WELCOME BACK TO THE KANTO REGION.
OVERVIEW: PR:TK is a new twist on the FireRed and LeafGreen games. While it is based heavily on the plot of both games, don’t be surprised when it takes a dark turn and completely rocks your world. Please don’t say, THIS ISNT BASED ON FR/LG! THAT DOESN’T HAPPEN! Because I will hunt you down and kill you, nahh just kidding. (No really I’ll do it.) The first major change is of course the characters; you’ll see a new take on the characters, including names and clothing and stuff, sorry if that bothers you but you’ll have to live with them. No matter how crazy and unlikable they be. :3
RATING: This fic has been rating PG-13 for mild language. Actually no, ignore that. There might be even more language, I have been known to raise the profanity level here and there. Some Adult themes here and there and minor gore in the later chapters. You have to remember I can’t cater to everyone’s comfort zone, you have been warned.
DISCLAIMER: I do not own or claim ownership to any of Nintendo’s rightful legal property, including, but not limited to, fictional characters, situations or places.

Adventure Begin! A Pure White Beginning!!
Adventure Begin! A Pure White Beginning!!
||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||||
“In the beginning there was merely flatness. Gray water, not yet interwoven with light and life, a spread of lifeless hydrogen and oxygen.
In the beginning there was only sky and sea. Both hemispheres completely empty, two voids forever sucking at each other’s boundaries. For millennia, there was only water and air. Clearness in all forms.
Then came the meteor.
A shining comet, a hammer of blazing rainbow light shrieked through the peaceful sky and tore the tranquil blueness in two. Somewhere in the vast, open ocean, the comet landed and pierced the surface of the water, sinking slowly to the very cradle of life, the fissures that lead to the center of the newborn earth.
The cracks that led to hell.
With the impact came the energizing push. The comet split in two at the utmost depths, revealing a crystal, a massive mineral compound that glowed faintly in harmony with the blackness of the void, pulsing and undulating until blackness reached up to meet the color, and where energy met nothingness, an explosion came forth.
From the bowels of the sea, the legendary beast awoke with a blast rocked the world, splitting open the stomach as the earth titan came forth and poured its magma contents, cooling and rapidly rising to the surface, a hundred million years of construction sped on by the legendary beasts.
A landmass began to form.
Ashes and magma over the course of seven days. Ashes and magma and then the clouds that parted for sunlight.
Ashes and magma.
Ashes and magma and sunlight and sea.
When the peak of Mt. Moon was completed, the last blast of fiery earth destroyed the crystal heart, severing it into three pieces that were swept away by the sea of time, never to be seen or to create wondrous things ever again.
And that, children, was how our land came to be.”
-Guardian of the Pokemon Tower, Mr. Fuji, age 78

“GOOOooOOOOd morning, Kanto! It’s turning out to be a beautiful day, Viridian County! Today is Friday, September 3rd, and it’s currently seven a.m.! Temperatures are starting out in the early sixties and rising slowly, wind speeds are rising at an alarming rate and a very low humidity rate! Keep those cozy clothes handy, fall is here and the temperatures are starting to drop-”
The snooze button was mashed with vigorous, angry force channelled through a sleepy palm that was retracted back under the covers, cutting off the radio announcer’s annoyingly chipper voice. Shifting and groaning noises came from the bed, until red sheets were thrown off and the figure previously sleeping hauled itself out, one foot at a time, and one centimetre of distance a second until they found themselves in front of the bathroom mirror. The gaping cabinet mirror revealed a stately row of orange pill containers, cologne bottles and tooth paste. The same hand that killed the announcer’s voice reached out for the half-full tube of tooth paste and carefully spread it across their toothbrush, brushing and then cupping water from the sink to wash the toothpaste out.
The open mirror was closed with a bang, and reflecting glass showed the thirteen-year old face of Riku Cloud Kimura. Reddish, caramel brown dusty hair, jagged at end to create his fo-hawk. Haunting amber eyes, the color of a wolves’, eyes that were just waking up, still. A placid, peachy-toned face that wasn’t fully conscious, body wearing a white, sleeveless shirt that read; PALLET BASKETBALL. His room was air conditioned, but Riku couldn’t’t feel the coolness until he exited the shower twenty minutes later, hair soaking and scalp freezing. He had no time to adjust his hair, not today. Today was a big day, and no matter how much vanity his hair demanding of him, he would not let the dead protein atop his head make him late.
