN THE POKEMON UNIVERSE!!!!!!!! No, not because of the incessant tentacool (I didn't encounter ANY wild battles, weird.) but because of the freakin' trainers. My God. EVERY single trainer has a pokemon with protect or some sort of confusing move, and when you're trying to train an exeggcute that's slow and only knows psychic too attack... it was torture. When haymitch finally leveled to 43 an learned solar beam, gave him a leaf stone. (dun..dun) I took on the pokemon mansion, found the key and got lots o "vitamins" *cough* steroids *cough* *cough* and went to the gym. I soon defeated blaine, using Suki (rock slide) Emile (surf) and Trelawney (special-defensiveness. Many pokes fainted along the way due to my idiocy and unluckiness. I went to viridian and took down Giovanni, who was EXTREMELY easy, using every single one of my pokes. Maybe two took damage? Then I healed up and took on that jerk Gary. Basic rundown.
Tentacruel vs Pidgeot death by icebeam Hypno vs Alakazam death by shadowball
Tentacruel vs rhyhorn death by surf Exeggcutor vs growlithe death by psychic
Exeggcutor vs Gyarados death by solarbeam Exeggcutor vs Venusaur death by psychic
Only tentacruel took damage. Now I am at Victory Road. *groan* I hate this place....

DA TEAM

Spoiler:

Inara, Female, Level 46

Moves: Return, Featherdance, Wing Attack, Toxic Ability: Keen Eye Nature: Bashful
Thoughts: For some reason, she has improved! I haven't even used toxic that much, but overall she is just bulkier and stronger. It isn't like I'm over-leveled, so it's definitely all her! 8.5/10
Stats:135/98/82/74/78/108

Suki, Female, Level 46

Moves: Earthquake, Aerial Ace, Rock Slide, Karate Chop Ability: Vital Spirit Nature: Lonely
Thoughts: She's just as good as before, perhaps better. Aerial ace is really great for coverage, an I'm sure earthquake will be too once I use it! 9.75/10
Stats:124/126/65/66/78/117

Trelawney, Female, Level 46

Moves: Shadow Ball, Hypnosis, Thunderwave, Psychic Ability: Insomnia Nature: Calm
Thoughts: Just as good, but with a better moveset. Thunderwave tops hypnosis 500% with accuracy, and shadow ball helps me take down those psychic types that Trelawney is so good against (Alakazam for example). 8.75/10
Stats: 152/72/81/82/143/86

Haymitch, Male, Level 45

Moves: Sunny Day, Solar Beam, Leech Seed, Psychic Ability: Chlorophyll Nature: Modest
Thoughts: After evolving, he rocks. Period. His special attack is AMAZING, although he doesn;t have a ton else going for him besides it (and HP). But who cares! 9/10
Stats: 154/89/89/144/77/63

Emile, Male, Level 46

Moves: Barrier, Giga Drain, Ice Beam, Surf Ability: Clear Body Nature: Mild
Thoughts: He is awesome. Great Hp, Speed, Special Attack/ Defense. And an awesome new moveset! THANKS SAMUTHEGREAT!!!
Stats: 145/78/60/114/121/117

LAST UPDATE!!!

Made my way through victory road, it wasn't quite as bad as I thought it would be (I think I was thinking of sapphires V.R.) When I reached the elite four, my pokes were around Lvl 47, so for kicks, I decided to take on the elite four. Surprisingly, I did pretty well managing to get all the way up to Lance. After failing that battle multiple times, I decided to train in victory road...which lasted all of 10 minutes, getting everyone up to level 49. It really bored me, and I did pretty well before, my main downfall was lack of items. So I took them down again, restocked on full restores, revives etc. Lorelei - took down her dewgong with a couple brick breaks from Suki. Then I defeated her slowbro, cloyster and ALMOST her lapras with a sunny day solar beam combo from haymitch. Her lapras survived with like 2 HP, so Suki finished her up with a brick break and took down the Jynx with a rock slide from Suki. Check. Then Bruno. EASY! Took him on with Trelawney who beasted through with many calm minds used when the onix was out and then psychics to take down the rest. Agatha, not much harder. Used Emile with barrier to protect against shadowballs. Ended up having to use multiple berries as I was paralyzed, poisoned and confused... BUT Emile prevailed with many surfs and an icebeam or two here and there. Next, the dreaded Lance. Took down Gyarados with sunny day solar beam combo used by Haymitch, as well as almost taking down aerodactyl with the same combo (he survived by a hair... and knocked me out) Then I brought in Inara... which ended with her fainting... He was taken out by Emile, who destroyed the dragonairs and the dragonite with ice beam/barrier combo. Last. GARY. Took down his Pidgeot with an ice beam and a surf by Emile, then his Alakazam with a thundershock/calm mind/ shadow ball combo by Trelawney (I had her hold a cheri berry to avoid the synchronize paralyzation) and then had her try to take out gyarados, which failed. Suki an Inara came in to help an got rid of gyarados and arcanine with the cost of their "lives". At this point I had run out of every healing item. *Gulp* But, Emile and Haymitch to the rescue! Emile took down rhydon, left with very low HP. HAYMITCH TO THE RESCUE! Two psychics later on that venusaur that was dumb enough to try and set up on a psychic destroyer like Haymitch....I BECAME CHAMPION!!!!!!!!
As for thoughts on my team... everything is the same as above except Suki was level 50, Haymitch and Inara were level 49, and Emile and Trelawney were level 51. Movesets and my thoughts are the same.
AWARDS!
MVP: Emile + Trelawney
LVP: ...I liked them all...
Elite Destroyers: Emile + Trelawney
Most Improved: Inara + Haymitch
Steadiest: Suki
Most Strategic Movesets: Inara/Haymitch/Emile
Underused: Inara
Overused: Emile

