I'm gonna start this challenge in Pokemon Emerald. :) I'm just following the main two rules and nicknaming all my Pokemon (because apparently I find fun in emotionally torturing myself).
Picked Treecko as my starter, have just reached Vertandauf and caught a Poochyena (Paul), Wingull (Winona) and Lotad (Lance). I haven't suffered any casualties as of yet, hopefully that continues.
"Strong Pokemon. Weak Pokemon. That is only the selfish perception of people. Truly skilled trainers should try to win with their favourites." - Karen, Pokemon Gold, Silver and Crystal
This is my first post to the forum as a whole, but I picked up my old Pokemon Red cartridge and decided to play a Nuzlocke challenge. I could recount my whole game, but I just beat the game with 3 survivors, well 3 that mattered, right now I'm not counting the HM slaves and cannon fodder occupying my box right now. I finished the game with Chell, a Clefable, P-Body, a Charizard, and Atlas, a Cloyster. I got extremely lucky catching both the Clefairy in Mt. Moon (I didn't even know they were possible on the first floor there) and the Shellder by fishing off the side of Cinnabar (whether you count it from Cinnabar Island or Route 20 it was the first thing encountered).
I learned some powerful lessons such as using a Poison type (a Nidoqueen named GLaDOS for a good portion of my game until her untimely death in Koga's gym) against Poison types to avoid the Poison status. Or how a Rattata/Raticate can solo Brock AND Misty with enough Levels, Tail whips, and Hyperfangs. (My Raticate, named Dr.Ratman also met an untimely death in Koga's gym).
I can reaccount more of my travels later. Its easier than most run throughs due to the lack of catching many Pokemon and each death being pretty meaningful.
In the meantime I'm going to move on to Generation 2 probably without the Nuzlocke challenge. Its a pretty stressful experience to say the least. I liked the forced variance of my party, but I didn't like how I lost a lot of risk taking I'm use to in this game. It didn't help Generation 1 is a lot more difficult than I remember it. Maybe its because when i originally played R/B as a kid I couldn't go without using the item duplication cheat. Or I over rely on TMs to give my team full Type coverage and Gen 1's TMs are lacking to Gen 3, which I'm most use to.
- Battle style SET. - Pokemon Center MAX. usage per town TWICE. - No items - No more than 6 Pokemon at any time eg none in PC storage.

Log: Part 1 Pallet Town (It's kind of long) :D
Intro:
- So first thing that happens is some creepy Old Guy starts talking to me about going on some journey. It turns out that he is really a POKADOT Professor who goes by the name of Oak (who names there son ater a tree). So anyway it turns out that Prof. Willow studys the many diffrent colours and shapes of the POKADOTS and the mysteries surronding the POKADOTS. Apparently there are many things that we humans don't know yet about the POKADOTS. (you learn something new every day). The creepy "BASket"! then goes on to ask if i'm male or female (boy or girl for all you smarties) so I decided to tell him i was a blocke (BOY). Prof. Pine then asks my name; - i'm now starting to worry im only 10 and some radom old guy named after a tree wants to know everything about me - naively I tell him my names Nuzlock (couldnt fit the "e") :(. Prof. Elder then asks me to tell him his grandson's name. wtf? Who doesn't even know there own grandsons' name and more importantly how the hell am I supposed to know. So i just go with my favourite colour and tell him his names BLUE. Prof. Beech then uses his good old shrink ray to shrink the kid, and it turns out he also has a teleporter because i'm now in some random kids bedroom, good old Prof. Bladdernut. (yes it is a tree, GOOGLE it). :D
Estranged Mother:
- Now that i'm in some kids house I decided to play his XBOX. But OMG hes got a NES :( I feel for the poor guy. So after learning that this kid parents are sick and depriving him of a childhood i decide to check out the PC and check his MSN. What no password nice :D. What no mail s**te ! I'm starting to think this kid has no life so curious to see the poor soul I head down the stairs and the kids delusional mother thinks im her son! I try to explain to the poor women who was obviously estranged that I wasn't her son but in the end I decided to go along with her charad, I'm too kind. Turns out Prof. Bladdernut ( I think ill stick with this name its awesome:D) is looking for me. So I go over to Bladdernuts' lab and there just some spiky haired kid there (who knows my name) and some specky smarticles so I head out. I go to leave town and good old Bladdernut finds me. Apparently it is dangerous to walk into long grass as Wild POKADOT's may attack. So kindly Bladdernut says hell give me my very own POKADOT. WOOOOOT !