Today was a very important day.
He combed his hair with his hand, which managed to give it its basic fo-hawk shape back, before pulling on a pair of dark blue jeans cuffed at the bottom and stepping into a pair of white and red Jordans left loosely tied. He put on a crisp grey tee with two white-gloved hands making a diamond. He finished off his outfit by putting on a red letterman jacket with white sleeves, red cuffs at the wrist with white stripes matching the white stripes hemmed at the bottom of the jacket, a large darker red P bordered in white on the left side on his chest and several white X’s overlapping on the right side. He adjusted his white watch around his left wrist, making sure it was visible over the sleeve and ruffled his hair a bit before putting on his red and white snapback hat on backwards. The hat had a flat, white bill and white letters reading Tauros with a darker red Tauros head below. It was his favourite basketball team, the Fuschia Tauros. He looked in the mirror, the round diamond studs on his ears shining brightly.
He'd been preparing, like the other two from his school, for the travel ahead of his. He ranked third in his entire class when he took the PT Aptitude Test just before the school year ended which meant he would represent Professor Oak in the Indigo League Challenge. He shocked the entire school; for some reason there was some image of him being some dumb kid who ditches class to be with friends, just because of the way he dressed and the sports he played. He didn’t mind though, because when those test scores were announced everyone shut up. The two trainers above him were probably already at the lab, he didn’t know who they were exactly but if they were that smart they must’ve gotten up early to get the starter they wanted. He had been getting exercise and figuring out how to pack his bag properly. He looked that up and found the optimum way to get as much as possible into his outdoor backpack... and then he tried to put it on last night, and discovered it was well past his weight limit. Oops. His mother passed by when the bag dragged the boy down to the floor and kindly reminded him he only needed supplies to reach the next town, not to get all the way around the region. He'd spent a few hours redoing it once, and twice, and the third time he'd decided it was the best fit between his strength and the stuff he'd chosen to bring.
He hefted the bag up, it was a good comfortable one with fat straps, "The North Face" was written in white on the grey and black bag. With a last look around the room, making sure he hadn't left anything trailing that needed to get packed away; he nodded, and headed out the door, closing it behind him without a backward glance.
His mother entered the kitchen with a laugh at her son’s antics, she could hear Riku shuffling through his room for supplies. She was a pretty woman, in her early thirties with dark brown hair, chocolate eyes and a bright pink apron. As she began placing pancakes on the table, the reality of her son leaving on a journey by himself reentered her thought process. She sighed.
‘What if he gets hurt on this journey? What if he gets mixed up with the wrong people? What if this is too much for him? What if… I never see my baby boy again?’
This cloud of negative thoughts plagued her mind to the point of tears which slipped down her soft, pretty face and onto the pancakes. She attempted to wipe away her tears once she heard footsteps approaching her. It was her son, much to her surprise. However, she failed in her attempt to mask her watery eyes.
“Mom, are you alright?” Riku asked in a very concerned tone.
“Yes, but it’s just...” she looked down with a sad look in her eyes before fixating them on her worried boy, “It’s just I don’t want you going alone.. I wish you would stay here and be safe, but I know I can’t stop you from doing what you want to... Just, it‘s not going to be easy for you..” she sighed.
“Mom...” Riku gave his mother a hug and looked up to her with smile and the energetic, reassuring eyes only a child can have, “I’m not going to be alone, I’m going to have my Pokemon with me. I know this isn’t going to be easy, but I want this, I’ve been waiting for it...”
The two shared another warm embrace before Riku headed to the table and dipped a spoon into a small container of some sort to scoop up a large amount of its contents. The conversation seemed to erase any doubt and fear the boy’s mother held in her mind, and she couldn’t help but to smile now. The doubt she had in her mind stemmed from fear that Riku might not be ready for a journey, but this was proved to be wrong. Her son is more than ready for a Pokemon journey. She smiled, tears at the edge of her eyes as she watched her son stick an entire spoonful of nutella into his mouth and grin with joy.
