this one was one of my first ideas since I began, while the first one has a name, the other two are unnamed.
The ideas behind these came from the concept of an armadillo knight (no not that flash game series), one thing I noticed is the lack of visual armadillos in the pokemon series, the closes being sandshrew. however these three don't really inherit the rolling-in-a-ball characteristic armadillos have, moreso their plate armoring.
The entire evolution family is suppose to be based off of knighthood during the feudalistic age, the first one being a page (the pokemon itself, named pageo, it's corny but still..)
pages are suppose to be the lowest level in the path of knighthood, basically at that point you are taught about armor handling and engage in mock sword fighting with wooden training swords with a knight.
pageo basically travel in groups usually ran by their second stage pokemon, they carve stones into the small daggars that they weild, these daggars break easily so more are always made beforehand, several of them actually craft the stone blades their higher stages use,
the second stage represents an actual knight it's skilled in the use of it's stone blade and guides a pack of pageos, which it trains itself, it's armor has become tough and can block any attack with it's stone blade and shield forehands.
the last stage, is actually suppose to be based off of the MMORPG (or DnD) paladin archetype, it's armor is not only stronger, but crystals started to form on it, the crystals give off a bright glow and generate a powerful aura around it. it also gives it the ability to use many special abilities such as being able to use Psychic, and even Recover and Heal Pulse. it acts as the prime leader of a group of it's second stage Pokemon, each with their own band of pageos following them.
I feel that it may have too many details on it, and it should probably be toned down a bit.
the entire family are rock/fighting types, fighting types generally cover pokemon centered around martial arts, some that involve plain brute force. despite popular belief martial arts doesn't just mean kung fu, swordplay also counts as the term basically means arts of war.
I did however considered making the last stage Steel/fighting however decided against it as there wasn't much metal-like about it.