My first POKADOT!!!:
- Back in Bladdernuts' lab that spikey haired kids still here it turns out that he's Bladdernuts grandson.WHAT A TWIST! Bladdernut then tells me too choose a POKADOT. Apparently this is very important and will have a serious impact on my story so he gave me three choices:
BULBASAUR - The Green POKADOT
SQUIRTLE :D - The Blue POKADOT
CHARMANDER - The Red POKADOT
I really don't like GREEN and it was a hard choice between RED and BLUE but I decided that BLUE was more my colour so I choose the Blue POKADOT Squirtle! I then was offered to nickname my POKADOT so I decided to call him Atlantis. It turns out spikey haired kid's favourite colour was the horrible Green, I'm alreadys starting to dislike this kid. But just as I go to leave Spikey haired kid challenges me to a POKADOT battle because it turns out that his favourite colour was really BLUE and he is really mad because i choose BLUE. Then I remembered that I named him BLUE and tried to explain the irony to him that his name is BLUE with the GREEN POKADOT but he didn't see the funny side of it. O well anyway I figured that because BLUE is a better colour than GREEN that means that I win the POKADOT battle but apparently thats not how it works and its alot more complicated than that, so Bladerrnut decides to be a good sport and walks me through it. Spikey kid must be really mad cause it turns out the BLUE is better than GREEN and I win. Spikey kid then gives me 300 bucks!!!!! OMG !!! It turns out you can get rich by winning POKADOT battles and I've got a BLUE POKADOT which is the best so I'll be like a millionaire in a week! Spikey kid then storms off with his GREEN POKADOT and I leave soon after.
- End of Part 1
If you guys enjoyed ill post more like this, if not ill just update normally, PEACE :D !
Sorry that I have no updates. But i go through games so fast that I do it in one sitting instead of multiple. I do use roms however so that does increase speed by alot. So I did a Crystal Nuzlocke a litte bit ago. Finally around a Hotspot to update and say that im done. Had to go through twice. Lost the first time at steel gym. Second time lost my Swinub (Kea) right after I caught it, and I also lost my Pidgeot (Fea) at Lance. But I did get though and beat Red using my Crobat (thems is beast) he was lvl. 100 for as i grinded him in the leet 4 for a while. I also Had a Feraligator, Gengar. And thats it. so put FANOFFIRESTARTERS!!! down for GSC Nuzlocke Champ plz thx bi
My LG Nuzlocke failed, so I'm ready to go at it again... *gulp* I'm really not looking forward to this one due to the sheer fact of my Starter Pokemon, but I'm doing a Nuzlocke of SoulSilver.
Rules:
Faint = Boxed until Red is defeated. One PokeCenter visit when I enter a town, two while grinding (though I'll usually only use one unless I'm extremely underleveled because I get bored so easily), and one just before leaving (or going to a Major Event in the town).
Nicknames (I will probably just use the Final Form Japanese Name COMPLETELY spelled; i.e. Meganium = Meganiumu).
Legendaries will be boxed until after Red is defeated.
Routes 29 and 30 don't count as "Catch the first Pokemon you See" Routes until AFTER I get Pokeballs.
I rethought the PokeCenter Rule just because it never really seems to apply. I never spend that much time grinding, so PokeCenter is now unlimited to me because it's just another unneeded thing to keep track of.
I will try to update after major events, but I will probably forget a few and just combine updates.
Part 1:
Spoiler:
Professor Elm calls me to his house, so I steal his Chikorita (Meganiumu) and run off on his "errand" towards Cherrygrove to see Mr. Pokemon (I'd hate to be him. Can you imagine going through HighSchool with a name like that?). When I leave Elm's Lab, I turn to talk to Meganiumu and it notices that "There's a leaf"... Is this thing retarted? There's a leaf on it's head! I can already tell this is going to be a LONG adventure. Dx
Before I set out for Mr. Pokemon's house, I stop back at home and pick up my PokeGear so Elm can annoy me from the confines of his Lab instead of annoying me in person.