‘My son.. A Pokemon trainer.’ She giggled with the thought as she turned to see his bag on the counter, she opened it then looked down at her necklace. Around her neck was a red and gold plated pendant, and it looked very rare and valuable. Perhaps a treasure from her younger days? Still, she ripped it off, gave it a kiss, held it to her heart, and put it in the bottom of Red’s bag. This was no doubt her way of wishing her son luck on his Pokemon journey.
Red strode out of the kitchen over to his mother, feeling content with the spoonful of nutella and hung his red, wooden diamond pendant around his neck. It had no sentimental value or anything, he just liked the way it looked.
“So mom, am I all set to go?” He said eagerly and looked up to her.
“Yes, yes you are.” She lightly bit her fingers which were curled up into a fist by her mouth. With a smile she hugged her son and watched as he left the house.

Inside Prof. Oak's Lab.....
A rather elderly man was examining something under a telescope. A young girl next to him, her hair was a pale, caramel brown, similar to Riku‘s. The blue bow in her hair stayed steady as she ran around helping the elderly professor. Her deep blue eyes watching the professor's every move. She wore a white tank top with blue stripes going horizontally across the top. The lighter sky blue sweater she wore over the tank top reached just a couple inches above her waist, with a small hood and shining brown buttons and dark blue tassels flailing around. While the bodice of her top clung tightly, outlining the girl's bust, hugging the narrow abdomen of her upper hour-glass shape, completely taut as the eyes traverse downward, until the hips, where it begins to fan out into a darker blue short skirt, falling about mid-thigh. Her white sandals clung to her ankles in fine straps with nice blue designs on them; her white little purse with a matching blue bow was proving to be a hassle to hold close to her, held together by a nice beaded string clinging to the girls’ fine shoulders. Both were obviously lost in thought, not minding a few of the Pokémon that were running around his lab.
One was a small lizard like Pokémon. Its blue eyes glowed due to the light coming from the small fire on its tail. The skin on its body was orange colored, while the skin on its tummy and lower half of its Tail where a nice tan color. Charmander was the name of the Pokémon, but it seemed a little calmer than its playmate, Squirtle. It resembled a miniature blue turtle with a large shell on it. It would juggle things and toss them around at Charmander. Every now and then, it would tap the professor‘s shoulders and quickly pretend it had nothing to do with it. On a nearby table, a large bird Pokémon was keeping an eye on two, as the owner clearly had no time to watch them himself. The large bird had a long mane of red and gold feathers that spanned the entire length of its back. Its feathers were a nice brown, while its belly, under its wings and lower face where a lighter tan. Its large red Tail fanning out, a Pidgeot.
Its dark eyes followed Charmander and Squirtle around, and it remained still during the entire process. However, it flew over to Squirtle once the mischievous creature began gnawing at the leg of the table. The table had many thick books on it, and the result would not be good for Squirtle if the mass of books fell on it. Luckily, Pidgeot swooped the miniature Pokémon up by its arms by grabbing them with its sharp talons. Pidgeot flew over to the owner, getting his attention by dropping Squirtle on the space next to him. He took his eye off the telescope to pat Squirtle's head,
"Squirtle, were you up to no good again?” The man smiled to assure the Squirtle that he wasn't mad.
“Don’t worry professor; once she starts traveling with me she’ll loose that mischievous attitude.” The young thirteen year old girl smiled reassuringly at the Squirtle. The professor nodded and handed her a small red device followed by a Pokéball. The happy girl bounded off and the professor went back to work. He picked up Charmander, holding it in his right arm. This man, Professor Oak, did not seem to mind the small creature. Beneath his lab coat was a light purple buttoned shirt tucked into his brown slacks, giving off the appearance that he is very orderly. The professor walked back to the table with two Pokéballs, "Back in the ball you go, it's time for a rest. Why can’t you be as calm as Bulbasaur here." He said, looking into one of the pokeballs to see a sleeping green pokemon.
