So, as I was studying for a test I had coming up..I came up with a great idea! To combine studying and Pokemon, so I wouldnt get bored to death of studying...And I could advance in my game XD. Problem is, I couldnt figure out a way to study good enough... So I cried and resumed my studying. Now, the question is, do you guys think you can come up with a good method? Sorry if this is kind of pointless..Just wanted to see if there was a method to play Pokemon and study *goes into corner and sits*

I do real life stuff first. I need to study? I study. Football? I play. Go out with friends? I go out. I want to play, I find the time inbetween.

Pokemon isn't going to get you a job or pass your course. Remember that.

A lot of my friends play a lot of FIFA or CoD, this is no different.

If I'm trying to motivate myself more I let myself reach a certain goal in studying (5 questions done, etc), then reach a certain goal in Pokemon. I find that when I set myself small goals I study a lot better because it's tangible progress. Sure, I may have 20 goals to reach, but I can see that I'm getting there and completing things. It's the same way for Pokemon, and also why I have a progress bar in my sig. If I set a small goal of all Unova Pokemon, I'm 174 Pokemon closer to my final National Dex goal. :3

Edit: Whoa why did this thread get so serious? o_o;

That's how I'm studying at the moment to avoid becoming insane... I had to study during 3 weeks non-stop each day, one week left now. My formula is to study for 2-3 hours, then achieve a goal in Pokemon, like beating one or two elite fours, visiting the dream world a bit or beating 5 trainers in the battle subway. When I'm done I shut down the game and go back to my books. *Sigh*, 2 exams out of 6 left. I'm so dead tired xD.

I kinda do something similar to Toujours. Like I'll do an assignment and then level up two Pokemon, or catch something I have been looking for. It breaks the monotony a bit, I think~

I always integrate Pokemon and studying/doing assignments. As we speak, I'm doing a project for AP World History... thrilling, I know. xD

I am so busy with college work that the only time I have to play pokemon is before I go to sleep. Sometimes I am too tired by the end of the day that I don't play at all. But I usually get in at least a half hour before I get too tired.

I know I SHOULD focus on work first, but that is a mission that is often unsuccessful. Pokemon has that magical quality that draws me in when I know I should be doing something else. Usually the best I can do is pay Pokemon for a while until I get my fill, then tackle other tasks.

If I don't study first thing in the morning, then I'll just keep putting it off for the rest of the day. Essentially, this means no distractions until - at the earliest - mid-afternoon, whether it be television, Facebook, PC and Pokemon itself. In recent weeks, I've been playing it exclusively at around 8pm: like right now, in fact!

But everyone's different with regards to studying. Some people need regular breaks, some people like to do everything in one go, some people just don't like studying! Whatever works for you is what you should do, as vague and clichéd as that sounds.

Most of the homework I get have due dates that give me a month to do something, and the homework take about a hour to do. Usually, I leave it until late and do my Pokemon-stuff first until about a week before the due date, then it becomes a top priority.