After getting a few pokeballs, I set out to catch my first Nuzlocke pokemon, a L2 Rattata (Koratta) on Route 29. MURPHY'S LAW STRIKES! The first Rattata I find is holding a Chilan berry and I use tackle... I could've really used that berry. :'(
After grinding a whole level (WOW!), Koratta dies to a pidgy's HaxCrit with only 7 EXP left until a Level Up... I'm just not lucky today. D':
Meanwhile, my grinding HAS payed off a little bit. Meganiumu is now L14, which means I'll probably have a Bayleaf by the time I get to Falkner.
After looking at what moves Bayleaf and Meganium get, I'm deciding to keep Chikorita until L34 when I can get Body Slam 10 levels early at the cost of missing Petal Dance (which I wasn't planning on using anyway. Being confused by opponents is bad enough. I don't need to be confusing myself).
It's a real shame that Chikorita has a Bold Nature, though. I don't have access to any good Special Attacks until Kanto Region. :(
After finishing my grinding for a while, I head up to Route 30 to catch my replacement for Koratta: a L3 Weedle named Supeaa (hurrah for bad names)! With a Brave Nature, his physical attacks won't be COMPLETELY useless, at least. I wish I had something that could hit Falkner hard, though. :( It looks like I'll just be Poisoning his Pidgiotto so Roost won't be as effective. Maybe I can get Supeaa up to L25 before I go to get Toxic Spikes and Badly Poison him. xD
I used to do Competitive Battles... Why did I think TS would work on Flying-Type Pokemon?
My first battle with Supeaa and a L3 Sentret leaves him with 1HP after a HaxCrit. How does an attack doing 4 damage normally do 10 with a Crit?!? It always rounds down and the MAXIMUM four damage could do (4.9 rounded down) is 9 damage with a crit (9.8 rounded down). Why does it round up when it would be a bad thing?!
I really hate OverLeveling NFE pokemon, but I'm thinking of keeping Weedle until I get Bug Bite. I'll replace it with U-Turn when I beat Bugsy, but having an extra 16 Base Power (STAB Twin Needle = 37/hit (74) < STAB Bug Bite = 90) is useful this early in the game.
On my way through Route 30 towards Violet City, we fight the AWESOME Youngster Joey and his Rattata. Nothing really gives us any problems, so I continue up Route 31 and KO the first Pokemon I see, a L4 Weedle. With Supeaa at L10 already, it's not really needed, so I run up to Dark Cave to catch something that isn't weak to Flying-Type Falkner. My first encounter: L2 Zubat with an Errored Name on my part! I named him "Zubatto", so I'll rename him when I get to Goldenrod to "Kurobatto".
I also just noticed that my dead Koratta is also misnamed...
While wandering around on Route 31 grinding Zubatto/Soon to be Named Kurobatto, I find my first Shiny Leaf! I have no idea what good it does me, but I have it now! :D
I finally finish my grinding with all my party members at least L8, so I head off to Sprout Tower. Bellsprout Sages are EXTREMELY easy for Supeaa, having a double resistance to their only attack. When I finally make it to the top of the tower, I run into my first wild Pokemon of the area: a L5 Gastly (Gengaa). *ugh* Back down the tower to heal before my final fights of the area. I keep Gengaa out front to train him up a bit. Rattatas are very annoying on the way back up since I have no way to attack them. :( I DO have a plan for him, though. Since my entire team is weak to Flying-Type, I'm going to Curse Pidgeotto and put him to sleep; maybe poison or paralyze him to stop him from Roosting so often when he wakes up. Why can't Gust be Normal-Type like GenI?! Gengaa would devestate this gym. At least he'll render Metapod completely useless in the next Gym and get rid of Scyther's Priority moves. U-Turn is all I'm really worried about for Bugsy.
The Sage is easily defeated at the top and I pick up Flash, so I walk back down AGAIN with an Escape Rope unused since I don't feel like buying another one for the Ruins of Alph puzzle. Obviously, my next stop is at the Ruins to pick up all the Healing Items in the back room. While I'm in the area, I pick up an Unown (Annoon) as a Potion Slave in the Falkner battle. I really don't plan on him living very long, but having a Pokemon that I don't care about is useful for healing the ones I do. On the way out of the Ruins, I run into an Unown with HP Psychic, Dark, or Ghost that takes Gengaa down to 4HP in one hit. YAY for more luck!
Since I'm already in the area, I pick up an Ekans on Route 32 named Aaboku at L5. Not the best, but an addition to the team nonetheless. All that's left is a bit of grinding to get Curse on Gengaa and go fight Falkner.
