Well I've started my challenge in Soul Silver and decided to hack in Snover, Zangoose and Corphish since I couldn't wait to use them (I'll get the other ones where they are in the wild). I'm now in Union cave heading to Azalea town after finishing the Violet city Gym with only level 9 pokemon- was too impatient to level Zangoose and Corphish up properly.

It was interesting training all these from level 3 and each of them had their own drawbacks and strengths.

Team:

Snover ♂ @Miracle Seed level 13
Snow Warning- Rash

-Powder Snow
-GrassWhistle
-Razor Leaf
-Icy Wind

I've always wanted to raise this cute lil' critter from the start but were always found too late in the game. It's STAB moves have great coverage in the game, Ice is nets a lot of super effective hits on the Grass and Flying types. Breezed through Sprout Tower although opted not to use it against Falkner so the other team members could shine. I thought the infinite hail would be troublesome for the team but so far not yet, let's hope it won't be too much of a hassle later on.

Zangoose ♀@Shell Bell level 12
Immunity- Lax

-Scratch
-Leer
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance

Her ability is really useful against the Weedles and Ekanses (?) that populate Soul Silver. A bit of a pain to level up as it gains experience slow but she's quite strong herself, becoming even more of a monster when she learned Swords Dance at level 9, making the battle against Falkner's Pidgeotto easier with a boosted Quick Attack, even when underlevelled.

Corphish ♂ @None level 14
Hyper Cutter- Quiet

-Bubble
-Harden
-ViceGrip
-Rock Tomb

Quite a pain leveling up I have to admit, as it only had Bubble when I first caught it. Had to sit out from all the Bellsprouts in the Sprout Tower so he didn't get a good move until KOing Falkner's Pidgey, though at the time his health was too low to use his newly learned ViceGrip against Pidgeotto. Even though Bubble is weak, the Speed drops do come in handy and Corphish can take hits so far with Harden. Surprisingly and thankfully, he gains experience fast. Recenty found and taught him Rock Tomb as I plan to use him against Bugsy. Whereas he was useless in Sprout Tower, he is VERY useful in the caves, along with Snover (though I prefer Corphish as the Hail creates uneccessary turns that slow my progress down)

EDIT: lol never mind the team, someone already posted XD

I started my Blue 'The Ones That Got Away' challenge. I played through the game until I reached the Viridian Forest where I caught my Pikachu. I trained my Pikachu a lot and went through the Forest. I then beat Brock (just). I went east until I reached Mt. Moon. I went inside Mt. Moon and caught a Paras and Clefairy. Part way through Mt. Moon I evolved Clefairy. Once I got to Cerulean City I beat Gray and then helped Bill and got the SS. Ticket. I then went back and defeated Misty. I am currently in Cerulean City.

Ashachu (Pikachu) Lv22.
Moves: Thundershock, Growl, Thunder Wave, Quick Attack.

Slicendice (Paras) Lv19.
Moves: Scratch, Stun Spore.

Pippy (Clefable) Lv20.
Moves: Bubblebeam, Growl, Sing, Mega Punch.

Update:
-Saved the Slowpokes. Zangoose easily plowed through Team Rocket and their poison types.
-Challenged the Rival. Snover vs Croconaw was fun as soon as Grasswhistle hit before grabbing 2 Critical hit Razor Leaves in a row.
-Challenged Bugsy. Scyther ran away after being hit by Corphish's Rock Tomb sending Metapod as a replacement, which allowed time for the crayfish to set up Harden and heal (Leer+U-turn left him in red). The next time Scyther came out he didn't stand a chance when he stupidly used Focus Energy.
-Zoomed through Ilex Forest, teaching Zangoose a stronger STAB move in Headbutt, then used that to find a Pineco in the next route.
-Went back to Ilex Forest to teach Pineco Headbutt to replace Tackle as Bug Bite doesn't do enough damage.
-Skipped as much trainers as I can to grab a Nidoran F, levelling Pineco along the way when those annoying trainers face you the moment you take another step. Pineco levels up quite fast actually.
-Defeated some Guards while the moon is still out.

My team"
Spoiler:

Nidoran♀ @None Level 14
Poison Point- Calm
-Poison Sting
-Scratch
-Tail Whip
-Double Kick

Has been quite bulky despite its cute, little exterior. Will do more training and buy some TMs later and will be my secret weapon against Whitney.

