Well, the only thing really is Ash's counterparts in the original games. But mark my words, there will be no video game based on the anime >__>
Pokemon Yellow's plot was similar to Ash's adventure in Kanto though.

Pokémon Yellow was made for a reason you know. That's essentially as close as that going to be. Also, the copyright stuff is a bunch of ********. If the animé can use game characters than the game can use animé characters if they wanted to.
well said. If the anime has used characters (like brock, misty, iris, and dento to name a few) then why must the game not be allowed to share from the anime?

Answer: Because if the anime does not borrow, they would not have any basis for anything. I think it is just right, but what Vernikova said, I think there is a truth behind it.

Red is Ash-ingame. No more need to incorporate him in the game, be it pre- or post- Elite 4. Just too redundant.

Ash is basically Reds counterpart anyway. They are kinda the same person. Although, considering, red hasn't been to places ash has. Maybe they could change Reds design to suite Ash in a new game.
There was nothing. Followed by everything. Swirling, burning specks of creation that circled life-giving suns. And then we reached to the light.

Games =/= anime. I would never wanna see Ash in the games cause hey, I don't even wanna see him in the anime. We already have "Ash" in GSC/HGSS. Red is as close to Ash as you'll get gamewise. I mean, that level 81 Pikachu has to be the biggest hint if anything.

This.

We already have one in-game character who doesn't have the common sense to evolve his Pikachu (Red, who even resembles Ash), why do we need another (very similar) character who doesn't have the common sense to evolve half his other Pokemon as well as the rodent?

Well said...well said...

Also, I'd just like to point out that your try at levels was good...but pointless.

By what they've achieved....Pikachu, Charizard and Sceptile are above lv.90, and the others are between lv.30 and 60 (Gible is pretty darn weak......others are strong, such as Bulbasaur, Snorlax, Quilava etc.)

Red's Pikachu holds a light ball though, so it has some use as a glass cannon as opposed to being a mediocre Raichu.

Ash's character was based on Red. The anime came after the games, and with the exception of Pokemon Yellow the two have remained separate. Even if Game Freak could make Ash a character in a Pokemon game, it would be unnecessary and cause inconsistencies.

At any rate, Ash is a pretty boring and generic character. I'd rather not have to run into him.

Well actually I don't consider Ash as a very good trainer, but I suppose Red could be considered as Ash, since Ash is based on him (exept that Red actually knows what he's doing...)!

All this talk of Ash sucking, people need to get a grip on reality (of this animated TV show).

The anime shows the Pokemon world in a more realistic light than the games. And if you want to say that the show isn't realistic (which is obvious), then your argument instantly fails when compared to the realism of the game.

Ash is considered a bad trainer? First of all, he's ten and will always be ten.

Second of all? He's a human in a world where creatures run the planet with enough strength to level or create continents.

The game shows you as a fearless human, roaming the massive region of (insert name) by yourself. You bare no need to go to relieve yourself, showers are unnecessary, and you can walk into anyone's house at anytime you want without them pressing charges.

You can catch a multitude of Pokemon and leave them in a box. Are they locked in a state of limbo? If not, then you're a cruel, cruel person.

No matter what your Pokemon go through, a quick * DUN DUN DUNDUN DAN!!* from the Pokemon center heals them all up. Whether they were hit by a fissure (ground opening up, making Pokemon fall into an abyss), ANY horn attack (being STABBED!?), and most Ghost attacks (Perish Song? Perish doesn't mean faint).

Do you people read the Pokedex? There is some f*cked up sh*t in there. Especially the majority of the Isshu region's Pokedex. Pokemon who have the mask of stolen souls? Pokemon that drag you into the underworld? Wtf? And you can catch a control the Gods of the planet? The God of the Pokemon world will seriously listen to everything you say when you catch it in a spherical apparatus?!!

And you say Ash is a terrible trainer! Listen, if the Pokemon world were real, the only way it could be as safe a world as it is is through the anime. People don't OFTEN catch legendary Pokemon. Pokemon are hurt bad enough to be put in the emergency room. I mean, let's be serious, Onix should be the strongest-damned Pokemon out there, simply because falling on you is death. Onix using slam on Caterpie? What?

In the anime, Pokemon also learn more than four attacks. You also can't fly on Pidgy or surf on Linoon. Not to mention there are no stats in the show you can look at anytime you want. You never hear people on the anime comparing Levels, EV's, stats, etc.

Because they don't exist. That whole thing on one of the earlier episodes of 'what level does pidgy blah blah' was just full of inconsistencies.

What?

Ash is doing a decent job. Should've kept Charizard though.

Edit: tl;dr. Wtf did I just do.

It wouldn't be a very good idea, since, like everyone else said, Red is already a part of the games. I really don't see a point in putting Ash in a game anyway. I know that if I played a game that involved actually interacting with Ash in a region, it would really ruin it for me, or at least quite a bit.
Red, however, is a completely different story.

It tosses its enemies around with agility. It uses all its limbs to fight in its own unique style.

- Do you know for a fact he will ALWAYS be ten? If the writers want to change his age just like if they want him to win a league they very well can. Not to say that will be the case, but most stuff is not absolute. People watching the first two regions may think Brock and Misty would continue travel with Ash through out all the regions, but did they?

- Yes some pokemon have the power to level and create continents. But how many times does Ash really face a pokemon of that magnitude? People say he sucks because he constantly loses to Shooti or Paul. Heck just about anyone would lose the top tier legendary pokemon.

- Perish Song is a Normal Type move btw.

- To say people can't Fly on Pidgey or Surf on Linoone is incorrect. Just because we haven't seen it doesn't mean it couldn't happen. I believe in the Orange Islands there was an Island with giant pokemon whose to say somebody can't hitch a hide on a giant Pidgey or Linoone. If you haven't seen Rydon using Surf in the anime would you think it could, do to it being a Rock Type?

- If he kept Charizard then it would detract from the development of new pokemon. Charizard had it's time to shine now it's time for others to have the spot light. If I recall correctly Ash was pretty adamant upon starting his journey in Hoenn that he wanted to start anew so taking Charizard would be the opposite of his wishes.

1. The whole ten thing was just to point out that I've been watching Pokemon since I was about 9 and I'm going to be 19. And he hasn't aged yet.

2. That was just an example. Gyrados can still destroy cities with Hyper Beam, metronome can be ten times as dangerous, and explosion? C'mon, and these aren't even 'legendary' attacks.

3. Doesn't detract from the word Perish.

4. But we're not talking about giant Pokemon... and what do you mean? Of course Rhydon can't use surf. It's a rock type so it can't use the attack, it's weak to water, and it would sink instantly.

5. So what about Pikachu?

- No we are talking about pokemon in general. The point is even if you haven't seen the pokemon use the move on screen does not mean it is not plausible. And episode 204 and the fact that you can teach it HM03 says other wise. As for the giant pokemon the only instances I can find at the moment are Gengar and Alakazam in the Ruins during the Kanto Saga, and Claydol during the Hoenn Saga.

EDIT: Okay found the episode. EP104 they features larger then normal pokemon which is what I was alluding too earlier.

- Maybe because of the fact that Pikachu is the companies mascot and they use it for various promotion purposes. Or the fact that it is Ash first pokemon.

Also is there such thing as an Legendary attack? No, unless the move is exclusive to an Legendary pokemon. To stay on topic which we all got the point of by now is that Red(the game and manga version of Ash) is used in the Video Games. Ash is for anime. At this point why would they incorporate Ash into the game? If they would have do that then it would have already been do some time ago.