My diamond updates will come soon, however....
I'D LIKE TO START ANOTHER CHALLENGE! This time on crystal, it's on the computer, is that okay? There isn't any way to cheat or speed it up...

@King! - I've added you to the HGSS Challengers list, but I already have you down under RSE. Should I assume your RSE challenge has been cancelled and take you off that list?

@KoboraX - likewise, I've added you to the BW list, but I've already got you down under RBY, GSC and DPPt - should I take you off those three?

@GolurkIsDaBomb - well done on finishing your FRLG leg, and I'm glad you liked Emile's moveset suggestions. My own Tentacruel, Gem, really improved my opinion of them as team members, with that very same moveset. I've updated the Champions list with your FR team - seeing as you've now beaten Kanto and Hoenn, with Sinnoh on the way and Johto about to begin, would you like me to add you to the Ultimate Challengers list? In the meantime, though, here's your Johto team (of course using an emulator is fine. I actually don't mind hacking team members in at lv.1, as long as egg moves are kept within reason):

Clefable, Beedrill, Weezing, Scyther and... Blissey.

Good luck finding Chansey :)

^^ Yes I'd like to do ultimate! The main problem will be white...
Ooof. That chansey... I don't think I realized the magnitude of that pokemon before I put it on the list... It isn't that I don't want to use it, it's just that it's so late in the game and at such a low level... I know I was the one that put it on there, but could I get a poke that's a bit earlier, like before the Elite Four? If not... I guess I could deal with it...

Oh yeah, please take me off the list o.o' I don't remember doing this before...hmmm...oh well xD Thank you~

Also, I don't really have enough to make a full update yet, btu I bred all the eggs, did all of the beginning stuff. Named myself KING, chose Cyndaquil just because I wanted to see what it looked like walking behind me, then sped through Mr. Pokemon's house and my rival, QUEEN, to whom Cyndaquil lost, thus never gaining a single experience point), and finally got the Pokeballs from Lyra.

After that I traded the eggs over, and put two in my party as well as Cyndaquil. Then I ran around until one hatched, and Nosepass was the first to come out :3 I named him MOOSE~

After that I switched out Cyndaquil for the remaining four eggs. Training Moose was kinda tough at first since it was level one, but evnetually I got it up there, and my second egg hatched, Mudkip. :3 So now I'm just going through to the next town, training my two who have hatched and waiting for the others~

Awesome! I'll go with Aerodactyl, and probably hack a couple in towards the beginning since a few are very late in the game. Off to get started!

EDIT;

Update!

  • Started the Game
  • Picked Bulbasaur
  • Did all the Prologue stuff.
  • Hacked in my Tauros.
  • Named him Ben. Because I can.
  • Hacked in Psyduck.
  • Called her Sally. Because...I'm not sure!
  • Overpowered Brock with Ben's Horn Attack. <3
  • Remembered that back in Gen III, Psyduck didn't naturally learn any water moves until level 50...D:
  • Continued on, wiping out trainers.
  • Grinding in Mt. Moon!
  • Caught a Paras.
  • Named her Addison. Because it's cute. x3
  • Caught Addison up to Sally's level.
  • Kicked my rival's butt and cleared out Nugget Bridge.
  • I still want to join Team Rocket. >.>
  • Hacked in my Aerodactyl.
  • Named her Peyton.
  • Cleared out the trainers above Celadon.
  • Helped Bill.
  • Cleared out Misty's gym.
  • Beat Misty!
  • TAUGHT SALLY WATER PULSE. Now she can be a useful water-type. ^_^
  • Taught Addison Bullet Seed because she needed an offensive grass-type move.
  • End play session. ;D
Team;
Spoiler:

Peyton the Aerodactyl
Bashful || Rockhead
Level 15
40/28/27/30/47

  • Wing Attack
  • Agility
  • Bite
  • ---
Opinion: I just caught Peyton so I don't want to form a full opinion yet, but she is pretty awesome. She has high stats for being the lowest level. I just hope her defense catches up a bit. Right now she's actually rather fragile.