Edit: Does anyone else hate Chikorita's Overworld Sprite?

Chapter 1: Carlito is my Tex-Mex Hero
Moving into Littleroot Town
So I being my journey in the Hoenn region by arriving at my new home. Some Vigroth are unpacking the boxes, and I adjusted the clock in my room. After that, my mom told me to go meet the neighbor girl, May, but she was busy when I had arrived. So I went up and ventured onto Route 101 to be "shocked" at seeing Prof. Birch being chased by a wild Poochyena! I promptly opened up his pouch in search of a Pokemon to choose as my starter. Having picked Mudkip countless times, and honestly hating Torchic's evolutions, I decided to go with Treecko.
Picking Treecko
Using my new friend Treecko, I protected Prof. Birch from the ferocious level 2 Poochyena with a couple Pounds. He thanked me and told me to meet his daughter May, who was on Route 103. I soon after nicknamed my Treecko Carlito, after a catchy video that I had been introduced to recently thanks to a couple users on this site. I traversed to Route 103 in search of May with minimal contact with Pokemon, only fighting a Wurmple and Zizagoon before arriving at her. I seem to have interrupted her research, but she was down for a battle.
May is a feisty one.
Naturally I was a little worried because I knew she had Torchic that under higher level circumstances would dominate my Treecko, but I forgot that her Torchic was still a measly level 5 and only knows Scratch and whatever its stat modifier move it (growl?). My Treecko was level 6, so it knew Absorb, but I knew that would be useful to try and use because it would be resisted anyway. I decided instead to start of with Leer, and spam Pound until the little bird died. It worked of course, and May congratulated me on my first trainer victory!
50% health, not bad.
After beating her, we raced back to the Professor's lab in order to receive our very own Pokedex. With that, I was free to leave Littleroot without any other interruptions...until my mom decided to stop me and give me Running Shoes. I remember when RSE introduced Running Shoes and I was in love with them because walking everywhere was horrible and slow. Thanks Gamefreak. I caught a cute little Wurmple on Route 101, named Wormy as a homage to SpongeBob; I caught a Poochyena named Wolf on Route 103 named Wolf, after user Wolflare. Anyway, I went to Odale Town to stock up on Potions, Pokeballs, and the oh so important Antidote for later when I enter Petalburg Woods, and the nasty "10%" chance to poison Poison Sting. I continued on to Route 102 in hunt of a new Pokemon to add to my team. Lucky for me, I got quite the diverse team and found a Zigzagoon. After catching it, I decided to nickname it Vrai, due to his general uselessness and how simple and basic he is, as well as his female-ness. He opposed this idea, but he might not when he evolves into a majestic Linoone.
Nicknaming my Zigzagoon Vrai
Clearing up Route 102 and its trainers was rather easy with my constant visits to the Pokecenter to ensure that my Pokemon stay safe, and my Pokemon, I mean Carlito. I hadn't really considered training the other pokemon just yet. I arrived in Petalburg shortly after to meet up with my dad in the gym, but he quickly sent me off to help some nooblet catch a Pokemon. Of course the lucky bastard finds a Ralts and heads of to Verdunturf. I decide to go on and venture into Route 104, challenge all the trainers while training my non-Carlito Pokemon before trying to catch a wild Pokemon to add to my team. Just as I finished defeating all the trainers, I hopped into the tall grass to be met by a Marill! I sent in Wolf to take it down to a catchable health, howling the first turn, followed by two Tackles. Of course, with my luck, the second Tackle landed a critical hit and fainted the wild Marill. I was devesatated as it could have been lovely to have a Water-type Pokemon on my team for the eventual battle with Flannery.
Poor, poor Marill. You will be missed.
With that failed attempt at catching a Pokemon on Route 104, I was too bitter to try and look for more (well, you know, I'm not allowed to), so instead I trained up my whole team a little bit more and headed off into Petalburg Woods.
Thanks for reading, I will be continuing this journey tomorrow and post the next chapter upon beating Roxanne. I'll be adjusting the format somewhat sometimes if something is bothering me. So, leave feedback on format too. >:o I realize the box is a bit short...so I might change that.
1. If a Pokemon Faints, its dead, release it.
2. No Healing Outside of battle, unless the Elite Four 3. You can only catch/recieve one Pokemon in each Area. A town is one area, a route is one area, a cave is one area, etc. Should you fail to catch a Pokemon for any reason (other than game corruption) than too bad.
