Hey, that's what I was thinking!
It's interesting that you should bring this up, because I've recently become interested in trying to write a screenplay, and I think that an adaptation of Pokemon into a live-action movie kind of screenplay would be a great challenge/project for me this upcoming summer. In fact, I was going to start posting discussions on that topic in a few days so as to gather new ideas.
Now, to discuss this thread... I've always thought that a well-made live-action movie would be an incredible experience for Pokemon fans (it would have to take a lot of fans' preferences into consideration IMO), and I've sort of been praying for one since I was a kid. I know that a lot of people would be horrified at the thought of "butchering" Pokemon with live-action, but I firmly believe that, with the help and forethought of a million fanboys and girls, it would stand a chance of actually being an enjoyable, enriching, anti-dogfight (because let's face it, making a live-action Pokemon movie not look like it's promoting dogfights would be difficult) experience for the whole family! (Okay, maybe children over eight years of age, or something... but you get the picture)