Addison the Paras
Brave || Effect Spore
Level 19
37/29/26/28/13

  • Scratch
  • Bullet Seed
  • Poison Powder
  • Leech Life
Opinion: Pleasantly surprised! I'd tried using Paras once or twice during a nuzlocke, so I was sure they were just fragile and that Addison would be fainting a lot. However, she hits much harder than I thought she would, and as long as I don't get greedy with how long she battles, she actually does very well. Once she gets Spore, I definitely think she'll be one of my favorites. (:

Sally the Psyduck
Lonely || Cloud Nine
Level 19
34/24/31/25/29

  • Scratch
  • Water Pulse
  • Confusion
  • Disable

Opinion: Blah. I was really excited about Psyduck because I've always really liked them, but the lack of a water move in the beginning really kills it for them. Sally is more fragile than Addison, even, and I don't find myself using her as much as anyone else right now. Her redeeming factor is having Confusion, and hopefully now she has Water Pulse I'll find her more bearable.

Ben the Tauros
Naive || Intimidate
Level 21
52/50/23/36/62

  • Pursuit
  • Tail Whip
  • Rage
  • Horn Attack
Opinion: Ohmygosh, power house. Ben pretty much single-handedly (hornedly?) beat Brock. Thank goodness he did, because like I said, having no water moves or anything but normal moves then really made me nervous about the Rock-types. But by the time we got to Mt. Moon, Ben could one or two shot most of the Geodudes with Horn Attack. I'm liking his attack, defense, and speed. I'll just need to get some TMs on him soon, because he has too nice a movepool to waste. (:

If a Magickarp uses splash and no ones there to see it does it have a effect?

DIAMOND UPDATE NUMBER...gosh, is it really only number 2?

Briefing on team: Sudowoodo, Octillery, Murkrow, Magnemite, Stunky

Started from the moomoo milk restaurant, and went on that route to veilstone. Those ace trainers at the end almost killed me, just like they always do... Arrived at veilstone! Took on the gym, I knew it would be a tough one due to Lucario. Managed to make my way through with wing attack/psybeam from Bathilda the murkrow and Ursula the Octillery. Then, I took on Maylene. She was difficult, to say the least, but Bathilda/Octillery took out her meditite and machoke with little difficulty. I believe That James the sudowoodo delivered the final blow to her accursed Lucario. Then I had to help out Dawn with her girl troubles...sigh. Got fly and continued down to Pastoria city. I took on that battle restaurant, and R2D2 the magnemite evolved! dun..dun... Then I got to Pastoria, helped some pokes remember moves, and went to the great marsh for fun and picked up defog. I took on the gym, with no effort. R2D2 took down Wake's Gyarados and Sudowoodo took down the quagsire and the floatzel with a wood hammer (it's too bad he doesn't have rock head...) Win! Then I had to chase after a loser grunt, and along the way came Barry! Ursula soloed him with ease. Beat that team rocket grunt with ease, and got the secret potion from Cynthia. Then I went back to hearthome through that route that I can't ever seem to remember. I went up to Celesic town (it was very foggy) and beat some jerk that wanted to blow up a cave? Saw my buddy Cyrus again. Then I challenged Fantina, using mainly Horace the stunky and Bathilda the Murkrow. After defeating her, Horace evolved into Skuntank, and learned flamethrower?! Apparently I'm not smart enough, cuz Cynthia thinks I need to study at some library. Hmph. Went to canalave, but took a short stop at the oreburgh gate to grab brick break. Destroyed Barry, even though I hadn't healed. Challenged the gym and used Horace's flamethrower and James' brick break to take down Byron. Then I had to go to the library...EARTHQUAKE! By team Galactic! Had to go to valor lake, took on Saturn, then went to Verity to destroy Mars. Game saved.

Da Team

Spoiler:

James Male Level 39

Moves: Rock Slide, Wood Hammer, Faint Attack, Brick Break Nature: Sassy Ability: Sturdy
Thoughts: The strongest of the team for sure! Great moveset, really diverse, very strong attack, defense, and special defense because of his nature. Definitely the star of the team! 10/10
Stats:107/90/112/34/73/36

Horace Male Level 38

Moves: Flamethrower, Night Slash, Toxic, Screech Nature: Lax Ability: Aftermath
Thoughts: Probably the most well-rounded, and a very strategic moveset. Not really the star since I prefer specialized pokemon more than jack-of-all-trades, but his typing is awesome to say the least! he's hardly ever hit with anything super-effective. 8/10
Stats:131/88/71/66/51/79

Bathilda Female Level 38

Moves: Aerial Ace, Night Shade, Faint Attack, Roost Nature: Sassy Ability: Super Luck
Thoughts: An awesome poke, and she isn't even fully evolved yet! Good Moveset, and a good ability. Her flying type-age is very helpful in Sinnoh for some reason. She rules! 8.5/10
Stats:97/84/40/77/51/74

R2D2 Genderless Level 39

Moves: Metal Sound, Flash Cannon, Shock Wave, Thunder Wave Nature: Sassy Ability: Magnet Pull
Thoughts: The special attack version of James, he's awesome. Surprisingly fast, when he needs to be, his special attack is off the hizzy! His moveset is awesome, it probably won't change too much. And the twelve resistances don't hurt either, plus he hasn't fully evolved! 10/10
Stats:102/60/93/108/72/59

Ursula Female Level 38

Moves: Octazooka, Focus Energy, Psybeam, Gunk Shot Nature: Adamant Ability: Sniper
Thoughts: A so-so pokemon, but I blame her nature and the fact that she learns mostly special moves. I'm doing my best to fix this however, so hopefully she'll get better soon? 7/10

*Sorry if this update isn't as detailed or may not be completely accurate, the events written happened like a month ago so my memory isn't the best, but it should still be pretty accurate.

