Well, I was watching Code Geass the other day, and thought of a question that I've been asking everybody, and I thought I'd ask here too. Its a bit weird, but also cool ;)

If you had the choice of one of three powers which would it be;
  1. The power to get anyone to obey whatever command you gave them (but only once per person e.g. I could use it on my dad, but after that, it wouldn't work)
  2. The power to freeze people's perception of time for up to 30 seconds (meaning they stop, but time itself doesn't)
  3. Or the power to alter peoples memories how you wish, though not all memories can be reached.
So which would you choose? I'm really curious.

I chose #1, because it could have awesome effects if you used it one yourself, and forgot you used it on yourself at the same time, just saying, there are loop-holes.

Definitely the first one. I could make every person in the world accept me as their undeniable leader, and then they would have to obey me for the rest of my life. What could some little limited mind manipulation tricks (the ones given by 2 and 3) be useful for when you have the option to permanently rule the world?

I would have taken number 2, but then I realised that it was made redundant by number 3, as rather than freezing time to do something you could just remove whatever that would be from their memories instead. Number 3 for me.

The first and third choices seem so... heartless. I could never play with someone's mind like that. At least stopping time temporarily is, well, temporary. And it doesn't play around with someone's free will.

Number one. Controlling the minds of others sounds so deliciously evil, wahahaha....

Number three.

I'm not good at being a leader or anything like that, and, although selfish, I would want to erase peoples' memories of anything I've done or said that I now regret. At the same time, though, I could use it to make them forget anything bad they've thought of, such as suicidal or homicidal thoughts. You know how criminals usually become criminals because of an event experienced in their lives that had a negative impact on them? If I made them forget such things, then perhaps the crime rate will drop some.

Choice #1 sounds perfect for me. I'd like to control other people. Which sounds pretty awesome (and evil, too. xD)

Tough choice really.
I wouldn't choose the first, mainly because I wouldn't like the power to control people, I think I would grow power hungry and not stop myself.
The second would be nice, since I would love the ability to change things in my life and others lives as well.
The third would be useful, since if I did something stupid or I didn't like someone, I could just erase their memory for the better/worse.

Overall, I think I would choose the second, because I think it would be the one which I could help myself as well as others the most.

I'd choose the power of time manipulation. That way I can keep on going back if I make a mistake and correct it, until I don't ever make mistakes and become a 'perfect being' or something similar to that. I'll be able to invent things way before they were even thought of and create medicine to save peoples lives, and intervene to help people in need.

Number two - time control would just be the ultimate. The other powers seem a bit small-time in comparison. Technically, with the power to control time you have the power to manipulate memories by going back and actually changing the event.

I would choose Number Three-
so I can make people forget that I ever met them, or if I do something stupid (like I always do), I could make them forget.
When I stepped out into the bright sunlight from the darkness of the movie house,
I had only two things on my mind:
Paul Newman and a ride home.
