Which Pokemon have you found to be hard to raise?
Also why have you choose to stick it out and raise that certain Pokemon?

I have found Mankey to be quite a slow level climber but once she has evolved it should be worth it as I will have a strong fighting type.

I never liked raising the Aron line. It was always hard to level, mainly because it was effective for only like two gyms in the games its in. Not to mention it was slow, but when I got it into an Aggron it was a tank! I'd say definitely worth it.

I happened to be playing Sapphire and noticed this too. A lot of steel pokemon are like this, like Beldum.

Makuhita took forever to raise from lv8 to lv14 and it died in the brawly gym... (in a nuzlocke)

I'd say some hoenn pokemon are hard to raise because some of them require 1.64M XP to get to lv100 instead of traditional 1.05M or 1.25M.

I have just started playing Emerald and came across a Aron and thought I would give her a try, I have managed to get her to evolve into Lairon but it took a very long time and I had to use Exp Share. But I would say it's worth it and it's very cool/powerful looking pokemon.

Chansey. Don't ever try raising one for in-game. Unfortunately I have to, since it was given to me for a challenge...and what's worse? I can't evolve it. It's mostly defensive Pokemon that I have trouble with, now that I think about it. Shuckle, Bronzong, Cohagrigus, mainly the likes of those. Though I've never had trouble with Umbreon...hmm. Since this can apply to all games though, I'm going to move it to PGC.

For me it was Yamask and even into Cohagrigous. All it has was ghost type moves and will-o-the-wisp so it couldn't kill normal or audinos. Didn't teach is psychic till the post e4 with the TM, but i had aready found better pokemon.

It's mostly Pokemon that are defensive and have crappy offensive stats. ;o; Chansey, Umbreon etc. ABRA. OMG. Raising it to level 16 is a right pain. Since it doesn't learn any offensive moves until it evolves into Kadabra. I guess Ralts is a pain since you have to raise it until level 6 too. It learns Confusion then, soooo. ;-;

We're not talking about indirect exp gain here, right? (like daycare EXP. SHARE)

Mankey, really?

Anyway, you forgot the royal of difficult-but-worth-to-raise pokemon: Magikarp. Raising it to lvl20 is hell on handheld. Dunsparce and Feebas are good runner-ups for the position, too.

Purrloin/Choroneko. Her attack stats are... less than impressive to say the least. I always have to rely on switch ins or Assist just to get half way decent use out of her early in the game. The only time she's useful is in the Blaze Black/Volt White hacks where Assist isn't learned in lieu of Faint Attack. Idk... maybe if I catch a Meowth with Payday, an Umbreon with any dark moves, chain breed and get a baby with Hasty, it'll serve some use.

Deino/Zweilous/Hydreigon wasn't that difficult... if not for Exp. Share.

I guess it's Excadrill though; it took me forever for me to make him(her) catch up with the team because I have been replacing it with other pokemon I was trying to train xP

EDIT: Almost forgot about Larvesta. I got one by egg from that Ranger and raised it up. Couldn't forget how much of a nightmare it was.

Quite a few, I found Larvesta a pain to train (lol that rhymed), along with Mankey, Purrloin, Aron, Beldum, and for some reason Chansey.

Well, that's not of a big deal, since you get it at Lv. 4-5, you just need to send him and switch out those 5-6 times.

I've had an hard time training Crawdaunt in Sapphire. Darn.
At least it was very powerful at the Pokèmon League.

Yeah, shuckle was a pain to raise, but I didn't mind as I actually like defensive types. It's especially fun to pull off a Power Trick upset. ;D
Don't you think Hoenn deserves to be at least this beautiful?