The Charmander knew what to do, so Oak didn't have to, it touched the grey button on its subsequent Pokéball. Oak then placed the Pokéballs onto a machine with six slots, pressing a button to activate it afterwards. Pidgeot flew over to a table near the Pokéballs to keep an eye on them, but if fell asleep, thinking they were safe. The professor didn't seem to mind much.
Right outside Prof. Oak's window was a snow white haired haired girl crouched right outside the window near the machine Professor Oak placed the Pokéballs on. Her hair reached down to her upper back. Her eyes were a nice green. She was wearing a nicely fitting black, sleeveless top. The nice black top had a pink bow on her chest, her white shorts ended at her upper thigh and the end was embroidered with pink frills. She wore tight black socks that reached to mid-thigh leaving about three inches of space in between the socks and her shorts. She reached into her pink and black boot, retrieving a Pokéball. When she opened it, a short yellow Pokémon appeared. Its eyes seemed to be closed shut. Despite this, it had no trouble seeing. It moved its Tail and looked up at its master, "Abra." It said.
The girl stared with distain into the lab, but made sure there was nothing that could see her. She had a look of uncertainty and fear, "Abra, Teleport me into this building, but behind that machine right there." She pointed to the machine, looking one more time to make sure Pidgeot was asleep. Abra also looked in to see where he was going to teleport. Abra nodded, and the girl touched the Pokémon's shoulder. In a white light, they disappeared, only to arrive behind the machine.
She commanded Abra to keep its position. She peeked her head out from the side of the machine, making sure for the third time that no one was there. She reached her hand onto the machine to the Pokéball slot, where one was being held. She picked it up, but the guardian Pidgeot awoke to see the robbery.
"Pidgeot!" It exclaimed to warn Professor Oak. Pidgeot flew over to where the girl was to try and trap her, but she acted quickly by grabbing Abra's shoulder. It teleported without being told to. Once she was outside, she began running as fast as she could. Pidgeot didn't bother to wait for Professor Oak to open the window, so the Pidgeot crashed through the window to chase after the girl.
The girl was being careful about how she moved, she knew that Pidgeot was trailing her, but to no success for Pidgeot. She had already managed to find a place to hide in an alley way behind a dumpster. She could clearly see Pidgeot in midair turning its head to search for her, but she was well hidden. She waited to walk out once the bird Pokémon flew back in the direction of the lab. Her trail was completely lost, so she made haste to exit the town.

He didn’t know what it was, the music from his headphones or the thoughts about pokemon training running through his mind, but Riku couldn’t help but smile the entire way he walked to Professor Oak’s. He was about to get HIS own pokemon, about to start HIS own journey, about to leave HIS footprints all over Pokemon Trainer history!
“HOLD IT!” A demanding, feminine voice yelled out. Riku couldn’t help but fall flat on his face, anime style. He quickly spun around and took off his white headphones, leaving them to hang around his neck. The boy clad in red froze, trying to process the fact his sworn enemy was walking down the hill towards him. The one and only person he had a problem with in his entire life, it had to be her. The girl was Christy Miyano, his childhood rival and the bane of his existence.
“Where are YOU off to?” Christy raised an eyebrow at Riku.
The boy sneered over at her, “Why would you care? And what’s up with your hair? Looks like a Pidgey made a nest in it or something…”
“How dare you!” Christy shrieked, indignant. Riku only smirked and flapped his hand open and closed, impersonating his rival.
“How daaaaare you!” His voice came out whiny and squeaky. Christy proceeded to chase him around the road, her hand bag doubling as a smacking device. When she finally gave up she fixed her blue bracelet and checked her blue painted nails before she asked again, “No really, where are you going?”
“To Professor Oak’s! What’s it look like? I’m gonna get my Pokedex.” Riku wiped any dirt that was present on his new jacket, he didn’t want to make a bad first impression.
“YOU…getting a Pokedex?” Christy proceeded to puff out her cheeks before laughing sadistically. Riku stood there, a completely neutral look on his face and proceeded to walk by the girl. She immediately stopped laughing and Riku turned around when sirens were heard, the young boy and girl immediately leaped to either side of the road as a line of police squad cars zoomed up the hill and towards the lab. Christy looked at Riku, who’s face became quite serious and they both dashed after the cars.
