Remember those times when you had to depend on someone to pick you up and bring you somewhere. It could have been whenever you were little, or your car broke down, or perhaps even now. Sometimes, that person might have been a little late picking you up; sometimes they have an excuse, while sometimes they did't have an excuse.

Are you patient when you're waiting for someone to pick you up from someplace? Do you perhaps get testy? Does it depend on the situation and whether or not you have to be somewhere at a certain time?

I've grown to have a lot of patience, because my mom has been, and probably always will, late when it comes to picking me up from somewhere about 90% of the time. Sometimes I do get testy, but lately it's only when I have to be somewhere at a certain time and I can't be late.

Yes, I totally came up with this topic while waiting for my mom to pick me up from class.

Ohh sometimes. If I have something to occupy me I can be patient and wait. And it depends where I'm supposed to go also. I'd be mad if I was supposed to be picked up for like... maybe a concert or game or something but not so mad if I was getting picked up to go home.

This is one of my biggest pet peeves. I'm so punctual it's ridiculous and I hate being late myself, so if I tell someone i'm going to pick them up at a certain time, I make sure to be there on time if not a little earlier. Back during my senior year of high school, my friend would say she would pick me up at 6:45 and be at my house by 7:15 which sucked because that meant we would be late to class. So I stopped riding with her :x

If you make a point to pick someone up or say you'll be somewhere at a certain time, DO IT. I understand things can go wrong, but for the times you're just being lazy, it's kinda rude imo.

I don't usually mind, also considering how my friends are ALWAYS late in our appointments. After a while, I just started setting up the appointment time an hour earlier and went there an hour later, like they do. Problem solved.

But there was this time when I was 15 and my dad had to pick me up from a museum on a town I had never been before, and he was late 4 hours. I had no celly, so I just waited, and waited, and waited. And when he finally arrived, he told me 'sorry, I overslept.'
What the hell pops.
This is my December . . .

Eh, it depends. I don't particularly like it. But it happens, and I mean my friends are always late to places and my parents are very rarely on time when I ask to be picked up.
I generally try and be on time but if I'm a little late it wont matter because the people I'm going to meet are going to be later than I am (Which means I can be lazy yayyy)

It really all depends on the situation. If mum hasn't told me anything about picking me up I tend to get antsy, but I'll wait (except for one time when I walked home because she wasn't on time). But usually I'm told to wait for however long, so I'll wait. Either that or I'll stay because I'm sorta lazy.

It's even more annoying back when I had to stay back after school (my school hosted TAFE, which I did) and I would need to use the bathroom or something and couldn't because it was late and they shut everything down. :(

Before my parents started making me walk to school (which I severely resented at the time - when I was 14 - but have now come to appreciate in later life), a friend of my mum's would pick my brother and I up for school... and I would HATE it when she was late. I would be pacing around the house muttering "When's Paula going to get here? When's Paula going to get here?" like a crazy person until she got here. Despite the fact that we would never be late for school, the fact that Paula (who I don't think is going to ever read this) was frequently late really, really annoyed me.

But that's about it really... I like to be punctual but have loosened up since my pre-14-year-old self, or so I like to think!

I haaate being late to things, so I don't like relying on other people. Even if I can blame that person for being late, it still annoys me. But since I like to get to places so early, I get really antsy when someone gives themselves a small buffer time for things like that. I've told that I get really annoying, lol.

I'm generally very, very patient when someone's taking the time out of their day (no matter how much of an impact that has on their day) to transport me somewhere. Every now and then I get annoyed if I'm waiting there for too long, but these days most of the places I go and require transportation from someone, I transport myself. At times I've waited for 2-3 hours for someone to pick me up.

I don't like relying on others for means of transportation, because I find that to be unreliable for the very reason that they could run late, they could not come at all, and other things. I find that I'm usually always late when I have to rely on someone to bring me somewhere, and I'm the one to get affected by it. I've been on the wrong end of that one too many times and I've learned its best to just not ask someone for help at all in those situations. My dad and even my closest friends tend to be late all the time when I rely on them for a ride. It's best if I just find another way to get there. Whether it means borrowing the car from my father, walking, or resorting to the dreaded public transportation. I'd much prefer them all to having to wait for someone who may not come. I don't have much trust in people when placing my needs for them to deal with.

But if someone tells me that they're going to be there to pick me up at X:XX and they aren't there, I will call them at X:XX to see why. I'm someone who, when someone relies on me for rides, I plan to be at the place they're at by the time I tell them that I'd be there. I find it rather rude to have them waiting if I designate a time, and I find that if I designate a time, it gives me the initiative to be there by the time I provide.

Well I don't usually ask people to pick me up from anywhere, but I do sometimes get annoyed when people are late to meet with me somewhere. I generally don't have very good patience cause where we'll be meeting won't be in a very comfortable place. And I will generally be slightly late myself, which makes them even more late. So yeah. I don't have the best patience when it comes to waiting for people. But just like anyone, I love it when I get somewhere and the person I'm meeting is already there. :P

9 times out of 10 if I'm getting a ride, it's going home. I don't need to be there at any specific time. My roommate can show up whenever he wants, as far as I'm concerned. As long as I don't have to walk, I don't care. :p If I think he's taking forever I'll call him, and most of the time I didn't realize he didn't leave the house right away.

Every once in a rare while I'll actually have to be somewhere at a certain time and if I think they're running late I'll get really nervous about it. But it all works out in the end.

SInce I didn't have a car in college, it wasn't my place to complain if one of my friends was late picking me up since I relied on them a lot. However, when waiting for our city buses to come pick me up, that was a completely different story if they ended up running late...

I have been kept waiting on more than a few occasions. I try not to get mad, despite being notoriously impatient.

If they make me wait they better not come during a good point in my day dream or I'll be slightly annoyed if I can't remember it by the time I'm in sitting in the car (Annoyed at myself, not them but annoyed nonetheless). I can day dream for long periods of time so waiting doesn't bother me at all.