4. You must nickname all of your Pokemon

Chapter One
Spoiler:
"This. Is. Boring." Justin grumbled. "Do the news reporters have nothing else to do, other than quote an old man?! Life would be so much more fun if I was ruler."
Justin was the average guy his age. A teenager with dreams of dominating the world. Not much different than anybody else.
"Justin! Hurry, let's go recklassly run through some tall grass and hope we get attacked by Bidoof." His friend's, Gunny's, voice jolt him from his daydreaming.
"Yeah, sure, let's go.." Justin said, less enthusiasticly.
Barry half ran, half fell down his stairs and ran out of the house. Justin sighed and walked downstairs. "Mom, Gunny and I are going to run wildly through tall grass."
"That's fine, honey. Be back by dinner." His mother called from the kitchen.
Justin grabbed the doornob and walked outside. He closed the door behind him and walked towards Route 201. As soon as he walked onot it, Gunny bounced in front of him. "Ready?!"
Justin nodded. "You should've been named 'Chipmunk'" He muttered.
Gunny backed away from the tall grass. "Three... Two..."
"WAIT!" A voice yelled.
Justin whipped around, along with Gunny. The old man was walking towards them, a girl around their age walked at his side. "It looks like you two don't have any Pokemon on you."
Gunny laughed softly, rubbing the back of his head.
Justin rolled his eyes. "So? What's wrong with not having Pokemon?"
"You haven't heard of what has happened? People and Pokemon have become more aggressive. Trainers and Pokemon now have to kill to be able to win battles..." The old man said.
Justin grinned. Pokemon don't sound so stupid now. "Wow! Old man, would you happen to have any Pokemon to give us?"
Gunny stared at him. "Of course he does! He's the person we were-"
Justin kicked Gunny, silencing his one at once.
"My name is Professor Rowan, not old man." The old man growled. "And yes I do. Cheren grab the briefcase."
"My name's Jade!" The girl snapped, handing the Professor a briefcase.
"I don't think so." There was a quick 'click' and the briefcase opened. "Go on, choose." The Professor's eyes flickered between the two.
"You can choose first, Justin! See, I'm more mature!" Gunny smiled.
Justin narrowed his eyes and stepped towards Professor Rowan. The Pokeball's had labels below them. He grabbed the one called 'Chimchar' and let it out. "Hello!" It sqealed.
"HOLY JESUS!" Justin yelped.
"You really haven't seen Pokemon for a while, have you? After spending so much time with humans they've learned how to speak English." Jade explained.
Gunny, smirking, grabbed Piplup. Professor Rowan explained the new rules. "I would also like you to complete these Pokedex's for me." Professor Rowan handed both of them a Pokedex. "Good day."
"If this was a book, it was really fastly written." Justin commented. "I'm going to nicname you... Flame."
"Yeah, but anyways. I've waited long for this moment, Justin, I challenge you to a Pokemon battle!"
ok I haven't updated in quite a while, but I have had a lot going on... mainly school. All I have had time to do is level up my recent Pokemon, so pretty boring stuff. The training gets really boring so then I start not playing for a while haha. I have also been switching between Pokemon games - Firered (Nuzlocke) and my Pokemon Black.
Hopefully I will get some stuff done, but if not, I'll do a short update

Chapter Two
Spoiler:
Justin grinned at his friends enthusiasm. "Very well. Flame, go!"
"Pip, take him down!" Gunny's Piplup jumped up in front of him.
Justin clicked some buttons on his Pokedex and scanned Flame's moveset. "Scratch!" He ordered.
The Chimp Pokemon leaped at Piplup, scratching at it's eyes. "Ow!" Pip squealed.
"Pip, use Pound!" Gunny ordered.
"Dodge and use Scratch again!" Pip ran threateningly at Flame. Flame swiftly jumped behind Pip and when she turned around he swiftly clawed at her eyes again.
Pip fell backwards, fainted. Flame stalked up, ready to make the final strike. "Flame, stop. This was just a fun battle."
Flame looked uncertain but nodded, "Okay."
Gunny ran forward and grabbed Pip. He looked up at Justin, anger in his eyes. "You won't beat me next time!" With that, he ran off.
Smirking, Justin started walking. "We're one step closer to dominating the world."