Riku and Christy arrived at the lab to see police and yellow lines that blocked access into the vicinity. Pidgeot flew inside and perched itself upon a table near Professor Oak, who was talking to police officers. Pidgeot looked down with an unhappy face, sad about its failure.
"I was just doing some research on Pokémon and Human relations when I heard Pidgeot speak in a worried voice, which drove me away from my research. By the time I arrived at the scene, Pidgeot broke the window to trail whoever stole the Pokémon. I obviously didn't see who did it, and I guess Pidgeot here couldn't track them." Professor Oak's voice sounded a little saddened by the loss of one of the starter Pokémon.
"Do you at least know which Pokémon he stole?" The blue haired uniformed lady sternly asked, writing down whatever Professor Oak was saying.
"Bulbasaur, a grass Pokémon. Sorry that I'm unable to provide further information."
"Don't worry; we'll try our best to find the stolen Pokémon." The police officer exited the laboratory to speak to a few other police at the entrance. Meanwhile, Riku and Christy walked up to the entrance. Christy took the lead, "Excuse me, what happened here?"
"This is a Crime Scene Investigation young lady. A Pokémon was stolen, so no one without proper access is allowed in."
"Would a Pokémon previously owned by the Professor himself count as access? As you can see,” Christy clicked open the capsule in her hand to release a small blue turtle, “we have a Squirtle with us. Prof. Oak gave me this Pokémon."
"Well, just as long as it isn't stolen. But to make sure, I'm going to have to escort you two."
Christy agreed to the police officers logical demand. Both Riku and Christy trailed behind her into the lab. Inside, Professor Oak was still grieving about the stolen Pokémon, but he was reassuring Pidgeot that it was neither of their fault. He looked at the officer as she stepped in, "Oak, the trainer with this blue Pokémon right here claims she received it from you. Is this true?"
Professor Oak was joyous to see Squirtle and Christy, "Yes, she was one of the graduates from the Academy.".
The officer exited the lab once again. Before Oak could ask any questions, Christy asked her own.
"So, a Pokémon got stolen? Which one?"
"Uh, poor Bulbasaur. I don't know if the trainer who stole it is going to be abusive or not, and that's what I'm worried about most."
"How did it happen?" Christy asked, as she let Squirtle down to go interact with Pidgeot. Riku remained silent.
"He or she somehow managed to get inside the lab, teleportation most likely, and stole one of the Pokéballs from the healing machine over there." Professor Oak pointed at the machine, which still had lone Pokéball on it, "Pidgeot tried to chase whoever stole it, but wasn't fast enough.” Oak sighed, but his eyes shifted over to an attentive Riku, "You brought a guest? Wait, I know you." Professor Oak turned to his desk full of scattered paper work, and finally pulled out a tan colored folder. He opened it and attatched the first page with a paper clip was a picture, a sort of mug shot, or Riku with his signature bright smile. “Riku Cloud Kimura, age thirteen, ranked 3rd in his class, scored highest in Pokemon Battling Strategy…” Professor Oak continued to read the file, leaving Riku a bit uneasy.
"Yeah well here’s here to...." Riku intervened before Christy could speak,
"I want that last Pokémon." Riku pointed, looking over at the Pokéball, then Oak. Christy sweatdropped, she can’t believe how blunt he was being, the boy showing no signs of regret at his lack of sympathy for the grieving professor.
"Well seeing the circumstances, I can’t just hand this to you. There is a third student who scored second among you three, until they arrive I can’t give you the starter. It just wouldn’t be fair."
Riku bit his lip, the professor opened his mouth to say something else when he was interrupted by a loud crash, causing all three to turn. They found a feminine shadow crash through the window and land on the laboratory floor,
"Really?! There's a perfectly smashed window already, did you have to break another?!" Professor Oak shouted. The girl had nice brown hair and bright green eyes, she had a Pokéball latched on to the thin belt she had around her waist. The Pokéball held a curious Bulbasaur inside.
