This is amazing. Basically, they inserted genetic code with a modified HIV virus into white blood cells and injected them back into patients. The cells then killed cancerous tissue. This is really great stuff.
If anyone has any idea: What happens to the modified white blood cells after they've dealt with the cancerous ones; could this be used as a vaccine (ie. prevention, rather than cure) in the future?

We don't tend to give people white blood cell transfusions because that has the potential for a lot of serious complications.
White blood cell transfusions could wreck havoc on a persons immune system and the other systems in the body. Its a little too...unpleasant for me to think about really.
