I'm sure everyone has that one game that you've played the hell out of. You've probably completed it at least once, seen everything there is to see, and racked up over a hundred hours (or a lot more!) playing it. Or maybe you just do that with a certain series instead of one game. Do you do it at all?

My kneejerk answer to this question is Tales of the Abyss because I have several files, my longest-played being about 200 hours, but I don't think that's actually the answer. My most played series is easily Kingdom Hearts, but when I actually think about it, I've probably put... well over 500 hours into Kingdom Hearts II over the years. First time I played it was an easy 60, then add on a few more playthroughs for fun, completion, and then the Final Mix version a few times and you're looking at waaay more time than I want to admit to. :x And unlike Abyss, I never feel sick of it. Just thinking about it now makes me want to go start a level 1 run, or play it again. I can get through easily without a guide, I know where to find everything, and almost every boss strategy. I think my dad even knows the lines to a few cutscenes. :P

So anyone else have a game or two they just can't put down? Or do you not go back to games you've played before, moving on to something else instead?

I like this thread, it's very me. Well, depending on the games and series in question. Besides pokemon though?

I had about 5 - 6 different save files for the Final Fantasy games when my family owned a PS2. I think I put close to 100 hours in each and in the first play through file I was well over 100, maybe closer to 200. I couldn't get enough of those games. Eventually I got tired of them and sold them for other games but before that, they definitely ran their courses.

I also played the Grand Theft Auto games for hours upon hours. More specifically, I played Vice City many times. Maybe San Andreas once or twice. I actually never finished Vice City because I got stuck on the mission before the last, so I just started new files and played up to that point. XD I knew where most of the stray weapons were and the hidden packages and armor without a guide, that was great.

On my 360, I've probably logged the most hours with Assassin's Creed games. I played the second game forever it seemed like, replayed missions, collected all items, played around, goofed off. I never played it a second time but well after I was done with it I still played it. I also played Brotherhood for many hours. Still have some things to finish but got tired of playing. If I ever grow tired of a game, I put it away, find a new game to play forever then go back, so that's what happens a lot actually.

Oh, and I also played Batman: Arkham Asylum 4 times through. I need to finish Hard mode again though because my save got ruined right before the boss fight with Joker, and I'm excited to replay it all! Other than that, I've probably logged too many hours on Left 4 Dead, just because it's always fun to play. ^^ It doesn't hurt to go on zombie killing sprees ever.

Pokemon counts. xD I know I've sunk hundreds of hours into the various games but only Diamond could arguably be "that one game" or anything since I completed the dex in it and still actively use it for breeding, haha.

Grand Theft Auto III: I've played this game so many hours, on two different platforms, since this game was released that it isn't even funny anymore. I've beaten it multiple times and it just doesn't get old to me. I never get tired of it, and I just keep playing and playing a playing it. I almost prefer it to GTA IV.

Pokemon Blue: The only Pokemon Game that I never ever stop playing. Every time I beat it on the emulator I replay with new Pokemon and such.

Mirror's Edge: Before I got rid of my Xbox, I probably played this game the most, but I never beat it...it got hard and I would just restart and get back to the part that I would always get stuck on.

Super Mario 64: Again played on multiple platforms and never get tired of it....this is probably the one I've beaten the most times....

Dang, completed the dex too? Props to you! I have never finished a Dex since Pokemon Yellow, but ultimately my original G/S carts take the cake on any over played Pokemon game. I know I gave Gold so many play throughs and Silver had well over 250 hours, maybe closer to 300? I don't remember exactly. Right now, Platinum has the most because I switch around so much and feel I have too many of them.

I completely forgot about GTA III! I also put a lot of hours in that game, but I don't think as much as you. The third is classic though, so much love for it. I haven't played it in so long though, but it's an awesome title. I think I prefer it to the 4th game as well, even if I enjoy the 4th too.

SM64 was a game I played many times from when I was a kid until now. I have it on my Wii too for nostalgic purpose. N64 was my life back in the day. I would also mention Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. I played that thing through and through and never got sick of it. All my friends would ask me to beat the levels they got stuck on since I played it too much. XD I never forgot the battle strategies to this day for most of the temples, I'm sure if I replayed it I'd beat it with no trouble.

