Soundtrack scores are one of my favourite genres for this reason. Stuff by Hans Zimmer, John Williams and a few others are very awesome. People tend to look them over in favour of the OSTs.
Zimmer and James Newton Howard are amazing composers. Ramin Djawadi is also another favorite of mine. XD I love their work, especially from Batman Begins and The Dark Knight.

I've listened to them, but as a poptard they never gained my interest that much. However, I will agree that they are an intriguing band though.

I think I'm starting to get into Dream Theater. Those guys are really good.

Spoiler:

Yes, the song is pretty long (it's progressive metal) but John Petrucci's solos alone make the song worth listening to. (b")b

Oh, well that's easy. Electronic music is the way to go. *enter subjective statement here* XD :P

I like all sorts of electronic sub-genres as well. The only thing I detest is Basshunter...

Oh god, I listened to a Basshunter song after you mentioned it. It is pretty horrible.

I know something worse though.

Sounds like that person wasn't even trying... Here are two of my more favourite types of electronic music:

Props to anyone who knows the genres.

The other song of Basshunter that I despise (that has no doubt been remixed 34ir4087807843 times is "now you're gone"...

THough I'd still recommend lesser known artists for electronic music because their stuff tends to be more diverse and cool and less poppish. The really popular electronic music has more pop because people tend to like rock/pop most.

I can't tell the difference between techno or house or dubstep etc, they're all the same to me ;-;

I don't mind it, especially if it suits the mood, but I do like a little variety and uniqueness to my music too.

I remember this funny song:

godney fans unite

After listening to the Dream Theater link, I have to admit I like this band. Not something I'd listen to very often, but good regardless.

Doesn't anyone listen to hardcore techno? :c
Yo. o/

I often have a hard time finding any single genre that I can call my favorite since a lot of my favorite songs tend to mix and match. Though, cuddlecore is pretty rad.

My favorite genre of music would be rock. My parents like rock, although they're fans of the 80's hair bands.
same! although, I'm a fan of 80's hairbands too. mainly motley crue though :) but my favorite bands are aerosmith, guns n' roses, motley crue, explosions in the sky, and rilo kiley.

I can listen to anything as long as I can hear the singer. so no death metal for me D: I also like instrumental and orchestras as well~

Amen sister. Have you listened to One of a Kind in the Bayonetta soundtrack? The choir is amazing!

I don't mind death metal. The furious headbanging metal and the screaming I can barely understand is a great stress reliever, just like most of the heavier genres of metal. :D /yeah I'm weird like that. Spheal with it.
