@Kiyoshi the Polar Bear

I wish. Everyone in my family are noisy really really noisy people. So they might found out sooner then later. I once told a cousin about me being bisexual and she gossiped about me and that how my mother found out part of the story. Then I told her the rest of the story.
Thanks for the luck I'm going to need it.

Hah, I swear I've been trying to reply to this thread for the last day and a half. Every time I click into it, I see "Notifications: 2" or something like that and get distracted with VMs haha.

That could be taken more than one way. I'm now shipping QK x SR
I have no problem with this! ;)

Whilst we're on the subject of "bottoming" (I guess), I've noticed how a lot of people in the LGBT community have such a problem with the terms "top" and 'bottom," for the same reasons people have problems with the terms "man" and "woman of the relationship." Thoughts about this while we're on it?
I don't have a problem with the terms 'top' and 'bottom' at all, but then again I've never had them used about me in any context other than the sexual context. During sex, one person is the top and the other is the bottom, and that's just how it works so naming it just that doesn't bother me.

But outside of that, I wouldn't want to be referred to as the 'top', 'bottom', 'man' or 'woman' of the relationship I'm in. I have heard people say in the past (usually about something on TV) "oh, he's the woman" and I just reply "this is a gay relationship, the whole point is there are no women". I don't get offended by it as such, but it does grate on me.

Should I come out to the rest of my family. I mean mother and little sister knows but my grandmother, and my two aunts who I'm fairly close with don't know. My mom was like it would kill them if they knew. So basically I'm just in need of some advice.
Well first of all, saying "this will kill them if they find out" is really unfair to you. As a mother, she should know better than to put that kind of pressure on you. That really bugs me - I just thought that was relevant to say.

Second of all, it won't kill them. Their hearts will beat on. But I won't encourage you to do it if you have anxiety about it. I guess you have to figure just how much you value their opinion and if you're prepared to lose what you could lose by telling them. Honestly, in most cases I find people at least partially come around eventually so while it might be icy at first, I doubt it will last forever. And if all else fails, you still have your mother and your sister, so it isn't as though you'll be left stranded.

But if you're worried that they'll find out from someone else and you'd rather it come out via you, then tell them. I think above all it's important it happen on your terms so you're prepared for what will happen next.

Hey guys, uhm, can I ask a question/start a new topic? Maybe it's too personal or inappropriate, but I was interested in how some of you met your first boyfriend/girlfriend? How did it happen? How did you find out (s)he's gay/lesbian?
For me it was online on Youtube. Tbh I think meeting someone online first is easier but thats just me

I've had my share of romantic and/or sexual experiences starting in real life starting from when I was 18 years old to now, but the first person I actually considered a 'boyfriend' was online - and I met him right here on PokeCommunity :P. I don't know if I'd do it again, though - as much as I cared (and still do care) about him, online relationships are very challenged from the beginning and you have to make sure you're equipped to deal with the limitations it puts on your relationship.

And Altix, I'm a 21-year-old gay man lol. I feel like I'm standing up at Homosexuals Anonymous. "Hi, my name is Andrew and I'm a homosexual" lmao.

Ok, how old is everyone on this thread? What do they identify as?

I am 13. I identify as a gay male. :D
Nice to meet you. I'm trans myself. Welcome

I only knew I was trans when I met a trans person. I used to think I was just gay. I feel like it took a long time to find out for me. However maybe it takes others longer

we were classmates in grade school. we became an "item" after we accidentally kissed lol. honestly, i don't think that she (my first girlfriend) is a lesbian (not even bisexual), since we had that relationship when we were just 12-13 year olds and thus could've been influenced by our hormones. as far as i know, i was her first and only girlfriend so it could've been just a "spur of the moment" experience for her.

i'm Briar.

There is a trans person on Glee lol. She was in a couple of episodes last season (a physical male who identified as a girl) and performed on-stage as a woman. Then in the final episode I'm pretty sure she said she was transferring to McKinley High next year, so I'm pretty sure she'll be a series regular :P

well, it wasn't like a "with tongue" kind of kiss or anything like that, more of like a peck on the lips or something. :-P
we were standing really close together and she was about to give me a (friendly) peck on my cheek when i turned around to look at her haha.

Hello there, everyone!

I just wanted to introduce myself, as you may have noticed, my username is Vato (aka Vato!), I'm a fifteen year old gay male, and proud of being who I am.

I just wanted to ask something
How did you realized you are gay/lesbian/bi/trans/whatever other term you'd like to use ?
I always knew that I was different, but I only realized I am gay about a year ago when I fell in love with my best friend.

