Most Normal-type Pokémon are either pure Normal or Normal/Flying. In the first-generation games, this rule was universal; in generations two and three, Girafarig (Normal/Psychic) was the only exception; the fourth generation added Bibarel (Normal/Water) and the fifth added the deer Pokémon #585 Shikijika and #586 Mebukijika (Normal/Grass) and the event legendary #648 Meroetta (Normal/Psychic in its Voice Forme, Normal/Fighting in its Step Forme). As you can see, Normal is also universally Type 1 rather than Type 2. This makes Normal by far the least-combined type, with only five combinations to its name; all other types have at least nine different combinations as of the fifth generation, meaning they've been combined with at least half of the other types in addition to standing alone.
