Simple question, do you rather Facebook then Twitter, or Twitter then Facebook? Or maybe your like me and use them both. Though I've begun to prefer Twitter over Facebook, Facebook has become overpopulated since it's start and now seems to keep being updated to suite the trends of those new roll of Teenagers coming in to flood the system. I use to like it's simplicity; post a status, upload a picture, comment etc, but now they seem to be trying to jam pack everything into one system. Whereas Twitter on the other hand has kept it's simplicity and easy to use system during it's updates. Post a status, someone can reply to it, upload a picture and people can look at it or comment about it, plus that lovely feature called retweet. But I guess everyone has their own opinions, what do you guys reckon?

Facebook, Twitter, or both?

I use twitter the most, I've been treating Facebook like a neglected child lately.

I find most people on my Facebook update their status with a load of nonsense most of the time. Twitter's similar I suppose, but I use my twitter for game orientated chat/news/updates.

I use both. Twitter I use that for my personal use for my website, so other sites can contact mine and find out new updates and Facebook is for my online friends, offline friends and my family.

Neither. I have a personal vendetta against Facebook and I just don't find Twitter interesting. *Shrugs*

I have both a Facebook and a Twitter account. The latter I prefer to keep public since I update it a lot more frequently and it has less potentially dangerous information about me. As for preference, I don't really like to compare both in the first place. Although they are both social networking tools, they both do their jobs in unique ways that work well and, in my opinion, shouldn't be compared.

I hate Twitter. I see absolutely no point in it and how it ever got to where it is today is totally beyond me.

Facebook, on the other hand, is pretty nice. It's great for keeping up with friends you don't get to see often. The only thing I dislike is how people will request to be your friend just because you went to school together or because you said hello to them at a party. Facebook is for friends and family, not for "hey, I hardly know you but I'm gonna add you just for the sake of it." But I can always reject them. :3

A friend made lj get a Facebook in senior year of high school. I just never got into it though. I sign on and find the interface convoluted and confusing. (It's gotten better over the years, despite what most users claim, but I still have ridiculous issues figuring the site out which is embarrassing for me as an internet junkie.) Factor in that I really dislike Facebook's privacy policies and whatnot and I just don't like the site. I keep my account but I only go on a few times a year.

But Twitter? I'm addicted. I hated it back when it started up and a friend convinced me to sign up, but now it's hardwired into me. :p I think in 140 characters. But seriously, I love it. Most of my friends--online and off--are there, so it's easy to keep in touch, and since it originally integrated so well with mobile phones and texting (before smartphones really took off), I was able to keep up with friends even when they had no internet, had no time for forums/MSN, etc. And when I finally got a decent phone, I was able to update on the go too. It helped me feel connected in the middle of nowhere or, in one case, kept me sane while waiting for somewhat emergency surgery. :'D

I've got a smartphone now with Twitter/Facebook integration so I assume it would be easy to figure out a simplified version of FB but I really just have no desire. To my understanding, FB updates have become more and more like tweets lately anyway and since all the people I'd really want to talk to are on Twitter anyway, there's little need for me to touch Facebook.