Flame walked beside him. "You're a dreamer." He smiled.
"Yeah, well this dream is going to come true, with the help of Pokemon, of course." Justin said. As they neared Sandgem Town they began slaughtering Bidoof and Trainer's Pokemon.
Flame leveled up alot. When they entered the small town, they instantly shot to the Pokeballs. After that they left the town.
**************************
"Where are all the Pokemon?!" Justin grumbled. They had been searching Route 202 for Pokemon for an hour and none showed up.
"Be quiet and listen." Flame snapped. He listened closely. When he heard a faint rustle in the trees, he sent out a light ember. A Starly fell out of the leaves.
"Oh my..!" The Starly chirped. It opened it's wings and shot towards Flame with Quick Attack. Flame barely dodged and used Ember again.
The Starly fell and Justin threw a Pokeball. It wiggled a little and stopped. Justin trotted forward and grabbed it. What's a good name? Ah, I know... "Stars, come on out!"
"Stars? Well that's a... Name." The Starly tweeted.
Justin chuckled. "I like you," He said. "Like a little, Pokemon, me."
Stars closed her eyes and smiled in a bird way. "So, when are we going to reach Jubilife?"
"Soon." Justin replied.
Chapter Three
Spoiler:
After a long day of grinding, Justin and his Pokemon reached Jubilife City.
"Weird city." Justin mumbled. First the Looker dude and some random guy that gave him a Poketch. He tried the lottery and lost. Typical. "Okay, guys. Time for Oreburgh, when we get that gym badge we'll be a lot closer to our goal."
Stars cheered happily and flew upward. "... Umm... Justin. I see a stupid-looking human rapidly coming towards us."
"Wha-?" Justin's question was cut off as Gunny crashed into him. "Gunny! You flake!"
"Oh, sorry, Justin. I saw you and I instantly thought we needed to battle!" An excited Gunny said.
Justin sighed. "Fine. Stars, go."
"Flight, come on out!" A Starly came out of Gunny's Pokeball.
"Stars, defeat it without killing it." Justin ordered.
Stars nodded and defeated the other Starly with a single Quick Attack. Pip was harder, but she defeated her. Stars stood up proudly on the ground, puffing her chest out. A bright light illuminated the cold, night air and Stars began to grow and change. The light slowly disappeared and a Staravia stood in Stars place. "Cool." Justin said plainly.
Flame stared at Stars. "Awesome! Now we're even stronger!"
Stars nodded.
"That was just luck! I'll win next time! You'll see!" Gunny stormed off, again.
With my natural ability of getting lazy near the end of challenges, I thought I should start my third nuzlocke attempt. :D

I will also try to nickname all of my pokemon. :P
Update:
I won't really be going into detail about my run, just putting it into bullet points.
Spoiler:
-Started game and named myself Chez. Did all the crap around town, meeting May and going to kill a Raccoon.
-Decided to take Mudkip who scored a critical on the Zigzagoon LIKE A BOSS, earning its name. Boss the quiet female Mudkip.
-I left to find May, grinding Boss up to lv8 before heading onto Route 103, hoping that I wouldn't meet any pokemon in the grass and for once, my luck paid off.
-I dominated May's little green fiend, then she decided to run home to daddy so I followed her.
-After getting a pokedex and some balls from May, I went back to Route 103 and caught Luce the Zigzagoon.
-I headed to Route 102 to catch another pokemon, finding a dreaded Seedot, putting her in one of my balls and naming her Mia.
-While grinding, Mia was making my life hell, so I relied on Luce to help grind her. Then came a wild Seedot, killing Luce. After burrying Luce, I decided that she would not die in vain.
In game name: Exilon
Game: Soul Silver (on NDS)
Rules used: all of them. Including NO-healing outside of battle.
Rules (for reference):
Spoiler:
1. If a Pokemon Faints, its dead, release it.
Spoiler:
2. No Healing Outside of battle. 3. You can only catch/receive one Pokemon in each Area. A town is one area, a route is one area, a cave is one area, etc. Should you fail to catch a Pokemon for any reason (other than game corruption) than too bad.
4. All pokemon are nicknamed.
5. No legendaries.
6. Trading is disallowed, but the reasons following this clause are allowed. Egg trading is okay, same thing with Pokemon that can't have eggs. (optional) Trading simply for the purpose of evolution is perfectly OK.