Update! (After many many months...)

So, we left off after clearing the Fighting Dojo in an attempt to get my entire team. At this point, Cubone is the only one left to add, but I need the Silph Scope first... So...

- Cleared the Rocket Hideout, gaining much experience for Vulpix, Eevee, and Hitmonlee along the way.
- Cleared the first few floors of Pokemon Tower, catching a Cubone (finally).
- Went back and cleared many of the areas that I had skipped Trainers in - namely Routes 8-12 and Rock Tunnel. Cubone absolutely destroyed Lt. Surge in this process, too. Also cleared the remainder of Pokemon Tower and got the Poke Flute.
- Eevee was evolved into Jolteon, and Cubone evolved into Marowak.
- Went to Celadon Gym, and Vulpix ripped through Erika and her minions, with a bit of help from Jolteon.

Next up: Silph Co, and then Sabrina's scary Psychics!

Current Team:
Hitmonlee lv. 31
Jolteon Lv. 32
Marowak Lv. 32
Vulpix Lv. 33
Blastoise Lv. 41
Ch'Ding (Farfetch'd Lv. 6) - HM Slave

And then suddenly remember a good way into figuring out what I'm going to do, where I can catch my teammembers etc. that I've raised an oddish/gloom in my FR Nuzlocke *headknee*
Maybe if I evolve it into a belossom?

Anycase, we're going with Ruby, and we'll be starting with carvanha, seeings at it would only be obtainable after the fifth badge otherwise.
(wow, sudden feeling of nostalgia. I did raise a sharpedo once, but that was... what... nearly ten years ago now. The only thing I remember about the fact is that I had one... Gosh, I miss that team, and I can't even remember much of anything. Sceptile, gardevoir, my shiny donphan, sharpedo... pelipper? And... I can never remember... aggron, maybe? Ahhh... good times, those. Even if I was a terrible trainer back then.)
Once I manage to re-find working codes for it, at any rate...
...
All of them just crash it. =`_=;
Ooookay... let's try S and E and see if either of them will work with me...
... Emerald works. But in the interim PLOT! happened for Ruby. Would it be okay to go through Ruby and start getting the pokemon after the first gym, or should I just go with Emerald?

And now you know what I do when I get bored~

Crystal Update Number One!

Started game, named self Lurky since "Lurky-lurk" wouldn't fit...sigh. Picked chikorita, named it excluded, since that is exactly what it will be very soon, and did rest of pregame stuff. Met red-head kid, had to use excluded, and named him Sammu ( >: ) for enforcing that dang chansey) and continued on my way. Got some pokeballs, and soon caught Joffrey the weedle! Trained Joffrey up, had to use excluded a lot, reached violet and trained a ton in sprout tower. Along the way, Joffrey evolved! dun...dun... and then in sprout tower, the last sage before the elder.... Joffrey evolved! dun...dun.... Got flash, and went to beat Faulkner. Surprisingly easy, since Joffrey now knew fury attack. Continued on through rock tunnel, which wasn't easy when the only attacking moves you have versus an onix are low powered poison and normal type moves. After that, I got to Azalea, oh no! Team Rocket has stolen ze slowpokes! Went to help out kurt, easy enough. Took on Bugsy, which was incredibly easy. He sent out his metapod first, so I had Joffrey use 6 hardens, and one focus energy before spamming fury attack on the poor metapod, kakuna and scyther. Went through Ilex forest, and helped some kid find his bird, avoided as many trainers as possible in the next route, and reached the daycare. Picked up the bike from Goldenrod, and saved before the odd egg. Got a shiny tyrogue first, and then a cleffa! Named her Arkadina, and trained her a lot. Then, I went to challenge Whitney.... failure. SO, after looking up what "level" cleffa evolves, and learning it was by happiness, I ran around for an hour, at least. (every 512 steps = 1 point of happiness) As a cleffa, she was so weak that her level (17) was higher than her attack. Finally, I leveled her up and she EVOLVED! dun..dun... took on Whitney by taking her clefairy down with some twin-needles from Joffrey, and then a sweet kiss/sing/ice punch combo from Arkadina, which worked incredibly well (luckily Whitney didn't heal for some reason...) Then I saved.

Notes: Can't get Scyther too soon, because the time in the online version is measured in gametime, so the game still thinks it's Wednesday...