Snover ♂ @Miracle Seed level 16
Snow Warning- Rash

-Powder Snow
-GrassWhistle
-Razor Leaf
-Icy Wind

Hasn't been used much actually as I rushed through getting my newest pokemon and training them to catch up. Still useful though when needed.

Zangoose ♀ @Shell Bell level 16
Immunity- Lax
-Fury Cutter
-Headbutt
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance

Headbutt just decimates teams, making Zangoose even better. Strangely though, she can't learn Cut (not that I want to replace anything with it, I have a HM Slave Cyndaquil for that). Still very good against the Poison types with their Poison Stings and Poison Points around, not having to worry about Poison at all.

Corphish ♂ @None level 17
Hyper Cutter- Quiet
-Bubble
-Harden
-ViceGrip
-Rock Tomb

Has been growing very fast and is now the highest leveled member of my team. The amount of experience he gains is pretty insane, but I'm trying to hold off using him for now for the newcomers to catch up. Contemplating if I should teach him Dig or if someone else should learn it...

Pineco ♂ @Quick Claw level 16
Sturdy- Calm
-Headbutt
-Protect
-Selfdestruct
-Bug Bite

This guy has a very good Defense stat. Bug Bite is important as his only Bug STAB for now and will be useful against Whitney's Miltank later on (or any other berry holding gym leader's pokemon). The -Atk nature doesn't bother me too much as he won't be much of an attacker and similarly to Nidoqueen will take more defensive roles later on. Thinking of replacing Selfdestruct with one of the screen TMs at the moment (i don't like KOing my pokemon)

I defeated the Team Rocket member in Cerulean City and then headed south. After I arrived in Vermillion City I went east and caught a Drowzee. I then went on the SS. Anne. While on the SS. Anne Paras evolved. I then beat my rival and got Cut. I then went and beat Lt. Surge. After that I went back to Cerulean City and then went east. I went into Dark Cave and during my exploration Drowzee evolved. I then got to Lavender Town. I then travelled west to Celedon City. Where I evolved Raichu. I then went to Saffron City and beat the Fighting Dojo. I went back to Celedon City and defeated Team Rocket and then Erika. I am currently in Celedon City.

Ashachu (Raichu) Lv32.
Moves: Thunderbolt, Swift, Thunder Wave, Submission.

Slicendice (Parasect) Lv32.

Pippy (Clefable) Lv32.
Moves: Bubblebeam, Tri Attack, Sing, Mega Punch.

Hemingway (Hypno) 32.
Moves: Headbutt, Hypnosis, Mega Kick, Confusion.

I then went back to Lavender Town and ridded Team Rocket from the Pokemon Tower. I then went and got the Super Rod and then I caught a Poliwhirl, which I then evolved. I then travelled to Fuchsia City and got Surf and beat the gym. I then went to Cinnabar Island quickly and got an Aerodactyl. I then flew to Saffron City and saved the Silph Co. I then went and beat the gym. I am currently in Saffron City.

Ashachu (Raichu) Lv40.
Moves: Thunderbolt, Swift, Thunder Wave, Submission.

Slicendice (Parasect) Lv40.

Satoshi (Poliwrath) Lv40.
Moves: Surf, Hypnosis, Earthquake, Ice Beam.

Fossil (Aerodactyl) Lv40.
Moves: Wing Attack, Bite, Fly, Supersonic.

I then went to Pallet Town and surfed south to Cinnabar Island. I then went into the Mansion and got the key. I then went into the gym and won. I then went back to Viridian City and beat Giovanni for the last time. I went west and beat my rival and the continued to and through Victory Road. I then challenged the Pokemon League.
Lorelei: Only needed Raichu.
Bruno: Poliwrath and Hypno dominated.
Agatha: Hypno almost soloed her and Aerodactyl finished her off.
Lance: Raichu, Poliwrath and Clefable defeated him.
Rival: Raichu, Poliwrath did some and Parasect dominated.
I've now finished my challenge on Blue.