7. Battle style is SET.
8. Make Comics (maybe some texts..)whenever something amazing happens.
Important, before I get into the chapters: When I started, I interpreted Rule 3 as "you can choose which pokemon to capture, but only one per area, and if you fail, you can't do it again." I only realized a few moments ago the original intention was "catch the first pokemon you find in every area"... and since it IS imperative, there is no way around it, and I'll start with it from now on. In any case, all pokemon captured WERE the first I saw in their respective Route.
Chapter 1
Spoiler:
From the beginning to Violet City.
Introduction /skipskipskip/
Hi, Prof. Elm.
- Choosing the starter was a tough decision. This is the first step on a tough journey with an uncertain ending! In the end, I opted for Chikorita, seeing as she was my first starter a long time ago on Silver, and I remembered her having tough defenses. Also learned Razor Leaf at Level 7. I named her Sunny, vowing to protect her no matter what, and carrying this from beginning to end. *determined face*
OUT New Bark Town!
I looked at the grass and set the first foot, then the second. I was frightful that my first battle could end in desperation, but luckily I had some Potions Elm's partner gave me.
Nothing on the first patch.
Nothing on the second patch.
I ran to get a pokeball which was luckily a potion. I thought "meh, what can go wrong with this many potions.." and I threaded gloriously on the patch. BATTLE!
... I should stop at this point to say I had never felt so alive in a pokemon game since the first Silver game, and that the music never seemed lively as it did at that moment. A Level 4 Hoothoot. I wasn't going to back down from my first battle, so I did what I had to do: endlessly tackle the hoothoot. Luckily, he didn't hurt me much and so I rejoiced when he fainted. The second step was done. I had defeated my first pokemon and was alive. Hooray!
The rest was pretty much straightforward until Mr.Pokemon: got the running bag, and the apricorn shoes (I mean the running shoes and the apricorn bag). Also was surprised Mr.Pokemon healed me (oops, not my fault. Oh well). I grinded enough so that Chikorita would survive the first Rival battle and she did amazing: Lv.9 sunny won against a Lv.5 Cyndaquil, only barely scratched.
returning to Prof. Elm, got pokeballs, and decided to strategically structure my captures so that I got a Bellsprout on Route 31 and a Hoothoot from Route 29. But before that, since it was day, I caught a Modest (ugh) female Pidgey at Route 30. I named her Grace, seeing as how she seemed more gracious than other Pidgeys. Maybe I was wrong.
I got to Violet City and walked around a bit, before returning to look for the pokemon I had to catch.
And this is the end of the first chapter. At this point, I'm fairly happy, but also scared of what happens if I run out of moves. This means my grinding has to be strategical, at least until I get Ethers. And since I can only heal in battles... ... I wonder if there is any real way around this.
I always wanted to try Nuzlocke Challenge and am about to start one on LeafGreen. I just received my starter, a Bulbasaur, whom I named Marluxia. I will update this later on.
Seeing as you revive fossils in a city, the game sees them as being 'met' in that city By that logic, only one fossil can be revived, as you can only have one Pokemon caught per area.
As for shinies, in my rules they're exempt because of their rarity. If you're a purist, though, no shinies unless they're the first in an area.
Before I go any further with my LeafGreen Nuzlocke Challenge, I have a question. What do I do about the Route 1 Pokemon? Running into one of them is inevitable on your way to Viridian City. When you first head through the route, you don't have any pokeballs. You don't even get pokeballs till after you deliver Oak's Parcel to Professor Oak. So are the Route One Pokemon unavailable to catch once you get pokeballs if you had ran into them on your way to Viridian?

Yes, I do believe it counts as the first Pokémon. It shouldn't matter much since Route 2 contains pretty much all of the same ones as Route 1 does anyway.

Thanks for clearing that up and I actually took that as what it was before I read your response. Now onto my Nuzlocke Challenge.

Prologue: The Introduction
Spoiler:
Another boring passed by in the boring Town of Pallet for a bored thirteen year old boy named Artemis. Even his dreams themselves were boring themselves. Who in the world dreams about what they had for dinner? Oh wait, that would be me. The young teen thought as he snuggled up underneath the sheets of his bed, hoping that excitement would grace him tomorrow morning aka. his fourteenth birthday
"Hello, there! Glad to meet you!"
