I don't understand your first question... You mean when you download brushes you don't have them? If that's the case, get your brushes where ever it is, copy it, go to my computer, local disk C, program files, Adobe, Photoshop (whatever version), presets, brushes, then paste it there.

As for the second question, look at your tools. Do you see something that looks like a wand? Well use that, click on the part you don't want, then press delete. And there you go! =)

For brushes right click and at the box on the top left corner there is a triangle click that then go to load brushes, choose your bush and click ok

as for the rendering use the magic eraser which can be found by right clicking on the eraser tool.

Hey!

I dont know if this is the right place to post this, but some people have been talking about something called "Topaz". Yoom-tah said something about him getting IGN screenshots and still being able to retain their quality. What is this?

I have CS3. I am having trouble saving the image and preserving the image's transparency. If I save it, the transparency goes to white. I have tried to save it in .gif format. I am finished with the banner and trying to save it in a format that will allow me to upload it to photobucket.

EDIT: I need to correct myself.

The picture starts form the left as transparent and fades to white the further you go to the right. when I save it. half of the picture is white and half is transparent.
I really need a new signature.

Hmmm I'm trying to understand what you are saying and this is the best concept I can think of. Make a brand new file, and make sure the "Background" layer is spot clean, in other words, don't do anything to it. So do all of your stuff on another layer or more, yada yada yada, and then when you are completely finished, go to your background layer. You see the icon that looks like an eye? Click on that, and then you realize it's transparent, save it as .png preferably, and there you go! It's transparent! And it should work with gradients as you described it. ^^;

Following up Hazuki when you make the new file make sure the backrground setting is on transperent and on the "background" layer if there is a little lock on that make sure you right click on it and click "layer from background and try to save it as a png. as well.

Oh your problem is simply in the file format. GIF files do not support transitioned transparencies. If you want to have something fade into transparency, save it as a PNG file. As long as you aren't trying to animate anything, you'll get the fading effect you want spot on. My sig is transparent at the top, and the anti-aliased borders were only possible with the PNG format.

WTF. I was just working on a banner, when I went to add some brushes. Only, every single one of my brushes, downloaded sparatically throughout the past year and a half, has fricken dissappeared. Poof. Gone. I checked my desktop to find out if I still had them, and they're just... gone. I don't know what could have happened. Is there some kind of "photoshop brush capacity" or something of the sort? Last time I used photoshop was Sunday, where I downloaded a good thirty new brushes.

It's been long but we can do it; let's make this our dream

Look to tomorrow because it's all we have. Turn up the music until the walls shake. What do we have?
Is it hope? Love? Is it nothing at all? We won't know at all until we make something of what we feel.
When that happens, we'll find the truth. We'll find what we want. And we will find ourselves, finally.

I-I'm not sure. Something similar has happened to me, only it wasn't that many brushes that disappeared. It was only the ones that I downloaded in the past day or so. >>;

And even if there was some Brush Capacity, it wouldn't go around deleting all your brushes. Maybe it won't allow you to download more, but definitely not delete them.

Maybe try saving your brushes next time or something. But... that's really weird. O_o

This has happened to me probably ten times. I don't have many brushes so I usually just reload everything (I keep everything in a folder). Then one day, I was in a rush and didn't bother reloading my brushes and just closed PS. Then like two days later I opened the program and all my brushes were there O_o.

Woo, I might be getting Photoshop finally. As you all are probably aware, it's ridiculously expensive. So here's what I'd like to know: is CS4 worth it? I can get CS3 for maybe $50~$100 cheaper, but since CS4 is the newest version I've been leaning towards getting it. Can anyone tell me if it has anything really groundbreaking that would put it way over CS3 in terms of functionality and whatnot, or is it basically just a minor upgrade?

Hopefully he didn't rasterize it.

Draw a curve with the pentool and use the type tool, the cursor should have a dotted line through it.

Would've been better to pm the person who created it. xD;
Or you could just use the 'warp text tool', usually located at the top of your screen when the Text Tool is selected.