Update:
-Battle all the trainers within the Goldenrod vicinity.
-Nidoran evolved into Nidorina
-Bought some TMs leaving me next to no money, saving some for later since I'm still not sure who to teach the TMs too (I wish it were like Gen V and not single-use :()
-Went into the Goldenrod Gym and challenged Whitney.
-Clefairy fell easy to Zangoose's Slash.
-Miltank took a bit longer, although she wasn't as threatening as in previous runs. Started with Pineco to Bug Bite that Lum Berry away then switched to Nidorina to hopefully make Poison Point activate and also because she has Double Kick.
-Had to heal Nidorina before Miltank was finally poisoned and when she started the Rollout of Doom I switched into Pineco (WHAT!? A bug type against Rollout?!) and used PROTECT to stop the pesky move.
-Because I wanted my newest members some gym battle experience, I went back to Zangoose when Nidorina's health was a bit low again (damn Stomp) and used Quick Attack but because Miltank had red health Whitney healed.
-Zangoose then used Swords Dance and did another Quick Attack, although falling short of the KO. Luckily Zangoose somehow survived another Stomp from half health and the next Quick Attacked KOed the cow.
-Got the badge and the Squirtbottle.

My team:
Spoiler:

Nidorina ♀ @None Level 18
Poison Point- Calm
-Poison Sting
-Scratch
-Tail Whip
-Double Kick

Nidoran evolved and can now survive more hits and actually do a bit more damage with its -Atk nature. Used her against Miltank but the cow's defense was too strong although Nidorina did get a few crits. Poison Point didn't really kick as fast as I would have liked though. I really like the look of the Moon Ball she is in.

Snover ♂ @Miracle Seed level 18
Snow Warning- Rash

-Powder Snow
-GrassWhistle
-Razor Leaf
-Icy Wind

Hasn't been used much in anything important unfortunately, although part of it is because I did not want my team to be pelted by Hail too much.

Zangoose ♀ @Shell Bell level 18
Immunity- Lax
-Fury Cutter
-Slash
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance

Finally learned Slash and deleted Headbutt, since Slash had the same power but with a chance of a crit. Also I wanted to save Quick Attack for the speedy cow (Miltank is faster than it looks). Never let me down and surprisingly survived a few of Miltank's Stomps.

Corphish ♂ @None level 18
Hyper Cutter- Quiet
-Bubble
-Harden
-ViceGrip
-Rock Tomb

Been taking a backseat as well to let Nidorina and Pineco shine. Not sure if I want to use my Payback or Dig TM (or both) yet, Corphish can learn Payback at a much later level and I'm not sure if I should reserve the TM for Pineco instead. Dig is the only Ground move it can learn so it would be good coverage with Rock and maybe I can reserve Earthquake for another pokemon.

Pineco ♂ @Quick Claw level 18
Sturdy- Calm
-Headbutt
-Protect
-Selfdestruct
-Bug Bite

Really sturdy, Protect has been a lifesaver (very effective against Rollout). Thinking of teaching it one of the screens to support the team- although Pineco doesn't need the Reflect boost himself I'm tempted to have an uber Defensive Pineco at this stage of the game XD. Light Screen makes more sense for the next Gym though...

No worries, I'll believe you. I'm nice like that. Congratulations on becoming the 6th Champion! You've been added to the Champions list.

As for my Challenge... It's sort of stagnated for the time being. I've recently got my Xbox back from repairs and have started Mass Effecting again, so I'm not really playing Pokemon just at the moment. I'll get it done soon enough though.

Update:
-Set dogs free, beat rival then Morty
-finally got Surf, went to Ruins of Alph to find my final member of the team
-Finding the right Natu was really annoying as they tend to Teleport away. I also wanted to get the lowest level one (lvl 18) so I would have Night Shade, thinking that was the only way Natu could get constant damage but realised later that in early levels Night Shade was pretty disappointing.
-Also got the Moon Stone and evolved Nidoqueen so she could learn Body Slam (always love using this move)
-Surfed to Cianwood, beat Eusine then Chuck (a bit tricky being all level 25 and under but made it)
-Evolved Natu.

My team:
Spoiler:

Nidoqueen ♀ @Quick Claw Level 26
Poison Point- Calm
-Bite
-Body Slam
-Blizzard
-Double Kick
Very bulky although against Chuck's Primeape Rock Slide still did a bit of damage besides the resist because of Leer, annoying Double Team spamming and the flinching :(. Can at least do more damage now looking back to when it was a Nidoran and I just love Body Slam and its paralysis effect. Blizzard is used in conjunction with Snover's Hail, so I at least have a strong yet accurate move under Hail.

Snover ♂ @Miracle Seed level 25
Snow Warning- Rash

-Blizzard
-GrassWhistle
-Razor Leaf
-Icy Wind

For once the fact Goldenrod had the more powerful yet inaccurate elemental TMs worked in my favour, since I just remembered Hail made Blizzard 100% accurate. The Hail can be annoying sometimes but also works in favour when Nidoqueen poisons the opponent and when Corphish stalls with Protect.

