Lol, Its about time I made something like this. X3 Its plenty overdue.
And About the japanese Title- whenever I get really excited and energetic like I am now, I get stuck in japanese mode. Plus, its good to be a little different now and then. :3

But don't let the kana fool you, I'm not fluent at all, and I'm a completely white/ weeaboo/ American otaku. I can't read a Japanese Newspaper, but I can find my way around Japan thanks to a few classes I've taken in High school and now in college.

In fact, my fascination with Japan started when pokemon first came into America in Red and Blue on that hunk of grey box that was the Game Boy. I was a tad young- a few years under ten, and it was the first game I've ever 'beaten'. Well beaten as in the Elite 4-5. And for time reference sake- I'll be 20yrs old in two days. And then when the cartoon came out I dedicated myself to the first season franchise. Since those early gen 1 years, I have technically bought every pokemon game and spin-off out there since. The cards, not so much, they couldn't hold my short attention span for long and they always were treated with much scorn in those early years by the christian religion. Magic: The Gathering was treated like that too.

My favorite gen, is second gen, but my all time Favorite pokemon is the 1st Gen Dewgong. It specifically was the one in Blue Version that you in-game traded as a Seel in Cinnabar.
As for my fave types- I'mma ice /ghost type, flying comes in third. And believe me I was shell shocked that those two actually became a type set as Frosslass in the 4th gen. And it was a yuki-onna at that!

The only things I don't like pokemon for- a) being such a damn expensive habit and b) being so addicting that I am now extremely nearsighted from years playing at night with a flashlight. The SP advance didn't help much either. XD I knew then and know now its always my choice and my fault for this- but it makes me wonder if i'd have perfect vision if I never got addicted. lol

Gawd ^^;;; I didn't mean to write my life story- I guess that how you can tell how excited I am

So anyway- どうぞよろしくおねがいします。

Don't worry. You'll fit in just fine here. I can read kana too, but am no where near speaking/understand the language.

And... OHGWOGHUIRGJSRL Dewgong is my favorite too! Next to Quilava.... well, it's a tough choice for me. lol

As long as it's not all "OMFG かわいいですね~~~!" all the time, it should be fine, haha. Japanese is a cool language.

At any rate, welcome to PC, ah! I study Jap too sort of at school but it's slow as. ;-;
Everything ends,
and that's always sad.
But everything begins again, too,
and that's always happy.

The most awesome title. EVER.
Well, anyways, welcome to PC ! ^_^ And if you ever decide to use Japanese on PC again, remember to put up a translation, for people like me, who know nothing about it. u_n
Well, okay. I'm here just to chat with people. Don't really care about signatures and stuff.

サイックッスさんの日本語はいいですよ! どの位から勉強しましたか。
Your Japanese is good! For how long have you studied?

Ooooh I hope that was correct. :x I'm starting to forget a lot of particles and such, but I've been studying for a little while as well. I'm actually minoring in Japanese, but I'm between classes this semester so I'm falling out of practice. ;; Still, I hope you keep at it! More people to practice with!

Haha, great to see a new member hailing from the good ol' days. Not so great to know that this particular member is a few weeks older than me. Pffffft. Even so, I'm sure you'll have a blast here. Most of us oldies like to sit back and watch the new kids enjoy their Nintendo events while we reminisce about trying to move that freakin' truck back in our days... not that we're not at the events too, but I digress. D;

じゃああ。。。 PCにようこそ!

Compared to many of the other active members here, I'm not as affluent in Japanese. My usertitle is nothing more than a rough transliteration of my username and only exists to poke fun at the gratuitous Japanese bandwagon going around. XD

Anyways, welcome to our little community. Feel free to ask anyone of the moderators or other experienced members if you need help navigating the place, and above all, have some fun. :D

...You're going to do what to my what?!

I'm just pulling your leg. Welcome to Pokecommunity! I was totally there playing Red and Blue when they were released. (Given, if you were 10 I was probably 3-5 years younger. I can't even remember.) Good times |D

For me, it wasn't Pokemon that piqued my interest in Japanese, but it was when I began to branch out into anime other than the Saturday morning ones. Since then, through watching a lot of various anime series in subtitled form, I've picked up a few Japanese words, but nothing that I can have a fluent conversation with, at least not yet.

And I've been a Pokemon fan since the days of Red/Blue as well... back when I was a young chap at age 73 (j/k, that ain't my real age, lol). My brother picked up Red, and once I saved up the money I got Blue because Meowth was exclusive to that version and I like my kitties :)

And happy early birthday! Mine's in less than a week. And welcome to PC, where we have lots of topics available to discuss, some of them related to Pokemon and some of them not! Please feel free to look around and see what we have here!