DA TEAM

Spoiler:

Joffrey Male Level 23

Moves: Twineedle, Focus Energy, Harden, Swift
Thoughts: Surprisingly strong and bulky when it comes to special attacks, doesn't react to well to super effective moves, but I think that if he has the right move set and I train him enough, he will be a threat. Can't say anything bad about im, since he's been my entire team until recently. 7.5/10
Stats:67/50/27/32/48/49

Arkadina Female Level 18

Moves: Ice Punch, Sweet Kiss, Dizzy Punch, Sing
Thoughts: I don't really know what to think, since she just evolved. I like her moveset for the time being, ice punch gives her a special attack that she is better at using and dizzy punch gives her a nice STAB move. Can't wait to evolve her again 6/10
Stats:57/23/24/29/31/20

Would it be okay to go through Ruby and start getting the pokemon after the first gym, or should I just go with Emerald?
I honestly don't mind, you've got quite a lot of freedom in this challenge. Other challengers have taken both approaches, so trade, hack or catch legitimately, whichever works best.

Okay, started Ruby.
PLOT! attacked me.

Spoiler:
Echo the carvanha is missing.
This is a terrible thing, because he has been my best friend for years, and was a gift from my uncle. I cannot find him, and mother is not being helpful at all. I always sort of got the feeling she didn't like him much, but that's just ridiculous. He's all kinds of sweet and wonderful.
I may have to extend our search range further in this new land.
Apparently our new neighbours have not seen him, and their elder son insinuated that I didn't have a pokemon, not even listening to a single thing I said, and promptly disappeared. I don't think I like that boy much.
And then I found a man who I knew, long ago, running around like a lunatic with a bunch of angry dogs baying at his heels.
We picked up a pokeball, lobbed it at one of them, released the blue pokemon that was inside, and all the other dogs bolted after the first one collapsed.
And then Daniel Birch dragged be back to town.
Finally able to explain to the man what was going on, he set me to get Ruby- his elder son, the annoying boy- in from his field studies. The blue pokemon, a mudkip, would be my guard.

It took a bit to find Annoying Boy, and he promptly refused to return to Littleroot unless we battled him. I let the mudfish take the lead, and apparently the few pokemon who had attacked us as we made our way here were useful, because it seemed to have very little problem taking out the lizard that Ruby used... and then the boy took off south without a word.
Have I mentioned that I think I hate this boy yet? I really want Echo back so that he can share his opinion. I'm so lonely...

At any rate, I headed back to Birch's lab, where he was talking with his son. After a greeting and a proper introduction, he handed me a pokedex and pokeballs. He's letting me keep the mudkip as a guard so I can keep searching for Echo.
I'll head for Petalburg, to see Dad.

-

Dad suggested that I keep looking around, that I take this as a chance to be a trainer and surpass him.
I don't care about being a trainer. I just want Echo back.
Why does nobody seem to care that he's missing?
Am I the only one?
Echo...

-

Making my way further, no sign of Echo in the sea here, or in the Petalburg lakes.
On north to Rustboro, then.

-

Treading carefully in the woods doesn't help when you have an urge to help the harassed... or stop the guy in the suit from getting mauled by Red-Pajama-Guy's dog (a poochyena, apparently, according to the pokedex)
He left in a huff after mudkip knocked his poochyena out. I admit, he is a pretty strong little thing (this pokedex is really useful. Even if I'm not a trainer, I'm not giving it back)... but he's nothing to Echo. Echo...
Suit guy, who never bothered introducing himself properly, handed us a great ball as thanks... and then seemed to realise something and took off.
Does that guy even have a pokemon with him? Why would you come into a wood with venomous and poisonous pokemon in it without protection?
Weirdo...
Onwards to Rustboro.

-

Wow, I don't get what the fuss about gyms is.
I haven't gone out of my way at all to train him, but the mudkip tore through everything in the gym like wet tissue, though the nosepass (thankyou again, Sir Pokedex) took a bit longer.
Leaving the building, however, treated us to the sight of Pajama Guy bolting with a suitcase, and Suit Guy... sort of hot on his heels. I don't think suits are really made for running.

And apparently this is what was going on before. Pajamas was trying to get some undisclosed documents- and now has them- and he isn't allowed for the obvious reason that they are undisclosed. Also, he stole them.

Some more careful winding through grass led us to the entrance of a cave with an old man collapsed on the outside of it.
He seemed devestated, once he was slightly more coherent.
Wow, Pajamas is a mean guy. Taking an old guys beloved friend? Not. On.
I know how it feels to be missing your most important friend.
Pajamas is going down.

-

What followed was short and brutal. Mr. Mudkip, who had been nothing but level headed and calm to this point promptly evolved in the battle, making it even more harsh. Threatening hapless birds and their human partners is apparently a no-no with him, too.

Pajamas bolted at top speed, after that- and somehow managed to get past the old man, who has all but breathing fire when he reached us. And attitude that promptly swung one-eighty at seeing the little bird was okay.
The joy emanating from both was almost palpable as they embraced.
Someday, I'll have a reunion like this with Echo. I swear it.

Mr.Briney and Peeko (a wingull, as it turns out) thanked us profusely and told us to visit any time, before hurrying home.

