Was Gen IV going overboard on the Evolutions?
Yes I really do think so. I tend to consider the first generation Pokemon "untouchable". Meaning They've been the same way for so long that I would prefer if they were left untouched forever from now on. My biggest complaint being with Rhyperior. Rhydon was the first Pokemon ever created and a real Pokemon classic in my opinion. I just feel like they completely ruined it by adding on a hideous evolution like Rhyperior.
What is your opinion on Generation V having none, do you like it or dislike it?
I would like it more if they didn't create Pokemon that now look like they should be certain evolutions to some past Pokemon. I know it's a whole different region far away so the new Pokemon are suppose to be new yet similar, but the whole Luvdisc and Mamanbou situation still bothers me. :/
I actually kind of liked Rhyperior compared to ones like Ambipom, Magnezone, Yanmega, Probopass. I didn't mind so much that it was Generation I one pokemon they were touching, but the fact that they could be using those slots on new unrelated too previous generations pokemon. Some of the designs really didn't change much like Rhyperior so there wasn't much of a ah that's cool feeling for them. As for Mamanbou I wasn't too happy that they created that too look like a Luvdisc.
What are your Opinion of Evolutions & Pre-Evolutions?
Evolutions I don't mind so much, if they actually put some work behind their design, and actually give them additional/new moves on top of the evolution. Pre-evos seem like unneeded slots too me, they could be using those slots too make new pokemon that are actually worth while. Sure they may be "cute" but I am not into the whole cute thing.
Which do you favor more Evolutions or Pre-Evolutions?
For me it is always evolutions, as I generally don't see the need for pre-evolutions. Both as previously said are used to bring the pokemon back in the limelight but I would rather not see them if they come in the form of a pre-evolution. That's one thing if the pre-evolution Budew is accompanied by and evolution Roserade, thus completing a evolutionary line.
What is a moderate number for you too have overall between the two?
I would like too see no more then 10 pre evolutions ever. Over 10 seems way too many. As for evolutions if it goes over 15 seems too much. 30 combined now I really hope I never see that day.
Was Gen IV going overboard on the Evolutions?
22 evolutions alone if that isn't too much I don't know what is. Sure I am glad they added ones, but some just didn't seem like they warranted one i.e. Magnezone, Rhyperior, Electivire, Magmotar, Dusknoir. Not too say I don't like them, but there previous forms seemed plenty powerful as is.
What is your opinion on Generation V having none, do you like it or dislike it?
A change of pace, and a sense of freshness I like. What I don't like about it is pokemon that might appear too be interrelated with previous generation pokemon. Basically ones that have a striking resemblance too current ones.