Zangoose ♀ @Shell Bell level 25
Immunity- Lax
-Shadow Claw
-Slash
-Quick Attack
-Swords Dance

Never fearing Poison is a big weight off my shoulders compared to other playthroughs. Very useful when Surfing (damn Tentacools). Easily beat Morty's Gengar (I let other mons shine with the other Ghosts). Still stalling for when I will have to replace Slash with Strength since I love that move and Quick Attack still has its uses although I'll have to get rid of one of them soon.

Corphish ♂ @None level 26
Hyper Cutter- Quiet
-Knock Off
-Surf
-ViceGrip
-Rock Tomb

Just finally learned a Dark move and before that it was Protect, which was always useful. A solid member, although it doesn't stand out yet like Zangoose but its not deadweight either. The last two moves have been getting weaker against trainers now so Surf is my main move of choice.

Pineco ♂ @None level 25
Sturdy- Calm
-Headbutt
-Payback
-Light Screen
-Bug Bite

Payback is a BEAST with its low Speed, giving Pineco a 100 bp dark type move. Very useful against Morty, but at the time was silly and forgot to remove Quick Claw (thankfully it only activated maybe once). My main reason for Light Screen (to protect the team from Gengar) turned out useless as Zangoose resisted its only special move but it still has its uses, making Pineco take hits better in the Special side. Very fun to uses, Pineco takes hits like a champ.

Xatu ♂ @None level 26
Synchronise- Jolly
-Night Shade
-Confuse Ray
-U-turn
-Reflect

Took a while to finally get a good Natu- when I finally had the ability I wanted it had to have a -SpAtk nature. It isn't too bad though as Xatu is more of a supporter and the extra Speed does its job and Night Shade remedies any power drop. Its natural movepool is very poor however, not learning any STAB move anytime soon (Peck at level 1, Psychic as its very last move level 59 :(). Its movepool is very fun to use however, I typically get a screen up and U-turn out so I don't lose momentum and get some damage in at least. Confuse Ray is always fun as well although I'm considering using the Shadow Ball TM to replace either this or Night Shade. I'll also have to teach it Fly as well so maybe not..

Update 10:

Finally, another update from me - it's been well over a month since my last proper update! Oops. Anyways, me and my bros carried on through Kanto, trekking through Diglett's Cave after nailing the Snorlax who got in the way. I reached Pewter and took down Brock with no real trouble - Omastar did the bulk of the work but was taken down by an annoying Giga Drain crit from Kabutops. Dragonite did the rest.

I then Surfed down South from Pallet Town, avoiding all the trainers because I frankly couldn't be bothered. Ocean routes always did annoy me. I got to Seafoam eventually and ruined Blaine using a combination of Pokemon - I seem to recall Toxicroak taking down his Rapidash in impressive style (like I say, he likes a challenge).

I returned to Cinnabar to talk to Gary, then Flew straight back to Viridian. The last Gym puzzle really does my head in; it's not hard, it's just a pain in the ass. Anyway I started the fight and had a bit of a brain fart - Exeggutor is of course Grass/Psychic - NOT Grass/Poison - so Girafarig's Psychic didn't do too much, and Leaf Storm ruined my poor giraffe's day. The rest of Gary's Pokemon actually put up a reasonable fight though. Toxicroak took down Exeggutor before falling to Pidgeot (damn Air Slash crit). Omastar finished the bird off, before Machamp critted Stone Edge and nailed Mismagius. Dragonite finished the bulky fool off.

Omastar then OHKOd Rhydon and 2HKOd Arcanine (including a clever use of Mud Shot to take the dog's Speed down enough for Surf to finish him off - clever Omastar). Finally I switched in Dragonite against BLOODY Gyarados (I really, really hate that Pokemon). Dragon Rush didn't kill it - thanks to Intimidate - and then it missed second time, when a second Ice Fang finished off Dragonite for his first fainting since he evolved. Practically the first time he's taken any damage since he evolved, even. Pinsir jumped in and finished Gyarados off in impressive style, thanks to Rock Slide, which I taught him after Brock.

So, all 16 badges down, I got a call from Professor Oak. He gave me Rock Climb, and I'm now trying to figure out where to find a slave who can learn Cut, Rock Smash AND Rock Climb. Suggestions anyone?

Next I'll be training to beat Red, and the Challenge will be complete!