That voice, it was one that the young boy knew pretty well. Who was it again? It happened to be the the voice of professor Oak. Why is Professor Oak in my dream and why isn't he shirtless? Artemis was rather shocked when he heard himself think that. Sure, he knew that he was gay for a two years now but Professor Oak really? Wait a minute. Got the wrong Oak for a moment there. Anyways, moving on.
"Welcome to the world of Pokemon! My name is Oak. People affectionately refer to me as the Pokemon Professor."
Why are you telling me this? I know who you are and how could someone not know about Pokemon? Artemis asked in his head. It's not like it actually mattered anyways. It was only a dream after all.
"This world.... is inhabited far and wide by creatures called Pokemon."
Seriously? You'd have to be living under a Geodude not to know this. If this was an anime then the hero of our story would had a giant bead of sweat suddenly appear on his brow. Occasionally this could be followed by a palm to the face but our hero decided to go with annoyance for this is not an anime, this is a videogame. ...Since when did I have a narrator and did he just break the fourth wall?
Yes, yes I did.
"For some people, Pokemon are pets. Others use them for battling."
Reminds me of that Dog Fighting Story with Michael Vicks.
Quiet you. Apparently our young hero is getting annoyed with me.
"As for myself... I study Pokemon as a Profession."
Yes, I already knew this. Do you forget that you live next door to me.
"But first you must tell me a little about yourself. Are you a boy? Or are you a girl? I must know."
Creepy much? Also that's not his programmed text... oops.
Don't be ashamed. Breaking the fourth wall is fun.
"So you're a boy. Now what is your name?"
How don't you know my name is Artemis?
"Your name is Artemis, is it?"
I never said anything...
"This is my grandson. You two have been rivals since you were babies."
What in the world are you talking about? I don't see Gary anywhere.
"...Erm, What was his name again?"
Oh you poor, poor senile old man. I see that the early stages of Alzheimer's Disease are taking effect. How can one forget Gary's name?
Funny. I love a main character with a sense of humor.
Thanks... Artemis could just imagine a fanged grin coming from the mouth of the narrator of his story. The narrator had a pretty handsome grin if he did say so himself.Don't flatter yourself.
"Artemis! Your very own Pokemon Legend is about to unfold! A world of dreams and blah, blah, blah, blah. You know the rest. I give out this spiel too many times in these games."
Oh wow, the npc broke the fourth wall.
Now enough of that silly NPC. Let's get back to our main character now. As the rest of Professor Oak's text faded away, Artemis's mind scape was slowly filled with a bright white light. To our hero, that could only mean one of two things. Either he had died in his sleep and that explained all the craziness that was going on or maybe just maybe the light to his room was turned on. Turned out to be the latter when his eyes snapped open. It was early in the morning of his fourteenth birthday. What could happen on this day? Find out next time on-
"If you're going to narrate this story then I better not read anymore cliche chapter endings." Artemis commented with an icy glare that pierced through the very soul of this narrator. I like this kid already.
Chapter 2
Spoiler:
- Caught Lv3 Female Hoothoot, serious Nature. Nicknamed Holmes.
- Caught Lv3 Male Bellsprout, Jolly Nature. Named Bellie at Route 31.
- Caught Lv3 Male Geodude, Serious nature. Named Rockhard at Route 46.
- Traded the Bellsprout for an On- wait a second. I'm not allowed to trade, am I? ... Bellie has ran out of moves. I am doomed.
-Hoothoot was killed by a Stupid Lv3 Sentret. Crit hit Scratch.I mourned Holmes loss and proceeded to take mighty revenge on the Sentret.
- Entered the Bellsprout Tower. Defeated some guys. Got Flash. Captured a Lv3 Rattatta, nicknamed him Rabioso, serious Nature.
- Trained Rabioso and Rockhard for Falkner. Got to his gym. Faced Flakner with Rockhard, which leveled to 11 and learned Rock Throw at the best possible time, skewering his Pidgeotto instantly.
- Received the Togepi Egg at Violet City Mart. Will be named Fairytale.
- Caught a Lv6 Gentle Male Wooper at Route 32 nicknamed Blues.
- Caught a Lv5 Zubat at Union Cave, nicknamed him Genesis.
I did the chapter like this because for some reason the post killed himself and I had to redo it.
Wow, it's been a while since my last update. I didn't even know there was a new thread o.o (Fail on my part -_-')
