Chapter 1: Disturbing the Peace
Professor Green Oak sat on his chair, he took his lab coat off and hung it on the back of his wooden chair.
His sister, Daisy walked over to accompany his brother. She was holding two mugs of coffee and offered Green one. "I got this email message from the President just now."
"What did he say?" Daisy asked, her eyes filled with curiosity, yet in a serious way.
"Team Rocket's back on track... again." Green said with horror enveloping his words.
"For real?" Daisy said.
~
Maru! A deep voice called from behind a newspaper. The voice belonged to a man in his mid-30s. He had dark brown hairon it. He was wearing a really scrunched up blue shirt, with sleeves folded to his elbow, biege pants, and grey socks. He took up a clay mug with coffee in it and took a sip. Next to him was a letter.
Yes Dad? an annoyed voice called. Maru, an exact replica of his dad, only younger was wearing his pajamas, his hair in a messy state.
Mr. Smith left you a letter. Marus dad said. He put down the paper and walked over to his brown leather shoes. Maru sighed.
I can still wait until next year..." He walked slowly towards the table and picked up the letter. He ripped off the corner and looked at the green piece of paper inside
Maru, you have been selected to be one of the lucky trainers this year to start their Pokmon Adventure. Attached is an equipment list.
Best of Luck,
Mr. Smith.
Mr. Smith was Marus class teacher back in the academy. He was a nice man in his late 40s. He has full of jokes, yet serious. He had been working in the academy since the days it was built, and he selected Maru. Many had said that Mr. Smith was a very skilled Pokmon Trainer and did like young children.
Maru scratched his head, it was a habit his whole family head when they just waken up. He went back up the stairs and started packing with the list as a guide. He looked around his messy room. Everything looked dirty and filthy except for his skateboard that sat in the corner.
"Not a bad idea actually..." He said to himself. He put it to the side of his backpack. He double checked the contents of his bag and opened up his clost. He put on a white T-shirt with the Trading Card Game symbol of fire on, a red checkered shirt over it, still showing the logo, and baggy biege pants. He took a red cap off his hat display and put it on. The hat had the white Pokball logo on it and no hole on the back. He switched the cap to the other side. He walked down the stairs and towards the door and saw a small package. He unwrapped it and looked at the contents inside. Black fingerless gloves, a black wallet with red lining with a chain and a black and red canvas belt.
How could he have forgotten? He even forgot to bring his wallet! He put on the belt and gloves and hooked the end of the chain to his pants.. He stuck his wallet in his right pocket and took his newly acquired Nintendo DS and found a few cartridges to accompany it. He slipped into black sandals, hoping he didn't have to change into his trainers anytime soon.
It took Maru 10 minutes to get to the lab, and he was pretty shocked to see who else was chosen.
A boy and a girl. Maru recognized both of them. Sakura and Kage. Sakura was Maru and Kages love interest, but Sakura really never cared about love. Back in the academy, Kage and Maru were huge rivals, in battles, in intelligence, and most importantly, love. They almost acted like twins that don't like each other.
Sakura had shoulder length light brown hair tied with a light pink hairband. She wore a white spaghetti top with a pastel pink mini-skirt.
Kage gelled his hair up. His silver hair shone in the sunlight. He had a black hoody with SHADOW in silver letters. He had baggy black trousers and black shoes. Kage always wore black. His whole room was probably black.
"All the essentials are in your bag. All the extra clothing is with me; you can access them using your Poknav, which I am about to give you now." Professor Green Oak walked towards a table with 3 Poknavs, 3 Pokgears, and 3 Pokdexes. He took them all, using his arms as extra support and walked towards the 3 new trainers.
Here.
Not hesitating, Maru picked up the Pokgear he designed a while back when he was a kid. He could still remember it when his old teacher Ms Hampton gave them the sheet that was labelled; ;What color would your Pokgear be'.
Maru picked up his set, where the Pokgear was black and had red lining. Kage's one was the same except with silver lining. Sakura's one was white with pink lining.
Now I will hand out your trainer cards. Professor Oak said. From his pocket, he drew 3 cards. 2 were blue and 1 was pink. He handed each of them a card, Sakura getting the pink one. They all took out their wallets and put it in the ID slot.
And last but not least. The Pokmon.
3 Pokballs were handed to Green. Each one had a symbol embedded on it. Maru recognized these as the trading card game elemental symbols. Without hesitating, He leaned over and picked up the one with a fire symbol on it, Charmander. Kage knew that the only way he could be better than Maru was to pick the one with a water symbol, Squirtle. Sakura was forced to get Bulbasaur which really wasn't that much of a problem to her seeing her love of nature.
And well be giving out 5 Pokballs for you to start with. And also a Pokball holder for your belt. Maru took the Pokball holder and threaded it through his belt. He stuck the 6 Pokballs (including his Charmanders) and put them onto his belt. They shrunk and were held tightly in place. Maru was guessing they had a piece of magnet on each slot.
Your journey of a thousand miles begins with one step. Start now, Im expecting to see you 3 in the tournament next year.
And so it began. The 3 trainers headed up route 1, each with their new Pokmon companion by their side.
Well? Green said to his sister.
Team Rocket is now on the route of murdering Daisy murmured. The yellow smiley face on her green t-shirt was not describing here mood.
And those 3 trainers are our only hope, seeing as all the other trainers are on the cruise ship for the 15th Pokmon Battle Tournament. Green chuckled. He took off his labcoat revealing his black top. He still wore his purple pants a couple of years back. "Reminds me of my old days as a trainer."
"Where are you going?" Daisy questioned. She knew what he was thinking of. At the mention of old days, Green was thinking of a girl. Yellow. She turned around, seeing Green select his Pokmon from a small machine.
"I'm going to help." Green took out the Pokballs that rolled out and buckled them to his belt. 'That would be a Red thing to do... And if that's what Yellow likes, I'm going to do that.' he thought to himself
