I've seen this mentioned in a few FAQs. Using trick to give your opponent Moomoo Milk. Huh? What is the point of giving the opponent an item which gives them 100 HP? Am I missing something?

Cheers,

Moomoo milk needs to be used outside of battle to heal. Using trick this way is just a much weaker version of knock off... as I don't see what's the point of that except to get rid of your opponent's item.

Trick should be used with proper prediction, and with a choice band to limit it's moves. Not usually moo moo milk. It should be used against a tank, as a tank might not have any attacks that could be boosted by it, and tanks usually need to use many different moves in a battle. That's how trick should be used, not with moo moo milk.

Yup, I have a few pokes that are Trickbanders and it's well useful... the reason I ask is because of this:

http://db.gamefaqs.com/portable/gbadvance/file/pokemon_frlg_moves.txt

"Trickbanding/milking - Using Trick while @ Choice Band, so your opponent gets stuck with the CB. Fairly situational, and it can often work out to your disadvantage if you CB the wrong thing. Not to mention you lose a moveslot. Trickmilking involves Tricking Moomoo Milk onto your opponent. :)"

On the whole it sounds like the FAQ writer knows what he's talking about, so I was confused as to why he would suggest this, and go as far as to give it a nickname (either him or other bot players, anyway)...

frostweaver's explaination makes sence... I guess it could be useful in screwing up an enemy poke who's relying on an item... Still seems pretty pointless :)

Alakazam, in today's NB metagame, is in my opinion, the best Trickbander, because, well, you send in Alakazam, and 90% of the time, your opponent (if using a OU standard team) will send in Blissey. Sup, Trick? Sup Blissey who can do CRAP?

Anyway, Grumpig does it well too =]
