No not really. Was #100 Voltorb special or was #500 Emboar special no. They might however make that the rodent of that generation like Pikachu or Pachirisu.

They could be special to the artist, or whoever created it.

In my opinion, #1000 seems like a huge milestone. It's the 1,000th Pokémon!

Maybe something unique will come out.
Just hope they won't be copying old pokemon to make this one.

I never understood "milestones". 1000 only looks round like that due to humans choosing a decimal system, mainly because we have ten fingers in our hands, and in much earlier times, when mathematics were not advanced, and one who knew the multiplication table would be considered a genius, that helped people do basic tasks. Should we have four fingers on each hand, chances are humanity would end up using an octal system, the same number would be written as "1750", and the roundness would be lost. Since Pokemon are different species, I don't think our amount of fingers should affect their kinds and looks. So not really, I believe the 1000th Pokemon should be as special as the 1284th, or the 852nd.

But your logic is flawed, because then the 10008th Pokemon can also be considered special.
I don't remember or know of any special Pokemon that have been placed on a notable number so I don't see why they would do anything special for the possible 1000th Pokemon. Plus the idea of a special Pokemon can be a little vague. What one person finds special in a Pokemon another person could pass off as stupid. It would have to be something monumental or never seen in Pokemon to be really special and considered genuinely special by a majority of people.

Which just proves my point about those numbers not being special at all, even though people might give them such "attributes" for no actual reason. As I said, the amount of fingers we have should not affect Pokemon. Having pointed that out, I do believe they still are going to make a big deal about it, since a lot of people will find it important.

In my experience, the creators of Pokémon never gave much care to the numbers signifying them. They focused more on the individual designs that made each and every one unique, not just utilizing numbers as a method of making any Pokémon unique.

You're partially right, the creators didn't care about the significance of a design on a certain number, but were more concerned about some number patterns concerning the pokedex (e.g the first 9 pokemon are the starters, and now we have a #0 as well).

I also do not see any big reason for the 1000th pkmn to be significant, simply because among other things, the creators are not trying to give values to these numbers. [Else we'd certainly also have a Hell pokemon on #666, a cool one on #1337 AND GUESS WHAT WOULD BE ON #9001]

I think that they make the Pokémon first, and come up with the numbers later. Thus, no particular creator will know that any particular Pokémon will have any particular number. That's all done at the end, when they throw the selected Pokémon into the Pokédex.

Though canonically, I think it would be special. I can picture Oak tallying up the new Pokémon the player/Ash has encountered, and saying "Well, I guess we need a new placeholder in the numbering system now."

I reckon they will end Pokemon shortly. Kids nowadays are more into really boring stupid stuff like fishing or animals as such.
I think they won't. Plus, B/W made a selling record, so that's another reason why they won't.

Anyways, I don't think the 1000st pokémon will be that special. As long as it's a nice Pokémon, I'm fine with it.
