Since most games nowadays have a real-time feature, I'd assume that whenever you save your game and turn it off, your character is sleeping, eating, urinating, or defecating only to finish up and return to the same exact same spot when you turn your game back on. XD
I thought Gold/Silver was the only games to have a time feature. R/S and D/P have a time feature as well but isn't as big a part in them as in G/S.

According to Anime Dragonite is the fastest flying pokemon (ep.: Hello Pummelo!), but according to pokedex it's Shedinja which apperantly doesn't have wings to sustain flight! It has small wings that are attached to it's body and they cannot be moved!

Mega punch and mega kick give the impression of fighting but are actually normal type moves.

Wooper can learn ice punch but has no arms.

The first legendary Ash sees in Kanto was Ho-oh who was a Johto pokemon.

Vulpix's tail actually starts off as one tail and splits into several tails as it gets older.

Lugia is the guardian of the sea, but isn't a water type.

Every Professor's is named after a type of tree. Oak tree, Birch tree etc.

HitmonLEE and HitmonCHAN get their names from the the famous Martial Art icons Bruce Lee and Jackie Chan, and the fighting gym leader Chuck could relate to Chuck Norris.

Whitney's Gym is in the shape of a Clefairy.

So maybe Dragonite is just the fastest winged pokemon. :)

Many people mistaken Moltres as a phoenix pokemon rather than Ho-oh because of it's flaming body, just like the mythical phoenix.

Genosekuto is the first legendary pokemon that is a Bug type

In pokemon R/S/E, Winona has an Altaria that's lvl.33 when swablu doesn't evolve to Altaria until lvl 35

The reason why that theres a "Bug type" is because Satoshi tariji (creator of pokemon) collected bugs when he was younger.

And actually, since it doesn't really show your character the whole time you're battling, he/she could be doing that stuff at the same time. :P

In pokemon red and blue, Lickitung could not learn lick.

All the playable trainers in the games wear head ware(hat/bandanna).

Flareon only learns one Fire Type physical move, and it is a physical fire attacker so it is rather useless.
That Lickitung info is embarrassing. I mean, I usually get annoyed when PokeDex entries are not referenced in movepools (i.e., Ampharos not getting the move Tail Glow as of Generation V, despite every freaking PokeDex entry mentioning that its tail glows. Even RSE notes that the glow from Ampharos's tail can be seen FROM SPACE!! :cer_pissed:), but that is just odd. "Licking" seems to be one of the primary functions of the tongue, Lickitung's most prominent physical feature... Even Jynx, a non-Ghost type (Ghost is the move's type), was able to learn Lick in Generation I! Glad Lickitung can learn Lick now, though! :)

The RSE male hero's white head thing is a headband, not his real hair.

Took me two years to figure out.
It. Is. HIS. HAIR! DON'T CONFUSE ME!!! :rambo:
(I mean, that would be the weirdest headgear accessory ever if it was a hat/headband...)

Many people mistaken Moltres as a phoenix pokemon rather than Ho-oh because of it's flaming body, just like the mythical phoenix.
But...Moltres is a phoenix... Or at least, that's what her PokeDex entry implies, IMO... :\

Moltres is a legendary bird Pokémon that has the ability to control fire. If this Pokémon is injured, it is said to dip its body in the molten magma of a volcano to burn and heal itself.

----------------------------------------

Gyarados is based on a dragon, but isn't Dragon-typed. Likely because they wanted to keep the Dragon type exclusive to Dratini's family in the first generation.
In regard to Gyarados's typing, this legend comes to mind...

Tyranitar's Dark/Rock combination would seem to be a balance issue, too. He's got a lot of halved weaknesses and has a lot of supereffective weaknesses, too, to balance it out.

RE: Gyarados:

I'm sure someone has said this before, but I believe that Magikarp and Gyarados are referencing an old Chinese myth.

There is a Chinese myth that involves the transformation of a Carp into a Dragon as it manages to jump over Dragon's Gate where no other Carp (depending on the variation of the tale) was able to.

Since this is a fish-transformed-into-a-dragon Dragon rather than a born-Dragon (Chinese mythology makes a distinction between the two and all Dragons are related to the Water as they control the waters), it makes sense that Gyarados would retain its 'fishy' past as a Magikarp in retaining its Water type with the addition of a Flying type since it literally 'flew' over the Dragon's Gate and thus became a 'Dragon' and is thus able to learn Dragon moves.
LOL

Nothing to be sorry about! :)

Well, the way I see it is this (and this is just an opinion):

If they were going by the myth, then leaving Gyarados as a Water/Flying but still giving him solid Dragon moves would better fit in to the myth of a Carp-turned-Dragon as Gyarados is a Magikarp fish (pure Water type) who became a Dragon (with the help of Flying to get over the proverbial Dragon's Gate) and not a Dragon-born Dragon who started out as a Dragon.

If Gyarados' type became Dragon or Dragon/Water, then there is almost an assumption that Gyarados' previous unevolved form was also a Dragon.

Unlike something like Flying which can be added on as long as someone grew wings (like Dragonite who became +Flying after only being a Dragon), it is more unlikely that something can go from being one creature type (like a Dragon) to another (like a Bug).

Seeing Gyarados looking undeniably like a Dragon and then seeing the Water/Flying says that, 'Here is a Dragon who wasn't born a Dragon but became a Dragon through perseverence'.

Same thing with Charizard. Seeing him looking Dragon-like but seeing him being Fire and Flying seems to suggest that, 'Here is a Dragon who wasn't born a Dragon but became a Dragon through perseverence'.

Just my two cents. :)

Maybe it had to get a battle license to be able to use it in battle..... :cheeky:

It kind of has to do with pokemon, though not the pokemon themselves..... Somehow you can fit a giant freakin Groudon into a pokeball, but you still have to teach your pokemon surf and fly because you can't put a boat or a plane in some kind of pokeball-like capsule. >_<

:cer_laugh: LOL at the 'battle license' theory! Maybe Ampharos will earn it in a few years once Gen VI rolls out...

As for the PokeBall thing...I remember reading a theory that said the capturing ability of a PokeBall depends on the cuteness of what it is capturing. Take Grimer for example. Since Grimer :t088: (the Sludge Pokemon) is (supposedly) cuter than an actual pile of sludge, it can be captured by a PokeBall and converted into compacted energy. So since a red land dinosaur is 'cuter' than a regular old boat or plane, it can be captured while those vehicles cannot... *sigh* I hope the Pokemon universe can eventually straighten itself out.

But the 'moveset-not-matching-PokeDex entry-implications' thing is really irritating. With almost every Pokemon, on Bulbapedia there's some sort of trivia saying "Despite [Pokemon]'s PokeDex entry stating that it [certain action/feature], [Pokemon] cannot learn [move that resembles said action/feature]." Annoys me to no end. Could the PokeDex and moveset teams collaborate to fix those nuisances, at least. Otherwise, it almost seems like every Pokemon has a typo in its PokeDex entry... :(
