heeeeeeyy!! Devil's here! i was wondering what you people "are", like what make you who you are. For example skaters, rockers (the ones that are loyal and listen to rock, not pop, ROCK), metalhead (people that listen to extremely heavy metal, meaning real metal), emo, otaku, etc ec

As for me, I'm a rocker. I've been listening to rock since i was 9, i play the guitar, know a lot about it (im not going to say all because no one can know it all), and its my passion, what really defines me.

I'm somewhere between a rocker and a popper because I listen to those kinds of music most of the time. I'm also a tiny bit of a nerd/geek because I look the part (I wear glasses) and spend most of my time near a computer/device.

Only comformists use those labels....

:P

But yeah, I don't think I really fit into any of those, I'm kind of weird and I like a lot of things. :S

And why do people define themselves by what music they listen to? Seriously? I listen to almost nothing but Techno stuff, Tatu, and underground Hip-Hop, what does that make me? >_<

I'm your usual All rounder. I'm one of those people who can fit into most categories. I'm kinda Jock-Musician-Nerd-Geek-Skater-Drama-Shy Kid Mix.

I play an endless amount of sports but I can also play several instruments. I'm a video gaming Nerd and an IT Geek (Just not the type of Geek who covers maths/science like subjects. I Skate whenever I have time which brings out my boyish personality. I can be Shy but after learning Drama I kinda switch between.

I'm your general average student who has no problem hanging out with anyone

Definitely an otaku. In high school I was the one who got great grades yet was somehow still popular. The grades have since taken a nosedive, but I'm still popular. I guess musically I fit into the "80's pop love song" category, if that has a specific name :P

Well i don't really know what i am atm. I kinda fit into a lot of things:
Geek: Spend most of my time and money on computers.
Otaku: I've been reading up into a lot of manga (most Pokemon based :P) and stuff lately.
Emo: Been really emotionally unstable lately, surprised anybody talks to me anymore. The way my mood swings they've been treated like **** :0
The music i listen to doesn't really define me as i listen to pretty much anything. It's mostly old though. Like geekrock and old 90's kiddie pop music XD

Really, I don't have a clue what label I am. I don't think labels matter, I'd like to define myself as a unique individual. I'm guessing though that I'm the nerd/geek person as I seem to spend most of my time on computers and saving money towards some sort of cashy new object. I even have those spots all over the face too which makes it evident, but I'm no A student, more B... But, I'm that shy one too? I do tend to shy away from a typical large crowd or people in general but, I think that could be part arrogance when it comes to that after all, I think those who make the effort to come to me and want to get to know me, not to put me down, will be the only people know my person fully. I suppose it could be called playing safe.

I think though my biggest label for me is a tomboy as I do have a boy-like attitude when it comes to offline life and my friends and most of my family agree with this. I though do have an ever so slight feminine side which I never show very often; online I show this more often. I really have been more "in touch with my male side" as my friend puts it since childhood when I was younger and copying my dad's style of clothing every so often, but I did wear dresses to show I was still female now though, I refuse point blank. I'm a big sports fan too, though I don't play them often with not having the people who want to play with me any more around but, if I do get the occasion I do play sports and now, after a period of wanting to be more female, like Physical Education like I used to. Maybe one day I will pay attention to the television enough to watch sports and indulge myself into one that way instead.

Labels are far too extreme. I always thought they only applied to someone who had an obsession with something; like nerds are obsessed with Star Wars or D&D or something similar, otakus are obsessed with anime, etc. I watch some anime, and I like quite a few things that would be seen as nerdy, but so do a lot of people, and I don't have any obsessions so no label can really be applied to me.

And I agree with SIN1488's post.

I don't usually label myself, but IRL and Online I would be an Otaku and mainly offline I can be a little nerd at times..

I don't necessarily like to label myself at all, I am just 'me'(myself) and that's it, but I can sometimes be called somewhat of a nerd or know it all, since I fix up every electronic practically in the house, I'm just an all around handy man if you ask me. I can sometimes appreciate the comments after doing something good.

Despite dressing simply and telling lots of dirty jokes, I'm quite elegant. I'm literate (I write, type, and text as properly as I can), I know how to dance (proper dancing, not that crap that people pass for dancing), and I can reference art, literature, and theater in casual conversation.

I'm, simply put, far too weird and unique to be labeled. All I can objectively say is that I'm 23 years old, nonreligious theist, asexual, asocial, biracial Hispanic/Caucasian, Texan, I value my family far more than what few friends I have, I enjoy the Internet far too much, and the biggest value that my parents instilled in me is the willingness to get along with everybody even if we disagree.

I'm not normally the one to follow labels. I believe you are who you are; you don't need a label to identify yourself. Even if you do label yourself, who's to say you are that one type of person? We're all made up of different interests that make us who we are. In high school, it may be easier to label yourself by who you hang out with (i.e. Jocks, Preps, Goths, Skaters, Band Geeks, etc), but even then, one can be in more that one category.

I guess you can say I don't believe in labels. To be honest, if I had to label myself, I don't think I could. There's too many things I do both online and offline that it's hard to choose one specific label for myself.

Well, I think I'd generally be a geek, sort of a rocker or maybe a math wiz.

Right, I think I'd be a Geek and a Math Wiz. I swear I'm probably the only Mexican Math Wiz in my school. Because everyone else who's at or above my level is Asian or Indian o_0'

People are individuals, labels don't work etc. etc.

Hypothetically if I was labelled I'd probably be put into the muso category. Playing and writing music is my main passion in life (and listening to it, of course). I'm not really much of a nerd but I'm a closet Pokémon fan, so that speaks for itself, and I'm not like "ew, videogames", even though I don't play videogames much I don't condemn them or anything, so I suppose there's a little bit of nerdiness there? I'm not religious so goth/devil-worship is out of the question. I'm not emo, I don't feel like I'm "deeper" than anybody else (there's no way of knowing) and I don't need pity from other people to function. I'm not a jock. Although I do a bit of surfing and I'm playing footy next year, sport doesn't define me.