Suitman was also thankful, probably it's just luck that Pajamas dropped the suitcase behind him when we challenged eachother and forgot to pick it up again, because I had honestly forgotten about it once Peeko came up. Mr. Mud... Marshtomp, somewhat thankfully I suppose, did not.

-

And now Suitman's boss wants us to be a delivery girl. Gosh, I really love this region. I'm being used left and right.
The only consolation is that I'll be going further out, giving a wider range for finding Echo.

-

Mr.Briney is officially my favourite person ever. He is the only person I have met here so far that seems to care that my best friend is missing. It's really comforting.
He's promised to keep an eye out when he's sailing, and he's willing to take me in his boat with the two of them (well, us, I suppose, counting Mr. M)

-

Dewford is quite pretty, really. Mr. M seems to think so too.
The salty tang of the breeze just off the ocean is nice

-

Her name is Marlene, and she is a makuhita, and she is willing to help me.
She is the second- third?- individual that has been willing and happy to help he look for Echo after Briney and Peeko.
On the other hand, Mr. M has expressed that, now that I have a willing companion, he would very much like to stay here. I think I saw a few mudkip playing in the mangroves on the other side of Dewford town, and Mr. M has been kind enough to get me this far when he didn't really want to be with me, so it seems the least I could do.
I'll have to go back and tell Birch that he isn't coming back.
Marlene and I can train on the way.

-

Birch was understanding, though he seemed slightly disappointed. I really hope he wasn't thinking that his mudkip could replace Echo.
Because if he was, I would not be able to forgive it.

-

We were heading back to Briney's house, training a bit, when a bright flash of sparkles almost blinded me.
I... in all the time I have been in Hoenn (admittedly not long at all), I have never seen a vivid orange zigzagoon.
It tried to steal one of the pokeballs attached to my bag whilst I was still trying to blink the spots out of my eyes... and promptly tripped when Marlene used sand attack, bashing face first into the ground and triggering the pokeball and inadvertently catching herself in it.
I have no idea what to do about her.

--
To summarise, skipping the PLOT!
Chose mudkip, beat rival, avoided any and all trainer battles as best we could, beat Magma Guy, beat Roxanne, beat MG again, mudkip evolved, and proceeded to Briney's house.
We went to Granite cave and caught makuhita, deposited marshtomp, and headed back north to train on poochyena.
Then we reached level sixteen and... promptly ran into a shiny zigzagoon.
And my immediate reaction was to choke and think 'WHY DOES THIS KEEP HAPPENING IN MY CHALLENGES?!'
We caught it and called it ShinyCoon.

TEAM
Marlene
Makuhita, F, Lax, Lv.20, quick claw
Arm thrust, vital throw, sand attack, focus energy

- ShinyCoon the *zigzagoon

And now you know what I do when I get bored~

It's been a while since my previous update, but I've been pretty busy and have only been able to play the challenge for short periods of time. But then I had a free weekend and managed to finish off the main plot of Pokemon White (as in beating the Elite Four, N, and Ghetsis).

Unfortunately, I don't remember a lot of what happened because I've been playing on and off for such a long period of time, so I'm just going to skip out on the summary of the game's plot. Most of you know how it goes anyway.

So here's my team as of now:

Spoiler:
Dart / Toxicroak, Male, Adamant, lv51
Ability: Dry Skin
Drain Punch, Strength, Poison Jab, Sucker Punch
Thoughts: Definitely did come through after evolving and learning a Poison-type move to differentiate himself from Ziggy. He's also more offensive, whereas Ziggy turned into a more defensive Pokemon. Overall, he never really failed to disappoint. Great at taking out Grass types since I don't have any Fire-type moves. Also nice to use him in double battles with Howitzer since he gets an HP gain from Surf. 9/10

Rachna / Galvantula, Female, Timid, lv51
Ability: Compoundeyes
Thunder, Signal Beam, Thunder Wave, Flash
Thoughts: I don't know what Thunder's accuracy is with Compoundeyes and a Wide Lens equipped, but it never missed for me. And a 120 base power STAB attack coming off Rachna's good Special Attack is no laughing matter. She made short work of any Water types that dared to stand in my way. Signal Beam also got a little bit of use in taking out Dark and Psychic types, though I had two Fighting types and three Dark types who tended to take care of those types. Thunder Wave and Flash were almost never used (actually, I think I only used them to make catching Cobalion easier when I went after it). 9/10

Selene / Honchkrow, Female, Naughty, lv52
Ability: Insomnia
Fly, Foul Play, Roost, Night Shade
Thoughts: The last one to evolve also ended up being the one with the highest Attack stat. Though even as a Murkrow, she was a pretty big threat and kept up with my other team members for a while. I was so relieved when I finally got Fly because Peck really wasn't cutting it. I thought Roost would be handy, but I never used it. She has a good HP stat, but low defense, so she couldn't take hits as well as I would've liked (and she also could stand to be a tad faster) but she was generally able to pull through. 8/10

