From what I've heard, the majority's opinion on Dppt's graphics is that they're 'ugly and saturated'. What about you? What do you think of the many tiles used to make up the SInnoh region?
Personally, I found the grass to be far too saturated, but I liked the look of the mountains and the building and house tiles.
Diamond's lack of variety was a bit of a let-down, but I really liked it, particularly in Platinum (although the tropical-ness of Battle Zone irritates me, when it's level with Snowpoint City). Sure, BW is better, as is Hg/Ss, but other than the grass, there's nothing wrong.
I liked them, too. The first time I played a Sinnoh game (I think it was Pearl... I'm not sure as it was my sisters game), I was impressed with the graphics. I did, however, feel as if the screen was moving with the character and it made me feel dizzy... but once I got used to it, I no longer noticed it. I like B&W's graphics a lot better... but D/P/Pt weren't that bad the first time I played the games.

I never had a problem with them, I didn't realise they were a point of controversy... the fact that they were the first DS games meant that I was only comparing them to GBA, so they looked awesome to me.
Though they don't hold a candle to B/W, when they were first introduced, I thought they were pretty good. Even now, the graphics of the 4th gen games are attractive and don't look *all that* dated.

I liked the graphics. I think they were great at the time the game was released, but since then technology has advanced, and we now have BW. :D I really liked the graphics when you make poffins.

The graphics wehn you make poffins. Since you seem to think that it's incredibly advanced let me just say that would have been possible on the gba games aswell.

When I first played DP, it looked nice enough, but after Platinum, well, it went down to "How did this happen?".
The sprite and texturing work in DP leaves a lot to be desired, as well as the general quality of the 3D models. Everything looked like... a mess of colours.
Game Freak had more time to work with them in Platinum, and hence Platinum's graphics was a noticeable improvement to DP. Besides higher-quality artwork, we also have to thank more individual artwork for the world for the improved graphics - now it no longer looks like someone just copy and pasted entire buildings across the region!
Since pearl was my first game in the 4th generation,I think it wasn't half bad,if I had to rate it would be,HG/SS,D/P/PL,B/W while black and white wasn't what I hoped for it was still a bit cheesy, the graphics were rushed, but in D/P/PL they took a quality amount of time to get everything working smoothly, the features were what made them stand out then the rest, and is my honest cents.
I agree with the grass being a bit too saturated, though I don't really have a problem with the graphics. It's the first Pokémon game from Gen IV to be on the DS (unless I'm missing something?) so I'm not bothered by that too much. It's a good start leading off to how the graphics are now in B/W.

DPPt's graphics are like an improvement of the 3rd generation games. I think DPPt's graphics can also be called 2.5D or somethings. And yeah, its good. Especially in the Distortion World, I really, really like the camera views in there. Its epic :)
I do not have a problem with any of the graphics. Personally I am grateful for these graphics because they are a huge improvement over the third generation games