Yeah, it was platonic though, he's straight :(
Oh well, life goes on...

Anyways, I decided to post, to just, you know, make some friends n' stuff, I mean, what's the worst thing that could happen?

*Vato's computer explodes*

I can't even remember when I realized, lmao. ;; I've never been a 'boy', football and stuff like that was so boring. But back then I didn't replace that with 'stereotypical gay' (I literally cannot think of any its 5:45am give me a break) things, I replaced it with video games yayaya, that isn't really a point towards being gay but then when I got to Secondary school I realized I had no male friends except for one, who was clearly gay anyway; and all my other friends were girls so that's when people started asking/wondering. Then when I was like 15 and in year 10 this new boy started who I had the hugest crush on. ;-; And luckily for me he started dating my best friend so I could just invite her over and she'd ask to bring him and I'd just stare at him when he wasn't looking. And anyway from that point I did used to identify as Bi-sexual, but since then I've thought a lot more about it and I now identify myself as Gay huzzah! n__n I don't even know if any of that made sense.

tl;dr - hot boy > i crush on him > start to think about my sexuality > identify as Bi > think about it more > now identify as gay.

AND YES CONFIRMING THE TRANSGENDER MALE ON GLEE.

Hello all, its been a bit of time sense I was around these parts :3

I finalized my labels and names and am more positive and most comfortable with the orientations I fall in. Most of the confusion was with gender from going everywhere around the spectrum.

I'm Pansexual and I'm Genderqueer. I've been very open about it ever sense I started writing about it on tumblr, and I'm very happy, unlike other phases where I was happy for a moment, but then depressed for months.

I'd like to make this post a "reintroduction" post if you will, Hey all! <3

I figured out I was gay in the locker room when I was 12 years old :P. I think you can all imagine how I figured it out and why I had to rush to get changed before anybody saw me.

And yay, welcome Vato :D

And welcome back SchwarzRozen! I'm so happy to hear you're finally content with yourself. These beginning years are probably the hardest for us all, so I'm so happy you've gotten through the rough part. Now that you've figured yourself out, you can get on with the party that is life :D

Hm, when did I find out? I can't really pinpoint when Mr. Hormone said to the rest of my body to crave men emotionally, mentally, and sexually, but I can tell you when I picked up the term and really "said" it for the first time.

I said it to my best friend at the time via text, whom immediately called me and she had this gush fest of how happy she was for me. And then I went to my school's GSA, and then got real comfortable with the fact.

It's just that cute guys were cute and cute girls were unappealing and smelt weird.

._.

Please don't kill me girls are cool too and have great hair and oh gawd gonna go cry now brb.

I think I first realized I was gay in middle school. When hot boys where all like...yay. I had lots of boy crushes last year...like...10 XD one of which i was gonna send a valentine to...but I didnt have any money. perhaps that was a good thing?
Lol I decided neon green was a good color. ya know cuz the sites all evil and dark now. easy to read. I plan on (trying) starting a gsa at my new middle school. I may be murdered but....meh. I live in a town where there was a HUGE uproar when A gsa was being started in a collage. pretty sad. So chances are I will face resistance, but its not like im gonna be the only gay kid....right?

That was the single most worst decision of your life. ): Also you can change the theme you're using at the bottom of the main index. :P

And I forgot to add one small detail to my post about when I realized I was gay.

i may or may not have been caught looking at porn when i was 12.

Hey, folks. Got a question for y'all.

There are these terms for attraction that don't get used very much. Androphilia and gynephilia. They mean "attracted to males/masculinity" or, of course, "attracted to females/femininity." They're words that make a person not need to specify their own gender to describe their attraction. Here is an infographic.

Spoiler:

(Additionally, there are terms like ambiphilia for attraction toward intersex people, etc. etc.)

Oh, yeah. The question. Do any of you like this alternate system? See potential for its use? Think it's unnecessary?

Personally, I find it rather useful. Or I would if they were terms that were widely understood, but since they aren't it's kind of confusing if I tried to use them.

I think it's a bit unnecessary.. for example it's like calling people "homo-sapiens" instead of "people".. really they mean the same thing but there is just a term now for it.

Same with heterosexual female and androphilic female. Same thing so why not just use the more common one? My spellcheck is even telling me the word androphilic is wrong haha. Just my thoughts though. If you didn't want to announce what gender you are, you can just simply say "I like males/ I'm attracted to masculinity" and people would understand that more than throwing out this scientific term.