"Come on Professor Oak, just let him have the Pokémon. Give him a chance!" The green eyed girl yelled out,
"That girl...!" Prof. Oak whispered to himself.
"Who would've thought that the famous Pokédex I had to steal was in the same place as the Bulbasaur I had to steal!" The girl chuckled, Prof. Oak took one large step forward.
"You stole my precious Bulbasaur!" The girl nodded and took a few steps forward towards a table holding a small chamber of some sort protected by a glass dome, inside were three small computer devices. Each one a nice crimson color, she picked up the dome and grabbed one.
"The legendary device that records all the adventures and Pokémon battles of specially selected trainers...It looks like the info we got about you is true!" The girl released another Pokéball she had, from the smoke protruded a human-like Pokémon with large lips and blonde hair wearing a red dress.
"Jynx, Icy Wind!!" The girl yelled out, the Pokémon puckered its lips and blew out a large field of ice-cold wind. Freezing the laboratory floor, and knocking out Pidgeot and Bulbasaur.
"Gah! Pidgeot’s weak against ice type attack!" Prof. Oak yelled as the flying type desperately tried to evade the fierce wind that whipped around inside the laboratory. Riku clenched his fists,
"How'd you get in with all of the police outside?!" The boy yelled, shielding his eyes with his arm. The girl merely chuckled,
"Ha-ha! I have my Drowzee using Light Screen to make it seem like this lab is completely safe and normal." The girl chuckled; Prof. Oak glanced over at the lone pokeball on the table a few feet away. A small lizard inside, its flaming tail whipping around. The elderly man pushed off the ground and made a dash for the pokeball.
"Power Snow." The girl said without much emotion as the Jynx released a powerful gust of snow, causing the professor slide across the floor and hit the wall. The professor was knocked out,
'What Pokémon is in the ball that Prof. Oak wanted to get? Is that the final starter, Charmander?' Riku thought to himself and looked over at Christy who was hugging her Squirtle, she knew a water type wouldn’t do much and she didn’t want her starter to get hurt. Professor Oak wouldn’t want that either, if that thing was in fact Charmander then that would be his only chance at stopping this thing.
"How come you want to steal these things so badly?!" Riku shouted as he slowly made his way across the lab,
"Well I just want to settle some old business, luckily I've got friends to lend me some Pokémon." She said motioning towards her Jynx, Drowzee and Abra that was hovering besides her. Riku nodded with disgust, he glanced over and pushed off the ground with one foot. He used the momentum to slide quickly across the frozen floor,
"Powder Snow!" She pointed again, Riku continued to slide. He avoided the worst of it, leaving only the hem of his jacket and cap frosted. He snatched the lone capsule from the table and stood up. He looked inside to see a fuming lizard,
"You're mad because your friend got stolen. Aren't you? Well then...!" Riku shouted as he threw the ball on the floor. The ball released the brave lizard Pokémon, Charmander. The fire type flex his muscles and snorted out small embers.
"Jynx use Pound!" The girl shouted as the Pokémon dashed towards Riku and Charmander, fist first.
"Ahh!" Riku and Charmander managed to dive out of the way in different directions as the Jynx punched the floor, shattering it.
"Let's see. Fire type....Ember!" Riku snapped his fingers, remembering the most basic fire attack. The Charmander lashed its tail at the enemy, launching multiple fire balls. The attack slapping the pokemon across the face and searing its cheek, forcing the girl the retreat. She quickly recalled her Drowzee and Abra as well, which were sitting on the window sill.
Outside was a crowd of spectators, media, and police officers. Their faces were in shock as the lab changed from normal to being frozen with broken windows in a few frames of static. The media held up their cameras as the police officers ran towards the lab.
"Oh no you don't!" Riku quickly ran after the girl, Charmander giving chase as well.
"Wait, Riku!" Christy yelled out for him, but instead slipped and hit her head on the floor. Swirls in her eyes she lay there besides her Bulbasaur.
As soon as the police officers began to run towards the lab, another windows was broken. The cameras zoomed in to see a girl crashing through a window, a small green grass type right behind her. The cameras panned out only to quickly zoom in on a young boy, dressed in red, jumping out the same window with an orange lizard attached to his shoulder. Back at his house, Riku's mother screamed as she saw her baby boy on the news.