Howitzer / Octillery, Male, Quiet, lv53
Ability: Sniper
Surf, Ice Beam, Bullet Seed, Signal Beam
Thoughts: The first one on my team to evolve, so he seemed really strong at first. Much too slow for my liking, but he did have good bulk to make up for it. His high Special Attack and access to Ice Beam made him my go-to guy for fighting Dragon types (specifically the last gym, which he dominated with some help from Ziggy). Bullet Seed was surprisingly helpful in taking out the Water/Ground toad Pokemon (I can't recall their names off the top of my head). Overall, a decent Water Pokemon who could take a hit and then deal out serious damage. 8/10

Ziggy / Scrafty, Male, Jolly, lv54
Ability: Moxie
Drain Punch, Crunch, Ice Punch, Dragon Dance
Thoughts: Remains the MVP of this team. Great defenses backed up by a high Attack and decent Speed. His moveset barely changed over the course of the game but it didn't really need to. He shakes off just about anything that hits him and then uses Drain Punch to recover what little health he lost. I don't think he ever fainted, even to super-effective hits. He took out Ghetsis's Hydreigon in one Ice Punch. I love this guy. In fact, I'm going to breed one to put on my tournament team because he's just that awesome. 10/10

Sarcos / Krookodile, Male, Hasty, lv55
Ability: Moxie
Crunch, Earthquake, Sand Attack, Dragon Claw
Thoughts: I've got mixed feelings about this guy. On one hand, he's the guy who took out N's Reshiram (man it felt weird to fight that battle without using Zekrom since the whole last segment of the game leading up to it was building up a fight between Reshiram and Zekrom). On the other hand, he's way too frail. His defenses actually look decent in comparison to my other Pokemon, but for some reason, Sarcos just went down way more often than anyone else. He didn't get Earthquake until the battle with Ghetsis so I didn't really get to use that (Dig was his Ground move of choice up until then). I wanted to like him because he looks cool, but he really frustrated me to no end with how much he fainted. I think I should have gone with Intimidate as an ability instead of Moxie. Sarcos was okay when he could one-shot stuff, but when he didn't, he tended to get hurt really bad. 7/10

Now it's time to tackle the post-game stuff. Whew, I thought I was getting over-leveled there near the end (in fact, I stopped fighting wild Pokemon because I wasn't feeling challenged enough with my Pokemon 5-10 levels higher than all the opponents') but now I'm a few levels lower than I'd like.

Overall, this is a good team and this hasn't really felt like a challenge - it's more like a chance to try out new stuff. I'm thinking I might do Platinum next, but I'll have to make sure to use weaker Pokemon so it's more difficult. Maybe I'll combine this challenge with a mono-Bug challenge or something. I've always wanted to use a team consisting entirely of crappy early Bug Pokemon.

Thanks for the update ahungryhamster, and glad you've enjoyed the "challenge." I admit it's not a difficult challenge, I devised it more because of its usefulness than for its difficulty. I had a whole bunch of Pokemon I'd always wanted to use rotting away in my PC boxes, and I had no particular reason to use any of them, so I came up with a reason :)

Good luck with the post-game stuff, remember you need to beat the Elite 4 rematches in order to become our first Gen V Champion!

Moveset:Faint Attack-Egg Move
Brick Break
Earthquake
Rock Tomb
Opinion:Unchanged ,but for a reason, untill it learns a bug move/more powerful fighting/rock/dark/ghost attack.Sooo good, it one shot Maylene's Lucario!! Nothing one shots a Lucario.I like his stats too, they look dope.10/10

Defog
Opinion:So I don't know how but she's a little better. Admittedly she kills nothing by herself. She's that little n00b who steals your kills. She got defog because of my lazyness but all its move set hopefully won't be its final moveset. 5/10

Food Inc/[email protected] Bell
Brave/Scrappy/Level 27/Female
Stats:95/66/68/37/52/59
Moveset:Return
Curse-Egg Move
Brick Break
Milk Drink
Opinion:I love her. I just hit everything, I have a 100% move coverage with 2 attacks and a ability. Not even fighting types hurt it too bad, I just generally love her, Jaw's competition for MVP due to hit base and bulk. 9/10.

Piranha/[email protected]
Lax/Swift Swim/Level 27/Female
Stats:77/68/72/64/54/45
Moveset:Water Pulse
Bite
Return
Ice Fang
Opinion:BOOM! Moveset change, what now dragon and grass types ? Mixed offensive set, hits hard, with a multitude of moves, and she loves me enough to OHKO things with return. 9/10.

WildThing/[email protected]
Careful/Leaf Guard/Level 27/Male
Stats:77/46/71/62/44/53
Moveset:Mega Drain
Confusion-Egg Move
Sleep Powder
Shock Wave
Opinion:So that growth stratergy is gone. I like the idea of sweeping Crasher Wakes team with Wild Thing. Sleep Powder is the sets main stay. I need anient power soon, so I don't know what to temporarily replace, I'm thinking Shock Wave, as it isn't as generally useful as the other 2 but I'm undecided.Seems to kill a lot of important enemies.9/10

Alright, here is another update for my challenge on Leaf Green!

