I eat just the same as I did before. It really doesn't make that much of a difference.
The real question is, does it taste like metal when you're not eating? That would be cool because I like the taste of metal, I would get a piercing myself just for that perk...... :o

I'm really not a fan of piercings and tattoos and I think a lot of people do it to fit in or be cool. I know my boyfriend did it to be cool (siiigh) he got his eyebrow done and snake bites on his bottom lip.
Then we started going out (my hate for piercings wont stop me from getting to know someone) and one day he just took them out and said that he wish he didn't get them.

I guess at least piercings are removable so I don't have as much of an issue with those, but tats... they stay with you forever... will stretch as you grow old and also fade. Sometimes people are silly and get a tat they dont' like when they're older then they're either stuck with it or get it removed but are left with the laser outline of it that looks like a rash.

Anyway, I just think mutilating your body for fashion is not smart.

Agreed. Couldn't have said it better myself. I'll stick to clothes thanks.

I'm against 'em. I just don't think it's a good idea. My cousin got one in the bridge of her nose, and I can't see anyone taking her seriously in nice dress. Another cousin got a tongue piercing, and it's beginning to wreak havoc with his teeth. The guy still insists on wearing it.

I've always thought standard ear piercings were sort of weird, too.

Agreed, except replace smart with attractive. Uh... yeah. Don't really have much more to say about that.

Im not surprised about all the hating on here about this either.
I personally have snakebites, my tongue and both earlobes which Im in the process of stretching.
I also have one tattoo on my wrist in memory of my grandmother that died.
More tattoos are in the works and currently being designed. My major piece of which will be a full sleeve.

I love body art. If its done properly and professionally then it can look really good and really really attractive.

Always hated both. I think tattoos and piercings (besides the standard earlobe one) are ugly and probably the most un-classy thing you could do to your body.

I judge...alot, and I shouldn't, but tattoos and piercings to me are disgusting. I have friends who have both...but I think they looks awful. Sorry!^^
It's fine, everyone is entitled to their own opinion just as I am. I think they look hot and you don't.

At first it does, but you don't really notice it after you get used to having it in all of the time.

What I can't understand is how you could stand getting a tattoo. The stab you with a needle over and over! Plus, there's no way to ensure that the artist is skilled.

The tattoo needle doesn't hurt at all.
All it is, is a dull, irritating sort of feeling. It goes away entirely after a while though.
Depends how long your session with the artist is.
Word of mouth and portfolios can help with deciding how good an artist is.

You should be more worried about infections and stuff with piercing though, some piercers are really not very skilled and don't always really know what they are doing.

Also, I never got the metal taste with my tongue bar. Weird.

I'm familiar with some of the gang tattoo artists in the area, and they know what they're doing. I just don't like needles, or the way tattoos look.

I got my tongue and lip pierced at the mall, so I wasn't really worried.

Mine's a tongue stud, and it hardly had a taste. Like I said before, it's something you get used to.

eh 'sall up to personal preference. i actually see the appeal of certain piercings/tattoos on certain people, and some people overdo it which might not always be attractive but it's not something that bothers me to see. i probably won't get any facial piercings myself even though i've been told i could pull it off. i've seen some really gorgeous, elaborate tattoos, but i'll just enjoy observing those tattoos on other people, i don't see myself paying a ridiculous amount of money for a kEwL design permanently inked into my body :S
I have to agree with you. I think some people look really good with piercings/tattoos. On certain people, those people being girls, I think piercings are sexy. I'm not talking about those girls who have their ears, lip, nose, tongue, eyebrows, cheeks, and chins pierced. I'm talking about just a nice ear piercing, or one, somewhat tiny, lip ring. Despite the fact that lots of people have piercings only some can really pull them off. As for tattoos, I think some of them look really cool. People have different reasons for getting them. Whether it be being drunk and accidentally getting one, getting one in memory of someone, just wanting one for the heck of it, or being addicted to the "pleasure-pain" some people supposedly feel when getting one. If you're tattoo hangs down because you got it on flab, its not okay. If you're face looks like Optimus Prime's because there is so much metal on it, its not okay.

Don't get me wrong, I absolutely love piercings in good taste. The ears are a prime example of that for both men and women. For women, I think a belly button piercing can be cute, if she's willing to go to that trouble.

