If someone wasn't interested in pokemon I'd have to wonder why they're here...

No I haven't ever drifted away and I never will. When I was a bit smaller I used to think there would come a point where I'd feel too old and "mature" for pokemon......but I realized that it doesn't matter what other people might think. If it's something you enjoy you should stick with it.

I was really into it back when I had the original Pokemon Blue. Then I forgot about it and only since joining PC have I started to get back into it.

I hadn't really paid any attention to the fandom and all of that so once I'd done all I could do with my game I sort let it sit collecting dust while I went on to other things. Then, when I was feeling nostalgic I looked into pokemon again and found that they'd gone up to 400+ pokemon from the original games and that caught my interest again.

I have lost interest in certain aspects of pokemon like TCG a long long time ago. Then I became disinterest in trading for collecting purposes. Then became re-interested with the Anime. I have never lost interest in the gaming side of things though. I cannot see me losing interest in pokemon in the near future. There might be new games and new anime that may interest me more, but that still does not detract from my interest in pokemon.

I never got tired of the games but the anime I got tired of for a while and then came back. The TGC I have never gone back to however (I'm not made of money).

I don't ever thing I'll drift away from Pokemon (the games at least).

I drift in and out of Pokemon quite a bit depending on what I'm into at the moment. Usually I end up drifting out of it during those times when I can't think of anything to do in the games. With that said, I'm concerned about my interest in Pokemon continuing because I am not paticularly excited about B/W. As for the anime, I've ditched that and won't look back until (the highly unlikely event that) Ash and Pikachu are discontinued.

But as far as looking for fanart of Leaf from FR/LG, I've never drifted out of doing that, lol

I drifted away from it when I was in 5th grade, but only because I never bought Ruby or Sapphire (though I'm not sure why). I got one of them for Christmas a few years later and became completely obsessed all over again :3

This is pretty much what I do every Generation of Pokemon. At first, it started out with Pokemon Pearl Version. Once I beat the game, I got bored of it and drifted out of Pokemon for some time before coming back about 2 months later for Diamond Version due to losing Pearl. After beating the game a second time, I played quite a bit more than my 1st time but eventually drifted away once again. Eventually, I found the older games and started playing them, refueling my interest in Pokemon once again. Once I heard about the release of Pokemon Platinum, I went out and got it and beat it again. Thankfully though, this time there was a Battle Frontier, which was one thing I missed from Emerald. This time, I stayed with Pokemon for a good 2 years at least before drifting away AGAIN. Finally, Pokemon SoulSilver was released, and I was back again, pleased with the new refinments in the game like the GB Sounds. I played with this game for about 4 months before drifting away from Pokemon once more and expanding my gaming horizons beyond it.

Currently, I have drifted away from the Pokemon games but plan on coming back to get White Version. I just can't wait!:D

I drifted away for quite a few years in my early teens. It was during this really strange paranoia phase I was going through, and Pokemon totally left my mind. But, after awhile, I started to come out of my shell again and realized that I wanted to stop following the crowd. They were all trying to grow up so fast and, well, I wanted to slow it down! So, I got really into Pokemon again a couple of years ago (it helped that I met someone with whom I could discuss it with; unfortunately, he's now grown out of it and prefers parties) and now I'm as hooked as ever! I don't think I ever want to let it slip away from me again. I'm too experienced with it to just give it up like that. It's like an old friend.
Care to help me out with my research?

It was my obsession as a child, I watched the anime, played the card games, played the gameboy games and then unsurprisingly I grew out of it. I probably started playing/gaining an interest in Pokemon again when I was about fourteen when I started playing Blue and Yellow (for the nostalgia more than anything) and from then I've kinda just remained involved in the fandom.

I was really into it back in RBY days and even in GSC days. But, after that I had a really long drift where I felt I was too old for it. Although I kept all my pokemon things since they were nostalgic to me and reminded me of when I was a kid, I still missed it to some degree but didn't really care for the newer games. About a year ago I bought a DS and gave Pearl a shot and regained my love for pokemon though it's years later. XD I even started collecting cards again since HGSS and I never really got any GSC cards back in the day. Of course there are times I play other video games more, but I love the games again. I don't see that changing soon!

I started drifting away from Pokemon after GS - Stuff started to require more GB Color and soon after even GB Advance, and I didn't exactly feel like spending money on that while my GB Pocket was still working fine.
So I played RBYGS for some more time, more and more decreasingly. Somehow got back to it after a while though, switched to DS+Pearl after my GB Pocket fell down from a table one time too much. Not too soon after (a year maybe, two at most) the DS went to the shelf because I discovered the miracles of emulation.
So I guess I can say it's been like some kind of parabole up to now.

I've drifted from the Pokémon video games quite a lot actually. Sometimes, it gets to the stage where I can't be bothered to pick it up and it becomes tedious to me. When that happens, I leave it for about a month and play other games. This gives me another perspective and helps me to find the game a lot more refreshing when I do go back to it.

As for other forms of Pokémon media - I don't find myself drifting away from them. The animé and manga are released in fixed times, so they're always refreshing and new in one way or another. This means that they don't warrant any tedious feelings towards them.

I drifted away for a few years and for a while genuinly didnt like pokemon, due to others attitude toward it rubbing off on me(mother didnt like it, me getting older, my friends making fun on middle schoolers playing the TCG at lunch, etc.). Ended up selling Ruby and Fire Red and Yellow I had simply lost :(. Even when D/P came out I wasnt excited. But a frined I made at summer camp own3d a copy of Pearl and let me play it. I said to myself this isnt that bad. I hardcore made a comeback a few months before HG/SS. Have Platinum/Emerald/Fire Red/HG/SS and plan on buying both White and Black when they release :)
Never really was into the Anime and I played the TCG for a while but I DID grow out of thatvafter a while, just games now

I never drifted away from Pokemon; I loved it since I saw the very first episode of Pokemon. I do remember though, after I had played Gold and Crystal versions over and over, I thought to myself "I should stop buying these games. It's always the same thing every time, and eventually they get old, and I don't have any other kind of game to play because I spend all of my money on them"

Then when I got a GBA for my birthday, I bought Ruby Version. I didn't listen to myself. XD

I read about it in a gaming magazine, and I just couldn't help myself.

I. Am. Awesome.

I was super obsessed with Pokemon when I was in middle school, but I drifted away from it in high school because it seemed childish and uncool to me. When I was in college I got back into it when Diamond and Pearl came out, but I didn't have much time to play because of classes. After I graduated and heard that Black and White were coming out in English, I started getting excited about Pokemon again.

It helps that I have a gamer geek boyfriend who was into Pokemon when he was younger, too. We've been playing through the old games together (nostalgia!) I think having someone else to chat with about Pokemon fuels my fire for it. XD
