Day 03 - Underrated Pokemon: I'm saying 2 Pokemon here: Archeops and Sigilyph.

Archeops:

Even though Archeops is held back by Defeatist, its high offenses and Speed ensure that it almost always gets an attack in before it gets into Defeatist range. It can also utilize Flying Gem + Acrobatics to cause massive damage to almost anything.

Sigilyph:

Even though it has the same trollish Speed as Haxorus, Sigilyph makes a good Special sweeper. It can use Magic Guard to protect itself from the destructive effects of Leech Seed, burn and poison. Even though Reuniclus is better at using the Magic Guard + Life Orb strategy, Sigilyph can do it decently.

I think Fearow certainly needs more love. Of course, it's not very good competively, but even in-game most people seem to prefer the Pidgey line. Fearow has stats focused on offense (unlike the balanced Pidgeot), has access to what was for a long time the best of all Flying moves, Drill Peck, and it its looks aren't too bad either, I'm especially fond of its first generation backsprite:

Nidoking. The more offensively oriented of the Nidos, this guy is capable of doing a ton of damage and can have quite diverse movesets.

Honestly? I really think Wigglytuff is a underrated pokemon:

Spoiler:

Because it has a REALLY good movepool. The thing is, I guess game freak nerfed it like crazy. @[email protected]; I also loved him at PM2. ^___^ HE WAS THE BEST. =D

Ludicolo - Like seriously.... That thing can do pretty much anything with proper setup. Yet I see so many people NOT WANTING TO USE IT because Lotad is difficult to train.... That pineapple saved me from ice beams in my monotype... dancing Mexi pineapple FTW

Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated

For me, Lanturn is really underrated. It's a good Water AND Electric Pokemon, and quite bulky if you think about it... but it never seems to get used all that much. Shame, really. I have a little soft spot for it, I s'pose!

Day 01 - Your first Pokemon game

My first pokémon game was Pokémon Emerald. I got it for Christmas (presumably in 2005). It took me until late 2006 to get past Slateport City for some reason, but I still love the game to this day (although the length of the storyline loses some replay value).

Day 02 - Your favourite Pokemon

Well, it's a tie between many pokémon, and is ever-changing, but my current mood puts the top three as Bulbasaur, Charizard and Blastoise.

Bulbasaur is pretty cool, the easiest starter to use, Red had one, Ash still does (I love its' cry in the anime, even though I've hardly ever seen it), and overall it's just a cool pokémon.

Charizard is also cool, possibly one of the strongest starters (the strongest Kanto starter, if you ignore its' weakness to Stealth Rock in competitive play), it's a Dragon, used by Lance, and thus learns cool moves such as Dragon Claw and Dragon Pulse. It's also the only Flying-type starter, and when I first got my copy of Pokémon LeafGreen in 2008, I chose Charmander, and Charizard may well have been the last pokémon that I ever raised to level 100 by myself (my Dragonite was my last lv.100, but it was traded as a Dratini).

Blastoise...well, I've never used it, but it looks cool when I face Blue's Blastoise in LeafGreen. I may be using it in a challenge soon, it's useful (learns all the water-type HMs), and it evolves from Squirtle, who is really cute.

Here's pretty pictures of them all guys:

Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated

Well, there are many, some of which I've seen mentioned in the above posts. However, I'm going to go and promote Slowbro and Slowking, who are really nifty, with nice typing, and well, these slow sloth pokémon can actually be used well competitively you know! They are both lower-tier pokémon who can be used right up in OU (at the moment, Slowbro seems to be slightly more popular), yet excel in their own tiers. They have pretty good movepools, are bulky but have power, and I like their designs too. Here's pictures of them...you know you want to:

Steelix - This thing is great. Most people don't say it's very bad but really rarely do I see anyone noticing what an exceptional Lead it makes or just how good a Curse Tank it can be too. All whilst getting a hugely powerful Earthquake to fire off at everything and Gyro Ball to complement its horrible Speed. Really it is much more useful than people at first think, imo.

Lapras.

It's a great Pokemon with brilliant HP stats. In general though all of it's stats are pretty good and while speed is it's lowest, it makes up for it due to the high HP stat. It has a great move-pool and versatile with it being a dual type, water and ice Pokemon.

Hitmonchan.
This brother has pathetic amounts of HP and Sp. A but has enough Attack and Sp. D to make Kadabra cry if you level him up right. He also has many high priority moves, of many types to punch out anything you'd like to. Not only that, but he has decent to good status/guard moves. And if you'd really like to, he can learn Close Combat to punch that Staraptor back in the beak. No hard feelings Staraptor, I actually really like you too.

But most of all, he's named afterHiroyuki Ebihara in Japanese, Mike Tyson in French and HIT+MONSTER+Jackie CHAN in English/Chinese. YES. DO IT.

Day 03 - A Pokémon that is Underrated:
Hmm... I can't quite think of one, but I guess I should say Marowak!

With Thick Club attached, Marowak's attack gets to the mid 500's alone. With Rock Head and Double-Edge, things can be quite a beast, and since Marowak knows multi-hit moves, annoying substitutes like Whimsicott can bow down to him rather quickly.

Shame his speed is rather low. I guess that's where support and synergy kick in?

Day 03 - A Pokémon that is underrated

Spoiler:

This thing is just amazing. It's regarded as being one of the less desirable starters, but it's much more than that. Aside from it's great design, it also works well as a ToxicStaller and Support Pokemon in battle (in-game, but still). It's won me so many battles that I thought I'd have lost and holds a special place in my heart.

Day 01: Your first Pokemon game.

Spoiler:

Oh, nostalgia. I will never forget playing Red for the first time...

Day 02: Your Favorite Pokemon

Spoiler:

Definitely a tie between Raichu and Arcanine. Though... Lillipup and Typhlosion almost made the cut.

Day 03: A Pokemon that is underrated.

Spoiler:

I never realized Kecleons true potential until I used him in a challenge. He became one of my favorites on that team.

Day 04 - Favorite item
: Tie between Expert Belt and Life Orb.
-Expert Belt: It's not as effective as Life Orb, but my Pokemon don't suffer recoil. I like using this on Pokemon who have excellent type coverage in their moves.
-Life Orb: The recoil could be lower, but the power boost without being locked into 1 move is what it's all about.

I think many people overlook the potential of Shiftry. When equipped with the proper moveset(s), it can prove to be quite lethal in battle.

Day 03 - A Pokemon that is underrated

Not much I can say on this subject, since I tend to use the same Pokemon a lot. But since I started doing Nuzlockes, I think I found one. Raticate was a very helpful physical attacker in my Fire Red run. Not much else I can say.

- I love getting exp and being overlevel! It's easier to level grind against trainers instead of wild Pokemon. Simple as that!

I agree with Syd on this one: VS Seeker. I mean, back in Fire Red I always grind in Vermilion City against that trainers there and man, did I become overleveled. I was so overleveled that I didn't have to grind until I reached Sabrina!

I have to third this.... Vs. Seeker - None of the other rematch type things did as good a job at consistent trainer grinds as the vs seeker. Trainer pokemon give off more experience... thus they should be readily available post game.... WHERE ALL YOU DO IS GRIND.

When I did my St. Patrick's day challenge I found new respect for Victreebel. It carried me through most the game.

Day 4: Your favorite item
I like the GB Sounds in Pokemon HeartGold and SoulSilver. It was one of the best things they could've done in a remake and they did. I loved the music in Pokemon Gold and Silver and I was happy I could listen to it again.