What I hate is people who think "Ink is trashy". It is not trashy, it's been a tradition for thousands of years. People get tattooed for many reasons. Still, I do agree there are some occasional cases where it actually is inappropriate. Primarily anything that you can't easily conceal with clothing is a risk. So called 'Tramp Stamps' are not trashy unless they're exposed for all to see. Seriously ladies, keep your body tattoos for yourself, for your lovers and bedmates eyes only...if you want a visible tattoo, it's much more fashionable and cute to get one on your arms/legs/wrist/ankles.

I don't mind tatoos. I've seen some small, nice ones in memory of one thing or another, and if they're just on the arm or something then why not =) It the huge things people get to cover their torsos I don't get.

And I never did get piercings. I still don't to be honest. Just... why?

Just because some people find it unattractive, doesn't mean everyone does. They might personally LOVE that look. Piercings are another way to adorn the human body.. it's the same as clothes, jewlery, or even a haircut.

If they want to have piercings on their face, it's not really a matter of why, it's just a matter at looking at each person's individual tastes in what they deem to be attractive.
You might find it ugly, but they're not doing it to attract you. Other people might think it's sexy, so they're the ones those girls are gonna hook up with.

And risks? What risks? Infection? Just take out the peircing and let the skin heal itself. It's not a big deal.

Personally I just don't think it looks great on anyone, it somehow makes them look kind of rather odd looking(on the face that is), however I really don't mind piercings on the ears, they don't look that bad besides the big hoop earrings, then again it's just my opinion, I've never liked it and that's just that I suppose.

The bridge nose piercings are quite easy to flip up and hide if you were ever in a situation that dictated it.

Metal tongue rings destroy teeth, it's a known fact, which is why mainly individuals with tongue piercing choose to go the more expensive route and use plastic balls that need replacing every few months.

And risks? What risks? Infection? Just take out the peircing and let the skin heal itself. It's not a big deal.
Adding to this, if you're not a moron and know how to properly take care of and keep your piercing clean, the chance of it getting infected is quite small.

Not true. The metal bar just gets blamed. If it's a proper size bar for your tongue then it need never go anywhere near your teeth, let alone destroy them.
The only people I've ever known to have destroyed teeth and a tongue bar are those with a very poor diet and even poorer overall health. Both of those things destroy teeth. Not piercings.

That's what keeps people from getting their tongues pierced and whatnot. They think it will destroy your teeth, when in reality, it's almost never the cause.

When anything is taken care of properly, you shouldn't have to worry about it. This applies to tattoos and piercings. If you have the sense to clean it, your risk of infection is pretty much zero (or at least significantly less than what it would be otherwise).

That's not that bad, there is worse pain out there, and it probably hurts more to give yourself a tattoo the ghetto method (Which I've done, lol), since it's slower. Plus it kind of goes numb after a bit.

And about how to tell if the artist is skilled, I think almost all tattoo artists keep some kind of portfolio or something that shows all of their work. I was going to go with my sister on her birthday so we can both get tattoos, but that got delayed and now I'm thinking I'm going to wait a while longer, as I would rather spend my money on pre-ordering Pokemon White. :P

And another thing, I can never understand why people always say that tattoos will look terrible when you're older. Yes, they do start looking bad, WHEN YOU'RE SO OLD YOUR SKIN STARTS SAGGING. >_<

Seriously, if you're skin is sagging and you're a gross old person, it doesn't matter if your tattoo(s) is/are unattractive, as nobody will really want to see some gross old person's body in the first place. >_<

Surgical steel is a safe way to go. (My tongue stud is s. steel, but I have no clue what the snakebites are made of)

Silver would be kind of expensive...

EDIT;; I knew that, SIN. I totally knew that actually I did not get it.

I have heard, and I am not sure how true this is but if you get piercings in certain places for instance ear cartilage or nose cartilage and it gets infected there is a very good chance that you'll have to remove that part of the body. Cartilage cannot heal itself very well.

Also another risk is it being torn out, imagine a nipple ring getting caught on clothes and being torn out!! ewwwwww

Also anyone remember that movie where the girls tongue ring got hooked onto the guys... ahem....ring? Thats a hideous and embarrassing risk hahaha