Super Smash Bros was right there up there on my N64 list. I loved doing 99 stock kill fights. Hours and hours of CPU smashing! Oh, good ol' N64. You served me so well during my childhood. XP

I never get sick of Emerald...I might get sick of other Pokemon games for a while, but Emerald is always fun to me. Other games tend to bore me. :< Even though Mother 3 is my favorite of all time, I never even beat my second playthough. /awful

Minecraft. I have built a 30000-cobblestone thing on a friend's server, all mined legit.

And the third generation Pokemon games. I remember back when I went to elementary school, I had played my emerald save for like 200 hours, and I had restarted my sapphire save for extra legendaries over 20 times (Didn't know about cloning back then).

Pokemon(Gen III), Medabots RPG Rokusho, Fire Emblem (6,7,8), Advance Wars (1,2,DS) and Final Fantasy Tactics Advance (both 1 and 2). Because, every time you start a new game, you'll play it differently.

Pokemon Diamond, I always play that game. I have 500 hours in it an just love playing it. Also ModernWarfare 2, I have gotten every trophy on 3 different accounts for fun. and have over 9 days play on my main account and a few days on accounts I just use to mess around on.

I dunno if I have a game like this. A game which I can just keep playing and playing for a long time. The only game I can think of is the Kirby series, especially his little Fun Pak/Spuerstar. That's a fun game, and I always like to go back to play it again and again, because I have so much fun playing it. :D

I have two games: The Legend of Zelda: Majora's Mask and The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion. Anyway, for TLOZ:MM, I got every single heart piece, all of the masks, all the upgrades etc. Yeah, I pretty much did everything, and then I got quite bored. XD I still like to mess around with the Fierce Deity Link glitch though. :>

As for Oblivion, pretty much the exact same thing happened. I did pretty much all of the quests (side quests, guilds etc.) and have played the game using most of the races. Although I normally use Argonians because they are adorable. :3

Does excessive multiplayer count as getting sick of it? If so, Mario Kart Wii and Super Smash Bros. Melee/Brawl take the cake for me. I never really play the single-player any more, but whenever a certain set of friends come round, we will literally spend about 4 hours just playing the two sets of games at a time. I still kick their asses all the time, yet they keep coming back for more!

I think my biggest ones would be Homeworld 2, Halo (PC version; was playing King of the Hill on Sidewinder on the night before the release of Halo 3, in fact), Call of Duty 4 and X3 Terran Conflict.

Homeworld 2 had, and Terran Conflict still has, an excellent modding community. Makes the games worth far more than their retail prices. Funnily enough though, I've never really taken to Minecraft. I think the Pokemon franchise has still been my biggest single timesink, but I don't recall it too well.

If I love a game, I will go back and play it, otherwise I will just leave it there. Games like Silent Hill 2, Tales of Symphonia, Portal, Fifa (Lol), Fallout 3, Shadow of the Colossus and so on, I will go back and play when I want to play something amazing. Fifa is there just because I love football and do have an urge at times, but the others are for the story and such.

There are 4 games I can think of off the top of my head that I know I had a lot of hours on.

Battlefield 2: 580hr 46min24sec (just looked up my old profile lol)
http://bf2s.com/player/113777917/

Pokemon Sapphire: 214hr 23min (all my my Pokemon games have 100+ hours but this one has the most)

These two I don't have exact hours but I know they are easily 200+

Sadly, there's really no game that draws me back in like that. There are MANY games (mainly RPGs) that I wish I could play over, but then I recall a specific area/boss/puzzle that just ruins the whole thing for me. Not even the Pokemon games can hold my attention after three or four playthroughs. There's also the feeling of experiencing something great for the first time. I play games for that feeling alone, and it just would be there if I were to replay a game.

For me I have two games, I guess. The first is Pokemon Diamond in which I have nearly 500 hours of play on. I've beat the main storyline, completed the PokeDex (all 493) and I have done nearly everything possible on it. The only reason it is still out and used is because of my various EV training, RNG shiny abuse, IV breeding, and breeding eggs for challenges that I am doing. The other game would be New Super Mario Bros. DS, which I have played trillions of time, to the point where I start a new game and accidentally go through all of the secret exits and defeat the main story in under 30 minutes, and collect all of the star coins and have a perfect save file in 1 to 2 hours. I only ever use it when I am very bored, and all I do is just start a new file and defeat the game which sadly only lasts me a couple of hours.
