Being at school, i have heard some magnificent excuses and it never fails to amuse me some of the things people come up with. i read about one teacher once who said the best excuse he ever heard was two boys who told him they were late because they 'couldnt find the school cos it was too foggy" well thats interetsing XD hahahahahahhaha!

my favorite excuse is one my boyfreind told me which was really funny. they were supposed to be reading in english and he was writing to me; we live quite a way apart and only see eachother on holidays so we correspond by letters. ( he has no net acess.) anyway the teacher saw him writing anf got snarky and asked him why he was writing instead of reading, his response? "I am reading my heart and writing what is on it!" i thought tyhat was really good XD i have to try that one on my teacher some time...*giggles*....

so anyway...what are some good excuses you have heard?

I have made up some pretty good ones on the spot so many times, I wonder how I'm still in the top 15% of my class...XD

the most notable one in my mind was a Monday and a major project (the kind where you need a trifold board and all that) was due that I never even got past the research step. I told the teacher that I was out of town over the weekend at my uncle's beach house. My project was i the car and I took it out to look for something. I left it on top of the car (don'tyou jsut hate when you really do that) and it flew into the ocean as we drove off...

I think she really believed that one, but I still had to do a lecture to the class about the topic we had. but that was easy cuz i did the research anyways...

hahahhahha....thats a good one.

this girl in my class had to mke one up once we were suposed to have done an oral presntation on TV advertising and show a video of the commercial we chose. she didnt do it so she came in and said that she put the tape into the recorder but when she was watching it there was a blackout, the blackout really did happen actually, that was proven...but then she said when the power came back she tried to eject the video and the tape player ripped the inside of the tape and she couldnt bring it. the teacher just said 'well i havent heard that one yet. you have a 2 day extention. DO IT'. me i thought it was creative...XD

My friend tumble_weed once made up a whole list of really good excuses. Half of them wouldn't be allowed here, but others included "I was hit by a bus" etc. I need to look up the list.

"One reason why mathematics enjoys special esteem, above all other sciences, is that its laws are absolutely certain and indisputable, while those of other sciences are to some extent debatable and in constant danger of being overthrown by newly discovered facts."
Albert Einstein

"What science can there be more noble, more excellent, more useful for men, more admirably high and demonstrative than mathematics."
Benjamin Franklin

"Mathematics, rightly viewed, possesses not only truth, but supreme beauty – a beauty cold and austere, like that of sculpture, without appeal to any part of our weaker nature, without the gorgeous trappings of paintings or music, yet sublimely pure and capable of a stern perfection such as only the greatest art can show."

Well, my first and only bf (can't say it's really real, since I was only 13), when he broke up with me, he said that his family gets cursed or something when he's in a relationship. When I was silent on the phone, he thought I was sad, but I was actually happy; I disliked having to give up my Saturdays for some person. I'm not really the loving type ;)

I'm too much of a hard-working goodie-goodie to have to resort to weird excuses ;p (but despite of that I'm still in the very bottom of my class... strange how you're the top of your class in junior high, and the next year you fall rock bottom to the bottom of the class x.x)

but then once I've heard a rather mean but effective excuses back in junior high... a supposedly dead relative plus a few eyedrops as fake tears will get you through any assignment easily. However this is rather too low and disgraceful...

I've seen this one on TV. A girl was acting really inattentive and then the teacher asked a question. The girl had raised her hand automaticall, and the teacher asked her to answer. The girl really did not hear the question... so she said, "Sorry, my hand was up because I was drying my nail polish!!!"

I made up my best ones in middle school...mainly because I have actually been doing some homework in High school XD

I commonly use the excuse, "I didn't hear you tell us to do it" mainly because it is true, but the teachers always have a retaliation of, "you could've just asked your neighbor or looked on the board; it was written down there"

I've made up some pretty good ones that I can't remember because now I'm in 8th grade and want to get into a good high school so now I do all my work. But one of them was always "I left it at home" (Pretty lame) One time when I was late for school I had a loose tooth I said "I was walking to the subway station and I tripped and fell and my tooth became loose so I had to go home and then I had left my keys at home so I was locked out and I had to wait 15 minutes for my neighbor to get home so I could borrow her set of keys. I think they believed me. One time though some kid in my class raised both of his hands and waved them around and when the teacher called on him he said he was daydreaming and was one of those people at the airport who wave those things around. You know the people who stand in front of planes and walk backward. Don't know exactly what they do but it was pretty lame. Everyone laughed though.

Shining Arcanine, may I go to your place to check out your real Arcanine.

If What is the best Excuse you have ever heard? is now in the right forum than this thread needs to be moved to that forum (Mixed Voting Polls), however, if this thread is in the right forum than What is the best Excuse you have ever heard? needs to be moved back here since they work together.

LOL! Good ones.

Also, I believe they guide the planes. ;)

I never need an excuse so I don't have any.
