www.politicalcompass.org/test

For those that have never visited the above website before, it's a simple quiz asking for your beliefs on several political questions and at the end, it will plot where you stand on the political spectrum. I figured it'd be kinda fun to see where various PC members stand. Take the quiz and post your result here. :D

Mine took me by surprise since I've always considered myself very libertarian. Perhaps my strong feelings about abortion and sexuality were just enough to push me up into the Authoritarian zone. XD

I'm still decidedly centrist though. :P

I've drifted back toward the right economically a little since the last time I took this poll, but I'm more libertarian than I've ever been.

@Azure Revolver: It's a dynamic chart based on your social and economic political views. Economic left is a very regulated market, whereas economic right is essentially an unregulated economy. The other scale goes from fascism to anarchy.

Here's a chart borrowed from their results page:

@ Azure Revoler: I probably should have explained the graph a little, my bad. XD

The x-axis refers to economic policy. An extreme leftist on the economic scale believes that all people should have equal assets while and extreme rightist on the economic scale believes that people who have seized the opportunity to make money should have the right to have more than the people that are complacent in making money.

The y-axis refers to social policy. An extreme libertarian believes in personal freedom above all else while an extreme authoritarian believes that the preservation of the state is more important than the citizenry.

Some versions of this quadrant-style plotting will have a diamond cut out of the center with its corners on the halfway points of the four axes. The ideology in this region is usually called Centrism because of the tendency for the people in the middle to lean in no particular direction and make political decisions in a case-by-case manner.

Thanks. I understood what each Axis meant, as I read the explanations after and beforehand, but it didn't explain well enough what being on the left/right meant.

I'm disappointed in my result. I don't really care about the economic scale, but I consider myself far more libertarian than this.

Neat idea, Timbjerr. Anyway, I've done this test three years ago. I wonder if I've changed much? Nope, not really. I've always known my views are quite left-wing. However, probably my views on health insurance and drugs skewed me towards the right a liiittle bit more.

My result, has slightly surprised, me, I thought I'd be more Libertarian, but there we go.

I'm quite central, which is weird, but I'm still green!

Not too surprised there. I was expecting it to be a little more toward the middle... but still not too surprised. It's pretty much right on the mark of what I was expecting... albeit a little off.

My results...

Economic Left/Right: -4.00
Social Libertarian/Authoritarian: -0.15

Strange...it appears that I'm on the borderline of libertarian and authoritarian, while being a bit more economically left. Interesting...I guess it's roughly representative, but idk for sure.

Lots of green (Economically Left and Libertarian) ppls in here. :o
