Let's face it, at age 8, most of us spammed Fire Blast and Hyper Beam, yet we were able to outlast even the hardiest of the Elite Four with the sheer power of attacks like the ones mentioned above. Now that we've learned that the "attacks that don't do any damage" and the "worthless X items" have uses, and profound ones at that, have you ever used any stat boosting moves or items? I myself, am an avid competitive battler, yet I actually have yet to use boosts in an in-game battle.

I've never really used X items. I just sell them. I may use a stat boosting move occasionally though.

I LOVE all kinds of stat boosters, except maybe these untrustworthy crit rate increasers. Spending some worthless money or a moveslot for them is almost always worth it, allows going into boss battles underleveled and win unscathed unless you can be 2HKO-ed (if you can get 3HKO-ed things might get risky as well, unless you have a crit-blocking ability. Lucky Chant is also an option but not worth anything, these 5 turns are over VERY quickly when you're busy spamming stat ups), so it helps avoiding a lot of annoying grinding.

I have been playing Pokemon for going on 13 years now, and not once have I used an X item. I just sell them or leave them sitting in my bag. The only time I use stat boosting moves are when they are attached to a real attack - for instance, Flame Charge in Gen V increases Speed.

I've never used an X item. Ever. They seem kind of worthless to me, so they just sit in my bag. Heck, I completely ignore them to the point where I don't use them, sell them, or even remember they exist. I love stat boosting moves though. Whenever I battle my friends, they freak out when my Kingdra uses Dragon Dance because I usually only have to set up about one or two of them (Three for that damn Blissey) before I can defeat each of their Pokémon in one hit.

I never used X items, only once, to try it out. For competitive battling, I used to just attack, but now I use stat moves like Swords Dance now.

I've been tempted to use the accuracy item for my Mew's Horn Drill but I have horse shoes up my rear or something because almost every single time I use it somehow it manages to be successful.

But hey, even if I do manage to waste all the PP on it, I still have 3 other perfectly good moves to back me up. =)

X items get sold back to the Pokemart. And I usually don't use stat-boosting moves in-game except against tougher opponents like the Elite Four... regular trainer/wild Pokemon battles are too brief to make them worth the time.

During my first few playthroughs of Sapphire Version, I hardly ever used X Vitamins items at all. Recently, I recall using them during a few Gyms on one of my non-permanent save files due to battles being somewhat more difficult when I started out with Treecko. Especially against Norman, where I sorely missed the Fighting moves of Combusken/Blaziken. I typically sell them, but they do occasionally have their uses when you don't wish to waste a move slot and still require stat boosts. They only work well during longer battles, though; I hated how the effects dissipated upon switching Pokemon. T_T

I just learned that Guard Spec. (what does "Spec." stand for? Guard Special?) applies to all party Pokemon; LOL. I never really knew its effect... >_> ...I also learned that Generation 4 finally bothered to include an X Vitamin equivalent for Special Defense, which irked me in Generation 3. Yet the X Vitamin for Special Attack is still known as "X Special", rather than "X Sp. Atk"...

The new Generation 5 X Vitamins for the Wonder/Miracle Launcher device seem interesting...I never anticipated items getting used during Link Battles due to the concept of Revive, but the cost aspect helps to balance it out, I hope. So that might increase the prominence of X Vitamin usage...? Sadly, I fear that Pokemon battles involving X Vitamins will just turn into a Super Smash Brothers-like scenario, where Stop Having Fun Guys will be all like "NO ITEMS! FOX OU-Pokemon only! FINAL DESTINATION GLOBAL TERMINAL!" :cer_cry: My response to them...real men (and women) use ITEMS! :cer_no:

I spam Dragon Dance all day, bby! :D Yeah, I love stat-up moves, all of them (except for that Accupressure one. "Yay, my accuracy got boos- oh, wait, it's accuracy." x_x). I do junk the "X" items, though. Maybe it's just the notion of it being an item, but only +1 in a stat per turn really sucks, especially when in this gen we're given a reusable +1 Attack / +1 Special Attack that can be taught to quite a variety of mons in Work Up. They're just... useless, I suppose. :(

The only X item I use is X Accuracy for when the foe spams Sand-Attack or Double Team, and to pump up Hypnosis for catching legendaries.

In situations where I'd want to boost an attack or defense stat, I find it just as useful to use a potion instead. Stat boosting moves are also cheaper.

I use the items from time to time, like when I know trainer I'm battling is going to heal his Poke, or going to use a defensive move. I never spent much (if any) money on it. I do renember fully boosting my Breloom with the items to simply crush Cynthia.

I am a great fan of stat boosting moves though, especially Swords dance, Quiver Dance and Nasty Plot.
I always try to get those moves if a poke is able to learn them. And no, I'm not that stupid to give Weavile Nasty plot or anything like that.

I use Stat Boosters frequently, and I think I will be using them alot on my current challenges. It's better to be safe then sorry. I mean, if you can't beat Hydreigon it 1 hit, your going to get killed. So why don't use a X Sp.Def to help you and let you live longer? What do you prefer, being 2HKO'd or 3HKO'd (and then stacking the X Sp.Defs to help you live more attacks then kill it)

I have never in my life used an X item, which I really should. But normally I just toss them or sell them to the poke mart.

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to moves; I delete stat-boosting moves to make way for damaging ones, but that's the way I like to play it and I've done okay so far :)
