I'm planning to fix up this laptop soon. I need to buy 2 x 2gb for the ram and a new LCD screen for it. I plan to get a new HDD for it sometime next year. What do I need to know for buying this ram stuff and if there would be a program that would give me the extra info about it that I may need...

My desktop is pretty much set for a while. I don't need anything extra for it yet. I know I need an LCD screen for my laptop. I just wasn't sure where to look. A site that I checked out before said I would need to remove the LCD screen first or something similar to find what kind of screen I needed. At first I was looking for a program that could hopefully tell me this information, but instead I'll just take the screen out. And yes I am clueless. I know that the laptop uses DDR2 and only has 2 slots for ram. That's why I was planning on getting 2 x 2GB for my ram. Although on newegg when I saw this:

I got confused and was wondering if I was supposed to get one from a certain manufacturer.

You do realize that...

taking apart a laptop and replacing parts is no joke? Most of the time something like RAM or HDD is easy to replace, but other things can be very tough to replace. Have you replaced screen for your laptop before?

The site that I recommend that you check out is ifixit. The information you really need for screen replacement is usually on back of the LCD panel. I recommend you look at guides like this http://computershopper.com/laptops/howto/replace-your-laptop-screen. (Don't just read one, read multiple)

DDR2 doesn't really tell me much other than DDR2. There are different speeds of DDR2 out there. Which one? One way you can tell is to look at the RAM that is currently on your laptop.

Your link doesn't really show much other than newegg's search options.

I understand that. It was just what I saw there that confused me. The screen has only been broken once. That was the site I went to that mentioned taking something apart.

I found this in the online manual.

I believe this site has what I'm looking for concerning the LCD screen.

I think I have everything I need to find the specific ram parts. I didn't a certain manufacturer listed though. Would the manufacturer for the ram matter?

According to the image of the manual you posted, your laptop supports a maximum of 4GB of RAM, using 2 2GB DDR2 SO-DIMM modules. According to the CPU-Z screenshots, you are currently running 1GB of RAM using 2x 512MB PC2-5300 SO-DIMM modules, manufactured by Samsung. It is non-ECC, nor is it registered or buffered.
It's usually a good idea to get memory upgrades from the same manufacturer as your current modules. (although really, the brand doesn't matter all that much)
Crucial and Kingston are two well-known and reputable vendors of memory modules that I know of.

Also, in order to have dual-channel functionality, both memory modules must be identical in specifications.