"What in the world? Aren't those Oak's Pokémon?!" The crowd shouted. Riku and the thief landed on the floor and began running, but the girl had superior agility and began leaping over the walls into the wilderness bordering the town.
"Crap, I won't let you..." Riku gritted his teeth as he struggled to get over the wall by leaping onto trees.
"Follow them!" The media shouted as the cameras ran after the duo. The girl was leaping from tree to tree then began running on foot.
"Stop her movements, Charmander!" The Charmander released another Ember attack which burned the dry grass she was on, creating a small wall of fire which she could not pass without being severely burned. Riku stared down the girl as she turned around,
" I've won, now hand over the stolen items!!" The boy pointed at her as the flames raged on, the media stealthily made its way to a perfect position to capture this.
"Don’t think so, Mr. hero. Frustration!!" The girl commanded her Bulbasaur. The tiny grass type leaped from behind the girl, and with a stealthy strike smacked into Charmander.
"There are cases where it's better to not be attached Prof. Oak," She grinned mischievously as she flipped open her Pokédex. "Frustration is an attack where the power increases based on the level of the Pokémon's attachment to the trainer. The lower the relationship level the higher the power. I taught Bulbasaur this attack with a TM as soon as I got it." The girl chuckled, Riku clenched his fist.
"Well then, a grass type Pokémon. Shouldn’t be too hard." He said calmly. “Ember!" The orange lizard swiftly leaped into the air a few feet above the Bulbasaur and spun, using its momentum to slam its hefty tail onto the grass type’s bulb.
"Ahhhhg," She cursed under her breath, “Tackle attack!”
"Charmander, stop it in its tracks with Growl!" The Charmander opened its mouth to release a horrible noise that caused Bulbasaur to fall onto the floor holding its stubby arms over its face.
"Scratch attack, now!" Riku snapped his fingers as the Charmander slashed at the Bulbasaur's face. Launching it backwards into the trainer's belly.
"Oh no, I see..." The girl muttered as she ran off with her Bulbasaur a few feet before teleporting away with Abra. Riku sighed, she had escaped... The media snickered amongst themselves, getting a good story out of this entire ordeal.
'She was cute.' Riku flushed.

Riku arrived back at the lab to see it still frozen, broken windows and all. He walked in with Officer Jenny, a very professional looking woman in a blue uniform, a cameraman and a news reporter.
"Hey guys....WAKE UP!!!" Riku tapped the Professor’s face gently until the man’s eyes popped open, then walked over to Christy without saying a word and simply kicking her until she got up yelling at him to stop.
"W-What happened?!" Christy looked around, Prof. Oak trying hard not to slip again as he walked over.
"You, Riku. What happened?!" Oak grabbed him by the shoulders,
"Well after you were knocked out, I battled the thief for a bit. Then she tried to escape, which is when I followed. We ran to the outskirts of town where we battled again, I defeated her but I wasn't able to retrieve your stolen items. I'm sorry." Riku bowed in apology,
"It's okay Riku, you tried. Eh? That's all that matters." Prof. Oak reassured the boy. The professor walked over to the small chamber and grabbed the remaining two Pokédexs,
"Well Christy, I meant to give you this before but it must've slipped my mind." Prof. Oak smiled as he handed one of the Pokédexs to Christy. Then he turned to Riku. "Riku, this is a mini-computer used to record information about Pokémon. You can check your opponent's strength and attacks during battle, it records all of you adventures as well. Whenever you see a Pokémon, record its data here." Oak handed the Pokédex to a startled Riku,
"If you two complete this Pokédex, you'll be Pokémon Masters." Oak grinned as the two trainers held up their Pokédex in one hand and their first Pokémon in the other.
"Now I have handed out all three of my Pokémon and Pokédexs. Well, I handed out two sets while the other was stolen." Riku and Prof. Oak chuckled,
"Well you two, if you want to start filling this out...I suggest heading north of here. To Viridian City and beyond." The two trainers nodded and looked at each other,
