You can't say it won't be done, but we've all been late to class before.
I find it quit annoying that my Art class is on the other side of the school to where my ICT class is. It takes a lot longer to tidy up my paints and stuff from art and then walking all the way to my ICT class, then my teacher gets really mad at me and my friends who also take art for being late.
Doesn't help that after break or lunch, some of the kids in my class come to class late cause they lost track of time. (We have no bell at my school)

How often are you late to class and why?

The worst for me was freshman year of high school when I had gym on the first floor and english after on the opposite side on the 3rd floor. It was so hectic getting there, I was late the first 3 days of english. I eventually found alternate routes, but my main reason for being late in high school was getting from point A to B while being stuck behind herds of people, slow walking couples who couldn't stand to part for 45 minutes, and the whole "no running rule". It was a really big school.

In college though? I drive to school right now so I have to deal with traffic, construction, bad timing, etc.

At my new university I'll be going to this fall, my main reason will be: I got lost and I'm not familiar with the public transit times just yet.

I am rarely ever late to class. I'm usually early, actually. I don't remember having a problem with it in high school, except coming from band up to theatre, because the band room was ALL the way down the hill an you had to go around the two gyms and the construction of the new school. I remember when we walked down the actual hill. And rolled. Good times.

I think I've only been late to one college class, and it was because I accidentally set my alarm wrong. Luckily I was like, 3 minutes late and didn't miss much.

Also made an ass of myself at my first day off work. My alarm was set and didn't go off. Was supposed to be there at 9. Woke up at 9:11. :( No one really gave a crap though, but it's a shame too, because like I said, it was my first day and plus, I'm normally way early. Oddly enough, if I have nothing to wake up for, I'll sleep a long, long time.

I am almost never late to class and if I am, it doesn't matter, either the teacher isn't even there yet or they don't care. I used to be extremely paranoid about it. I hate it when a class is like across the school and there is traffic, but now I've given up on that and I just push whoever out the way or use my ninja dodging skills to get around them.

We're given at least 5 minutes to get to classes which I think is really stupid to be honest because our school is pretty big. But I'm never really late to be honest, unless it's lesson 4 which is after lunch since me and some friends go to the gol centre which is across from the school to play some football.
There was nothing. Followed by everything. Swirling, burning specks of creation that circled life-giving suns. And then we reached to the light.

I'm late for uh... most of my classes to be honest, lol. :x

It's mainly because I sort of can be; my teachers don't really care all that much since at this level they're pretty laid back and just leave what you want to do up to you and no-one else. I'll normally be late because I was either let out of an earlier lesson late, or just wasn't done doing whatever I was doing in the free time I had before the lesson and even then it'll never really be more than 5 or 10 minutes late. Most of the people in my classes are regularly late anyway so it's not like I'm an extreme case or anything silly along those lines.

An annoying thing is that one lesson will end at the exact same time as the next one will start, meaning that you have literally no time at all to move from one class to the next since the teachers work perfectly on the timetable. It's not a big deal for me since most of my lessons are close to each other, but some people have to walk from one side of the school all the way to the other in no time at all which doesn't work, and people tend to miss out or get moaned at for stuff that's really the school'f fault. ¬¬

In High School I was always late to class, because we had a huge campus (the size of a small college) and my classes were always on opposite sides of eachother. I got excused a few minutes by getting notes, but after a while I took advantage of that and hung out in the hallways with people. My excuse still worked, miraculously.

In college it's a lot easier, my classes are spread out throughout the day. If I'm late, which is rare because I have all the time in the world, it's still easy to weasel out of trouble.

Very often. Especially the first period, and the one after lunch. First period because I have to get up quite early in the morning, which I'm not really accustomed to doing, and I miss my bus quite often; I'm always shy by a few minutes or so due to a few interferences. The one after lunch, because well.. it's after lunch :|. I hardly find enough time to even gobble all my food down, and the crowd in the cafeteria doesn't help at all. And other periods for a whole bunch of other reasons.

I'm not late to class that often now that I'm in university. My buses usually get to campus a good 10-20 minutes before class starts so I have plenty of time to go wait outside the classroom or take a seat before lectures start. Since most of the buses I take only run every half hour or longer, if I miss the bus that gets me there on time I'll usually just skip the lecture rather than get there part-way through class. And otherwise I'm already on campus from an earlier class. I think I've only ever had one class that was ten minutes after an earlier one and across campus and even then I usually made it before the professor started lecturing.

In high school we had 5 minutes between classes but the building wasn't super large or anything so it wasn't hard to get there on time. I was late sometimes in the mornings but all my homeroom teachers were, iirc, pretty lax about that.

Well, it depends. I'm not often late to classes. And if I am it's never more than a few minutes.

I'm occasionally late too certain lessons due to previous lessons letting us out late. And I'm late to PE sometimes because I dont exactly make an effort too get there on time.. Though most people are late to PE so it's fine~

I'm late 99% of the time due to me preferring to go to my classes once everyone has gone. I hate crowds of people.

We're given at least 5 minutes to get to classes
That reminds me of my school's bell system.
At the end of each lesson, there's a bell, as well as a second bell which rings 5 minutes after the first one. Students who arrive after the second bell are considered late.

First of all, let me congratulate you on your epic Harry Potter reference. You are a cadillac among men.

Now that that's done with lol - I graduated nearly 3 years ago now but I can't remember one time when I was late for class. I was a nerd so the second the bell rang I bolted for the classroom and had my books out on my desk before the teacher got there. I still miss high school sometimes...

I'm not exactly a model student in terms of attendance, even with a 7-minute passing time (across five floors and a second building). The teachers don't really care if I'm a few minutes late as long as I pass the class. Sadly, the only class I'm not late to is first period, where the teacher is usually tardy instead.