The Team:
Spoiler:

Toxicroak, Male, Relaxed, Lv.58
Poison Jab, Brick Break, Sludge Bomb, Nasty Plot
Impressions: Still great, although I'm considering replacing Nasty Plot with Focus Blast again...

Omastar, Male, Mild, Lv.59
AncientPower, Mud Shot, Ice Beam, Surf
Impressions: Probably the star of the team overall - if we're including Dragonite's mild rubbishness before he evolved. Brilliant coverage with his moves, and great defences.

Mismagius, Female, Docile, Lv.58
Confuse Ray, Charge Beam, Shadow Ball, Dark Pulse
Impressions: Actually hasn't done much since the last update (except faint against Blue's Machamp - grr. I don't think her Sp.Atk IV is very good, I might check that out in the Battle Frontier. She still never falls behind in level though - probably due to her handy knack of picking up big scalps against Gym Leaders (Blue aside). One to watch against Red's Snorlax, methinks...

Girafarig, Female, Sassy, Lv. 57
Zen Headbutt, Psychic, Crunch, Strength
Impressions: Steady if unspectacular. It was my fault that she fainted against Blue, not hers.

Dragonite, Male, Adamant, Lv.58
Dragon Dance, Dragon Rush, Waterfall, Fly
Impressions: Unsurprisingly brilliant. Dragon Rush hits like a ten-ton truck, especially after a couple of Dances. I just wish beyond all wishes that Dragonite looked more like Dragonair.

Pinsir, Male, Quiet, Lv.54
X-Scissor, Swords Dance, Rock Slide, Brick Break
Impressions: I think Pinsir's found his niche. Despite being the hardest to level up, he's become a real staple member of this team, coming up with surprising and impressive victories when I really needed them most - particularly against Blue's BLOODY Gyarados. He's sort of a specialist and a wild card at the same time - if I come up against a tricky opponent and I'm not quite sure how to deal with them, Pinsir often ends up being my go-to guy.

Alright, so Mr. Mime, Sandslash, and Golduck. Sweet. I'll have to hack in a Psyduck, since I decided to use Yellow, and you can only get Psyduck after you get Surf. Everything else I can get pretty early on, which is great.

Okay, here we go.

Spoiler:

*Began the game. Oak caught me a Pikachu, yayz.
*I defeat my rival and head off.
*Caught Psyduck, named it 'Psycho'. Deposited Pikachu.
*Continued on, grinding Psycho little by little.
*Just figured out that Psycho can't learn a Water-type move until I get Bubblebeam from Misty. *trolled*
*Psycho Scratched his way to victory in the battle with Brock. (literally)
*Caught a Sandshrew at Route 3. Beginning to grind. Nicknamed him 'Shrewd'.
*Shrewd quickly learns Slash, and dominates everything with it. Shrewd will also evolve very soon. (Level 22)
*Shrewd evolves into a Sandslash.
*I catch a Clefairy to trade for Mr. Mime later.
*I do everything there is to do in Cerulean, including the gym.
*I enter the SS Anne, and defeat all of the trainers.
*Defeated Surge with ease.
*Went through Diglett's Cave, and got to the other side to trade for Mr. Mime, which was already nicknamed 'Miles'. Oh well. Now to grind.
*Psycho evolves into a Golduck.
*I go through Rock Tunnel to arrive in Lavender Town.
*I go to Celadon City, where I fight Erika. She is defeated.
*Before entering the Game Corner where Rockets await, I give the guard a drink so that I have access to Saffron City, where I teach Psychic to Miles.
*I clear out the Game Corner, and head back to Lavender Town. My Pokemon are already in their 40's.
*I save Mr. Fuji, and head back to Celadon, where I KO Snorlax. I go through Cycling Road.
*I arrive in Fuchsia City, and easily defeat Koga with Miles' Psychic.
*Went into the Safari Zone and obtained both Surf and the Gold Teeth, so I could get Strength.
*I clear out Sliph Co., and defeat Sabrina. On to Cinnabar!
*Defeated Blaine, saved inside of Viridian's Gym.

Team:

Psycho (Golduck) Lv. 49

Shrewd (Sandslash) Lv. 52

Miles (Mr. Mime) Lv. 49

Give it a go with Swalot, Metagross, Whiscash and Shiftry, plus two slaves of your choice (Tropius and Pelipper?). I've added you and InfernoRogue to the Challengers list, so enjoy!