- Cleared Silph Co. with ease - the trainers there were essentially a level booster.
- Went and beat Sabrina - Jolteon and Blastoise knew Bite, so it wasn't difficult at all.
- Cleared the Cycling Road routes and the Lavender-Fuschia routes.
- Finally decided that it was time, and evolved Vulpix into Ninetales.
- Did the whole Safari Zone thing, getting the Gold Teeth and Surf.
- Took on Koga, and a team effort disposed of him easily.
- Breezed through to Cinnabar Island.
- Beat Blaine, and did so without even using Blastoise in the battle. Yeah, Jolteon, Hitmonlee, and Marowak took care of him easily.
- Went to One Island with Bill, got Rock Smash, searched all over for items, found Lostelle, etc.
- Came back, and cleared Route 21.
- Went to Viridian Gym and took down Giovanni - everyone except Ninetales got in on the action.
- Beat Gary, and everyone took him down.
- Breezed through Victory Road, picking up some needed exp along the way.

- LORELEI: Hitmonlee took out Dewgong and Lapras, Ninetales took on Jynx, and Jolteon defeated Slowbro and Cloyster with ease. Not too difficult of a battle.
- BRUNO: Blastoise took down the first Onix, Ninetales beat Hitmonchan. Machamp actually posed a bit of a problem, but Marowak and Blastoise combined to beat it. Hitmonlee defeated Hitmonlee, and wound up finishing off Onix, too. Strangely was the toughest battle of the Elite Four.
- AGATHA: Jolton = spammed the ghosts with Bite. Thunderbolted Golbat to death. Marowak come in just to get a bit of action, and took down Arbok with a couple of Bonemerangs.
- LANCE: Jolteon exploited Gyarados' 4x electric weakness, and Blastoise took down the dragons and Aerodactyl. Surprisingly, it took two Ice Beams for each of the dragons - Blastoise isn't quite as good as I thought.
- GARY: Everyone combined to take this guy down, except for Hitmonlee, that is. Jolteon got Pidgeot, Gyarados, and Alakazam. Blastoise beat Rhydon, Ninetales beat Venusaur, and Marowak got in against Arcanine, but Blastoise finished off the battle.

And that concludes the first round of the Elite Four! One of the easier treks that I can remember. Marowak was pretty much useless, and Jolteon was an absolute stud. Now, I have 45 pokemon in the 'dex, so I need 15 more to progress through the rest of the islands and take down the elite four. Then, the challenge will be complete!

Team:
Marowak Lv. 50
Ninetales Lv. 52
Hitmonlee Lv. 52
Blastoise Lv. 53
Jolteon Lv. 54

CRYSTAL UPDATE NUMBER 2
After kicking Whitney's butt, I headed north. I sprinkled some water on a weird tree and continued on my way. Met my rival, Sammu, who I destroyed with some ice-punches by Arkadina. I set some crazy dogs loose (who let the dogs out? who, who who who!) and caught myself my 3rd party member.... akoffing! I named her Gertrude and headed to the gym. I taught Gertrude rollout and after some training she was able to blast through Morty's Gastly, Haunter and Gengar. Arkadina Ice-punched the final Haunter. Following that... I had to wait outside the national park for a good six hours (I just had the window open on my computer and saved when I was done using it) Finally, when the game clock registered as 12:01, I went to catch my fourth party member...which took forever, it was literally the last encounter before the time was up. But, I was able to catch a scyther, which was named Traeger (Parks And Recreation FTW) I went to Olivine where I saw my rival Sammu once again, and took on the lighthouse only to be told I wasn't wanted! I had to beat some kimono girls to get surf, and I had PSY? the psyduck take me across the sea. I beat Chuck after using Traeger's quick attack to take down the Primeape and having Gertrude self-destruct to take care of that annoying Poliwrath. I went back to challenge Jasmine before realizing I should take care of Pryce first, due to how he is lower-leveled. After capturing a red gyarados at the lake of rage, I went to the rocket hideout to take down those losers!

DA TEAM
Spoiler:

Joffrey Male Level 30

Moves: Twineedle, Focus Energy, Pursuit, Swift
Thoughts: Still pretty much the same. His strength always surprises me, since I always seem to doubt his strength. Twineedle is VERY nice :D 7.5/10
Stats: 85/65/34/42/63/63

Arkadina Female Level 31

Moves: Ice Punch, Fire Punch, Dizzy Punch, Sing
Thoughts: The core of the team. Ice punch and fire punch do really nice damage and tend to freeze/burn a lot which is very nice. I do my best not to overuse her. 8.75/10

Gertrude Female Level 31

Moves: Rollout, Smokescreen, Sludge, Selfdestruct
Thoughts: My favorite to be honest. She has great defense and sludge and rollout do lots of damage. She also did manage to take out Chuck's stupid Poliwrath, even though it cost her "life" 9.25/10

Traeger Male Level 31

Moves: Quick Attack, Leer, Wing Attack, Fury Cutter
Thoughts: Very strong, especially after gaining wing attack. Fury cutter is an awesome bug type move, granted it doesn't miss. He hits hard and fast which is helpful since the other team members lack a bit in speed (except for Joffrey). 8/10
